Just as recommendable as on mobile, the Switch version of Sky: Children of the Light gains in magic once the console is placed in the dock. You can enjoy the excellent art direction on the big screen and appreciate the joystick controls. The expanses of clouds as far as the eye can see impress and make you want to get lost in them. This free-to-play has not lost its luster and deserves your full attention, especially if, like us, you loved Journey.

A Plague Tale: Requiem is the game of confirmation. That of a sister's faith in her little brother when the world crumbles at the foot of their defeat. Then, that of the great talent of Asobo Studios. Offering richer gameplay without upsetting the formula, this sequel never forgets the essentials in relation to the genre it targets. Amicia's desperate fight is at least as magnificent as the graphics and soundtrack that drive the work. The infiltration mechanics can challenge, and we would have liked a final finishing coat, but none of the defects encountered tarnish our judgment: with Requiem, the Bordeaux studio delivers a great vintage. Dark red as death.

Silent Hill f is first and foremost a bold gamble, a reinvention that ventures into uncharted territory. It creates a persistent strangeness, deeply imbued with Japanese folklore, that is as disconcerting as it is captivating. Its clumsy combat and excessive action weigh down the experience, but its universe, its characters, and its soundscape impose a unique identity, which pushes us to scratch away its layers of mystery until the last minute. Imperfect but striking, Silent Hill f will undoubtedly remain as the episode that dared to redefine fear through the prism of Japanese culture, with flashes of brilliance that we never forget.

A deep and intriguing world that we fight, love and run through during dozens of hours, searching for answers to an amazing plot. Despite a few flaws, Echoes of the Eye brilliantly replicates what made the magic of Outer Wilds, with a new area that is both puzzling and awe-inspiring, both sumptuous and mysterious. It's simple, the first few hours of the adventure are absolutely thrilling, when the player slowly takes ownership of the workings and secrets of an environment that seems to be there from the start. An excellent start, however, a little spoiled by new horror-oriented phases, where you will pace in the dark if you do not have the right information, at the risk of being spotted by frightening creatures and having to go back and forth. frustrating returns to try your luck again. As usual, you may also be frustrated if a crucial clue passes you by, Echoes of the Eye calling more than ever to be an observer. Otherwise, it's a complete success. A goodbye worthy of the name to the great Outer Wilds.

For a first game developed by only 2 people, Horace is nothing short of surprising. The story is successful, moving despite great lengths at the beginning, and the gameplay, although suffering from some problems, remains pleasant throughout. But by wanting to put too much on the table, Paul Helman and Sean Scaplehorn ended up losing us in this endless tide of tributes of all kinds, sometimes unconvincing when they take the form of game mechanics. The concept is very interesting, but the result is hardly satisfy at times.

With Armored Core 6, FromSoftware brilliantly shows that its know-how is not limited to Dark Souls or Elden Ring. The Japanese studio delivers here an action game with a rather irreproachable gameplay, at the same time tactical, demanding and ultra-dynamic, spearheading a frantic pace title... Do not be fooled by the supposedly old-school structure with individual assignments. Fires of Rubicon immerses you directly in the action, and knows how to draw when necessary linear, more open phases, bosses, not to mention still impressive panoramas. Despite a slight disappointment for the major enemies, in the 2nd part of the adventure, and a small lack of content, Armored Core 6 is an addictive title, which sticks to the skin. A great action game, even if you don't have a crush on mechas.

Overall, Capcom Fighting Collection is a decent compilation. With its various bonuses, options and new modes, it appears to be an ideal companion for lovers of 2D fighting games. On the other hand, some choices (Cyberbots, Red Earth) can challenge and the Darkstalkers saga represents half of the titles available! A daring bet that will not please everyone, but we must recognize that the Street Fighter trilogy, with the anniversary edition, the Super Gem Fighter and the Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, is worth the detour. Certainly, the single-player open-world RPG has evolved a lot in 20 years. Even if The Elder Scrolls IV remains an incredibly rich title, various elements remind us that we are indeed facing a software released in 2006. But what we must not forget is that Oblivion was ahead of its time and that it still has serious arguments in 2025. By offering a realistic look at war by positioning yourself at the head of a group of civilians trying to survive, This War of Mine offers a different approach to survival games but does not avoid some pitfalls. Admittedly, the game mechanics are always the same and can quickly tire you. In addition, certain aesthetic choices somewhat taint the visibility of the infiltration phases and the writing is sometimes clumsy. But it would be criminal not to salute a game which manages to convey a strong message, which knows how to place the player in front of his own conscience at all times without falling into voyeurism or bad taste. How can we continue to keep a legendary video game series that has just celebrated its 30th anniversary alive? NetherRealm has decided. The apprentice sorcerers led by Ed Boon reanimate the beast and opt for a nice reboot taking care of its accessibility strategy, adding a big touch of RPG (Invasions) and deepening its gameplay with a feature previously unpublished in the series (Kaméos). Once again this year, NBA 2K26 is an immersive experience for any fan of the North American league. Ultra-complete with perfectly rendered atmospheres and player visuals/gestures, fans of management and controller sensations will enjoy offline modes like MyNBA, MyGM or MyTeam. This last mode mixes NBA players and WNBA players for even more legendary team possibilities and variety in the title. On the other hand, the online MyCareer mode will be divisive with its gameplay for Season 1, reserved for hardcore offensive players who know their shot and dunk gauge by heart, to the detriment of irregular shooting defenders. Visual Concepts has managed to be even more effective this year by leaving aside the side quests to get to the essentials and give more tools for fans of player and team creation to have fun. All that's missing is a game that's less demanding of virtual currency, 2K26 being still devilishly pay-to-fast, to approach perfection in the sports simulation genre.

Driven almost exclusively by its rich combat gameplay, the baby of the Team Ninja/PlatinumGames couple delivers the essentials without being as sharp as we would have liked. We had a feeling when we got our hands on it last September, Dragon Age: The Veilguard is as imperfect as it is most certainly one of the best role-playing games of the end of the year. Ten years after the Inquisition episode, the BioWare studio proves to us that it still has an undeniable talent for creating characters, bringing them to life and taking us into a rich and living world. However, the construction of its scenario is not revolutionary and its gameplay, as correct as it is, risks dividing the community. Fortunately, the writing, the subjects and the themes behind this fourth chapter make it a great adventure. If Rare's software encourages deceit, the British studio has not made fun of us over the last six years! Packed with things to do, with a superb atmosphere, SoT is also demanding, even slightly unfair when the precarious alliances evaporate like grog on the sand. But that’s also why we love it.

With Assassin's Creed Shadows, Ubisoft once again proves that its studios have a real talent for creating universes and worlds in their own right. For those who love open-worlds and feudal Japan, there's no doubt that this installment will offer the expected change of scenery. In terms of gameplay, the complementarity and play styles of Naoe and Yasuke are truly refreshing, and we feel that efforts have been made, at various levels, to try to evolve the formula. Despite everything, if a few elements change, the very heart of the saga is still as present in the way we approach the game's content, sources of flaws that we have known for a long time: the redundancy of activities, the AI that leads to quickly mechanical combat, and a somewhat flat story, even if it does have its epic moments. Ultimately, Assassin's Creed Shadows is an effective, mainstream, and entertaining installment, but the series' lack of polish and recurring issues mean that this installment hits a glass ceiling that prevents it from reaching the highest peaks.

Life is Strange: True Colors is an experience that can be appreciated in the sweetness of its journey, sublimated by shimmering colors, animations more accomplished than ever and very beautiful melodies. With this episode, Deck Nine Games chose to explore empathy from top to bottom; a preponderant aspect in the powers granted, the narration and the construction of the characters. The whole provides a very neat adventure on a human level, but which undeniably lacks a certain liveliness in its actions and the unfolding of the plot. The result is an investigation that lacks a certain panache.

If certain points still deserve a little work, we are light years away from what we were offered only 4 years ago with WWE 2K20. An unsatisfactory episode for many players of the license. The roster is huge, the immersion and visual rendering are clean, despite the few flaws that we mentioned. On the gameplay side, the controls are easy to master and the progression curve is very pleasant. The tribute to 40 years of Wrestlemania in the Showcase mode is totally successful and even if that is not what interests you, you will inevitably find what you are looking for in one of the many game modes. It therefore seems to us that if we don't yet have the perfect game for wrestling and WWE fans, we're still starting to seriously get closer.

Even if Tails of Iron has some flaws, starting with its back and forth and its combat system that lacks evolution, the title is simply charming. Helped by its panoply of charismatic characters, its sumptuous visuals and its successful fights requiring precision and coordination, the creation of Odd Bug Studio offers a magnificent journey that we can only recommend ... at least, if the difficulty does not suit you. Don't be afraid.

Rarely has a game been so aptly named. Diablo II Resurrected is indeed a true resurrection of a PC classic from the 2000s, in a technically updated version, but which scrupulously respects the original gameplay. A project that could have been a big deal in many ways, but Vicarious Vision has enough faith in the original material and hardly changes the game design and interface.

With this third release on PS5 and Xbox Series, Grand Theft Auto V has never looked so good on consoles. 4K resolution, framerate at 60 frames per second, Ray-Tracing... This port effectively uses the technical capacities of next-gen consoles to offer the most pleasant rendering possible, in particular with greatly reduced loading times. Beyond that, GTA V remains what is, namely an incredible open-world filled with activities, but which dates from 2013 and which therefore shows the number of years on certain points such as facial animations. But more than the single-player mode, it's above all GTA Online that stands out as a winner from this arrival on PS5 and Xbox Series with the addition of a tutorial for new players, exclusive content and all the game's graphic and technical improvements. based. A port which is therefore intended for players of the online mode rather than those who finished the adventure of Michael, Franklin and Trevor years ago, for lack of major novelties.

Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection shows us that the spin-off series has truly come into its own, as the adventure proves remarkably solid, fully embracing the strategic identity of the spin-off series. Behind an initial approach that can be a little disorienting, its combat system and the management of Monsties reveal a thrilling depth, driven by an optimization logic faithful to the Monster Hunter DNA. It's not all perfect—some areas lack balance, the side quests remain quite conventional, and the plot sometimes struggles to maintain momentum—but the essential element lies elsewhere. With this third installment, the Stories formula matures and offers a dense, demanding, and surprisingly engaging adventure, provided you're willing to play by its rules.

The new benchmark for the Codemasters saga? F1 23 via the breath of EA Sports releases the best vintage in terms of content for the license, especially thanks to the addition of the F1 World mode. Even if you are not really well guided towards the latter, it will fill many hours of your time with its many well-renewed challenges and quests. A lack now filled for the Formula 1 saga, which is still going around in circles in the animations and its technical rendering. The 2023 opus is a great gateway to the world of single-seaters, with the bonus of the continuation of Point de Rupture, the rather interesting Drive to Survive scenario.

The punk-apo revolution won't happen in 2025. Building on the saga's historical qualities and seeking to iron out its flaws, Borderlands 4 shines with its artistic direction, its generosity, its RPG mechanics, its cooperative multiplayer, and the dynamism of its combat, but it comes up against a harsh reality. A looter-shooter struggles to thrive in an open world. This newfound freedom offered to Vault Hunters ends up exacerbating a pervasive feeling of repetitiveness. Fans of the genre in perpetual search for power should find what they're looking for, those eager to explore an unknown world a little less so.

MLB The Show's 2021 vintage isn't a strike out, far from it. The title of Sony San Diego does not revolutionize its formula, but refines it in depth, from the more readable interface to the new very complete stadium editor, including the addition of the cross-platform and a perfect cloud backup. The heart of the game is still beating strong, namely a very faithful transcription of the major leagues by adding dynamism and variety in the realization to the clear and customizable gameplay.

If you're into fighting games, this compilation should satisfy you. It's clear that Capcom is making every effort to appeal to new players as well. This includes options to facilitate learning without forgetting veterans who will be able to rediscover the ultimate versions of their fighting games, now playable online against real opponents remotely. But despite these efforts, it's hard to deny that these titles won't appeal to everyone for several reasons: the gameplay is sometimes dated, the graphics are from another era, even if the overall package hasn't aged so badly. Furthermore, they all require a significant investment to really get the most out of them...

With a second rolling start on PS5 and Xbox Series X, F1 22 has put some oil in its engine. A little more animation during the celebrations and on the track with the arrival of the safety car in the race, the addition of events with Supercars to drive and drops in FPS during less significant cutscenes than in 2021, the standing of the latest generation of consoles is finally respected. Codemasters has succeeded in making this new title a reference for multiplayer games with the adjustment to the new rules, the addition of sprint races and a new pit entry system. We will just grumble about the too superficial F1 Life space and the lack of inspiration on the content, but F1 22 is well worth it for new motorsport fans and multiplayer enthusiasts.
