Telling Lies is a great investigation game that shines from its atmosphere and scenario, thanks to a really good acting performance. The player is constantly invited to rethink the plot, and discover new elements, but, on a more gameplay side, we're a bit disappointed by the user interfaces, not as cleaver as in Her Story.- Jeuxvideo.com

With a rich and pleasant gameplay, a really neat artistic direction and a fairly well balanced challenge (a little less at the end of the adventure), Ender Lilies ticks all the boxes of the successful 2D action-RPG. There isn't much more to say, except that if you enjoyed Hollow Knight or Blasphemous, you are going to have a great time with the baby from Live Wire and Adglobe. Especially since the title has its twist, thanks to its mind system, which will allow you to recover new skills on the bosses beaten. Enough to forge your own style of play, within tortuous and increasingly challenging levels. In short, it's varied, inspired, rich with in addition a good lifespan. A very nice adventure.- Jeuxvideo.com

Even if the last parts of the Paper Mario and Mario & Luigi series managed to push the madness even further, these games would never have seen the light of day if Super Mario RPG had not pioneered the concept in 1996. This remake allows us to understand the keys to this improbable fusion between the world of the plumber and the codes of Japanese role-playing games. Reworked to make it more modern and accessible to all audiences, it constitutes an excellent gateway to a genre that still repels some players.- Jeuxvideo.com

A simple update of FM23 for Sports Interactive? Yes and no. We will impatiently await the expected revolution in Football Manager 2025 with a new graphics engine, a new milestone announced by the London studio, but Football Manager 2024 still offers some new features to titillate regulars. If the women's championships are still not present this year, managing a men's national team is much more interesting. We are pleased to find the database and unlimited parameters, boosted by European Cup licenses and even the graphics engine dated during matches offers more convincing animations. Finally, the launch of a game is readjusted with the choice between a scenario that fits with the realities of the current season or your own scenario, or even the possibility of resuming your FM23 save. Welcome adjustments to spend hundreds of extra hours this season to unearth the most obscure talents and finally win the Champions League with a club previously in English D3.- Jeuxvideo.com

Don't be afraid to take on this Ninja Gaiden imagined by The Game Kitchen. While the name of the license may make you tremble, Ragebound has more than one talisman up its sleeve to ensure that all players find pleasure in it, from the brave young Genin to the invincible Jônin. Very pleasant to play, both technical and fun, it is pure arcade fun like we rarely see. With a little more inventiveness in its level design and some better exploited ideas, it would have reached the coveted rank of Ninja Master. The XXL menu concocted by id Software is made for action lovers who always want more ketchup. Between two slices of laughter aboard a giant robot or on the back of a ferocious dragon, The Dark Ages takes advantage of its gigantic zones to let the warrior decide which smoky BBQ sauce he'll be eaten with. The more open worlds allow for extraordinary confrontations never before seen in a Doom, but like the mecha or dragon phases, everything is designed to provoke immediate thrills at the risk of lacking a bit of depth. In any case, Bethesda's production doesn't repeat the same formulas, however magical they may be: it relies on ancestral know-how to better venture into demonic astral planes.- Jeuxvideo.com

Subnautica Below Zero does not seem to want to walk in other steps than that of its big brother. By reducing the map or vehicles, Below Zero is more to be seen as a very good expansion of the original game, more scripted version and a little more hostile than the first episode. If Below Zero undoubtedly does better than the competition when it comes to making a scripted survival game, with a universe as enchanting as it is frightening hand-crafted, it would undoubtedly have gained more from the experience of 'origin to fully conquer the veterans of the franchise, who, despite everything, will take undeniable pleasure to go diving again, just like the newcomers, who will have the chance to discover for the first time this atypical and oh so immersive way of approaching the game of survival.- Jeuxvideo.com

More than 17 years after Budokai Tenkaichi 3, Sparking Zero takes the strengths of its predecessor to go even further. With the generosity of its casting, the quality of its effects and the impressive staging of its moves, the game excels in its fanservice. But above all, the title stands out for its gameplay as technical as its predecessors which offers both a real margin of progression and instant fun thanks to its accessibility options. Too bad the fights are a little spoiled by readability and camera issues. At the same time, we can blame the game for its minimum service for its interfaces, its cutscenes and its training mode which clash with the care given to the rest of the experience. Despite everything, Sparking Zero has everything to delight Dragon Ball fans, even those who want to play locally who will have to settle for a single arena for the moment, because it really is the Budokai Tenkaichi 4 that everyone was waiting for.- Jeuxvideo.com

It’s not being weak to pounce on Final Fantasy IV once again. Introducing a dramatic dimension that was lacking in the first episodes of the saga, this adventure crosses the generations without taking a wrinkle. For this Pixel Remaster iteration, Square-Enix remains true to its line of conduct, finding an interesting balance between past and present. Charming and exciting, the game would however have deserved more significant bonuses, such as a small making-of for example. Some may be closed to this less flashy approach than the PSP episode, but Final Fantasy IV, for all that it stands for, remains a staple in Japanese RPGs.- Jeuxvideo.com

A gigantic medieval sandbox, Crusader Kings III has no equivalent. Insanely deep, the new nugget from Swedish developers Paradox takes strategy and RPG to the top. With the exception of an often errant artificial intelligence and a DLC policy that will not please everyone, this episode benefits from a remarkable interface, insane content and a much more pleasant visual approach. than previously. Each part is a discovery and leads to sometimes unsuspected decisions. And for the first time, the series has a tutorial and many contextual guides that open it up to a much wider audience, including on consoles. The Game Kitchen manages to do very well by combining video games and Andalusian folklore. They once again demonstrate their mastery of metroidvania with Blasphemous 2 by further pushing the formula of the first episode: three weapons directly integrated into the gameplay, an atmosphere that is still just as gloomy and combat that is gratifying and far from insoluble. More accomplished than its predecessor from whom it shamelessly steals its structure, Resident Evil Village is a complete experience filling with quiet strength all the necessary boxes for the success of an action-oriented first-person survival horror. Although it draws its inspiration from the depths of the Spanish oblivion belonging to the fourth installment, the title of Capcom manages to perform well thanks to its atmosphere tinged with original fantasy for the saga. The unforgivable absence of virtual reality and the presence of a feeling of "already played", however, prevent him from claiming the title of eminent village chief. If Chrono Cross The Radical Dreamers Edition allows a new audience to discover a cult PS1 game in good conditions, the latter could have been better. On the one hand, this remaster benefits from updated graphics, an improved soundtrack but also new accessibility options and exclusive content that makes it interesting both for neophytes and for those who know already the title. Octopath Traveler had set the bar so high in 2018 that it was not certain that its successor would manage to do as well. If it is not necessarily very daring in terms of novelties, this second opus above all strives to refine an already almost perfect formula by integrating ever more subtleties. Splatoon 3 is the culmination of its own formula with a more complete experience than ever. Inspired by the Octo Expansion, this new episode offers a fun story mode with the diversity of its levels and its pleasant hub to explore. The title does not forget its fundamentals with an effective multiplayer, as usual, which benefits from new subtle movements and new weapons. And if the Salmon Run is still as nice as ever, what it offers is very similar to what we experienced in Splatoon 2. This includes options to facilitate learning without forgetting veterans who will be able to rediscover the ultimate versions of their fighting games, now playable online against real opponents remotely. Two Point Campus makes an almost perfect copy by renewing the management game genre. Its amazing two-phase game system allows you to combine the best of both worlds: a game where you can build without stress and with ease, and a game where you can observe with pleasure the result of your work. If the phase of the school year turns out to be more idle than the summer holidays, it allows you to appreciate the excellent work on the atmosphere, the animations and the personalization of your campus. This transition to 3D is a resounding success and gives more depth to this Nintendo universe, usually more in the background than the giants of the firm (Mario, Zelda and other Pokémon). Between well-thought-out new features and emblematic elements, Kirby has undeniably found the right formula and delivers us an excellent surprise. Everything is simple, of course, but it works and it is difficult to let go of the console. So yes, the world is less open than we thought, yes you will find few real challenges there, but we quickly forget that once the game is launched. A little breath of fresh air that feels good and constitutes an excellent gateway to the Kirby universe.- Jeuxvideo.com

If certain points still deserve a little work, we are light years away from what we were offered only 4 years ago with WWE 2K20. An unsatisfactory episode for many players of the license. The roster is huge, the immersion and visual rendering are clean, despite the few flaws that we mentioned. On the gameplay side, the controls are easy to master and the progression curve is very pleasant. The tribute to 40 years of Wrestlemania in the Showcase mode is totally successful and even if that is not what interests you, you will inevitably find what you are looking for in one of the many game modes. It therefore seems to us that if we don't yet have the perfect game for wrestling and WWE fans, we're still starting to seriously get closer.- Jeuxvideo.com

Eternal rest definitely doesn't exist when you're a zombie designed in Capcom's labs. As Halloween approaches, the Japanese group brings Frank West back from limbo in a more beautiful, better quality, but slightly cut version of Dead Rising (erotic photos). This Deluxe Remaster edition smooths out the rough edges of a "so 2006" gameplay with heavy hammer blows. The result is enough to make fans salivate, if not turn newbies into fanatics. In any case, Willamette has some nice leftovers that you'll enjoy fighting.- Jeuxvideo.com

While we may regret the screaming artistic direction and the game modes that lack craziness, we cannot deny that the core gameplay of Knockout City is really fun and well thought out. By putting aim aside in favor of feints and co-op, the title from Velan Games offers an exhilarating experience with real personality. Everything loses in clarity once in close combat, of course, but does not spoil the experience for all that. Knockout City is a highly recommendable experience.- Jeuxvideo.com

Anno 117 Pax Romana is superb, well-balanced, and rich in options. While the campaign is rather disappointing, its management mechanics are well-oiled, and building beautiful, balanced cities is a pleasure. But once the comfortable routine of a functional city is established, interest wanes due to a real pacing problem. Salvation comes from the ability to manage both provinces simultaneously, which greatly revives interest. If you enjoy building slowly, deliberating, and admiring your Roman cities, you'll be in your element. Others are likely to give up before achieving Roman glory.- Jeuxvideo.com

Triangle Strategy succeeds where it was perhaps not expected. In addition to these enticing visuals combining pixel-art and 3D effects, and its rather effective combat system despite a certain classicism, it offers a most coherent universe and above all a gripping scenario.- Jeuxvideo.com

The Cowabunga Collection frankly lives up to the expectations placed on it. Despite its status as a “simple” compilation, the work of the Digital Eclipse studio is a lesson for all publishers who bring out the old things of the past. If the 13 games do not show the same interest, we can only bow to the avalanche of options and bonuses integrated into this compilation. Admittedly, some productions have aged and the lifespan is not enormous, but the user-friendliness is there and in the field of compilations, this Cowabunga Collection holds the dragee high for the tenors of the genre. In such conditions, it is difficult not to be seduced.- Jeuxvideo.com

Titanic, massive… adjectives fail to describe the immensity of Starfield. Shining like a sun, Bethesda's software is indeed the Skyrim in space that SF enthusiasts hope for. Admittedly, by not revolutionizing any mechanics specific to the genre, the software can be seen as a small nebulous step for the C-RPG. But it's a giant leap for great video game adventures, even if some features lack depth. Gigantic, captivating in its missions, full of things to do and discover, Starfield is an undeniable success. With its original New Game +, it will enchant you for countless hours.- Jeuxvideo.com

Once the adventure is over after eight hours of play, little Quill leaves a big mark in our minds. By integrating new weapons as well as new ways of interacting with both the scenery and the enemies, Moss Book II gains in depth. Although some environments, puzzles and adversaries are redundant, Polyarc's work is a delight. The element of surprise has certainly disappeared, but the intelligence of the design is still there. Long live Book III!- Jeuxvideo.com

Between the remaster and the remake, Crisis Core Reunion brilliantly brings up to date one of the best games on the PSP. Thanks to graphics at the height of Final Fantasy VII Remake, we make the most of the touching adventure of Zack, a character still as charismatic and endearing. Far from being a simple visual facelift, the gameplay is also modernized through more flexible controls and comfort options that make combat more dynamic and fluid than ever. And if we find all the elements that made the strength of the original experience like its materia system, certain flaws persist like its rushed story at times, its linear structure or even its phases of play which are not all equal. Not enough to spoil this beautiful story which remains a central stone in the universe of Final Fantasy VII and which should play an important role in Rebirth, the sequel to FFVII Remake, scheduled for next year.- Jeuxvideo.com

What a climb! Without saying a word, Jusant manages to make us feel many things and that makes it a very good contemplative and poetic game. But you still have to not let yourself be disturbed by the few inaccuracies in gameplay and the lack of pressure... Despite some flashes and a welcome relaxing aspect, it doesn't mean that the climb of Jusant pleases everyone. But we quickly forgive its faults when the trip is worth the detour. Whether you want to gain height, reconnect with nature or relax in an exotic world, Jusant may be the game for you.- Jeuxvideo.com

If you're into fighting games, this compilation should satisfy you. It's clear that Capcom is making every effort to appeal to new players as well. This includes options to facilitate learning without forgetting veterans who will be able to rediscover the ultimate versions of their fighting games, now playable online against real opponents remotely. But despite these efforts, it's hard to deny that these titles won't appeal to everyone for several reasons: the gameplay is sometimes dated, the graphics are from another era, even if the overall package hasn't aged so badly. Furthermore, they all require a significant investment to really get the most out of them...- Jeuxvideo.com

Ryu can in any case be proud of Kenji, his protégé defended the house very well in his absence.- Jeuxvideo.com

Metal Gear Solid Delta succeeds in its bet to bring a legendary game up to date. 21 years after its release, MGS 3 remains a masterpiece thanks to its incredible storyline, memorable characters, and fast-paced adventure that never gets boring. For new players, its 4K visual overhaul with realistic rendering and comfort options make it an excellent entry point, while fans will be delighted to find all the content surrounding this episode in a single game. But for fear of distorting the original work, Konami has kept some flaws, such as an inconsistent artificial intelligence, but above all, gameplay marked by a certain heaviness that will discourage more than one. In any case, it's hard to deny the pleasure of seeing MGS return to the forefront, hoping that it leads to a new adventure next time.- Jeuxvideo.com
