With this Nintendo Switch 2 version, Street Fighter 6 offers a portable version that lives up to other machines, but not on all levels. If the image is less fine than on PC/PS5/XSX, the high frame rate makes the fights as playable as on other machines, as much for playing alone, in local multiplayer or online. On the other hand, it is more on the World Tour where the shoe pinches because of clashes in 30 frames per second which clash with the fluidity of exploration. And if we can criticize the absence of a directional cross on the console, it does not prevent Street Fighter 6 on Nintendo Switch 2 from being a very good port which proves that the machine has the power it needs to accommodate titles available on other platforms, unlike its big sister, even the most competitive ones.

Like a lovingly polished katana, Shinobi Art of Vengeance cuts hard. Pleasant to pick up and fun to play thanks to its multiple moves, it's such a robust action game that the platforming aspect seems more timid in comparison. Sure, the Metroidvania-lite aspect offers large levels to explore, but it doesn't transcend the experience. In any case, we feel the rigor of intensive training behind many gameplay mechanics, like a shinobi perfecting his art, even if all the techniques observed have already been seen elsewhere.

Falcom has had a successful run with Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter! By giving itself the means to achieve its ambitions, the Japanese studio delivers an ideal remake to discover its flagship franchise. Thanks to an excellent combat system, polished graphics, and above all, a successful French translation, the first adventures of Estelle and Joshua are more captivating and accessible than ever. And while the story is driven by a fascinating universe and endearing characters, we can still criticize that it takes a while to get going and suffers from some lengths. Now, we can't wait to discover the remake of the next episode, which is considered one of the best installments in the saga and is already in the pipeline...

Persona 3 Reload is a model in terms of a role-playing game remake. The title takes everything that makes the charm of the original game to modernize the experience and correct its flaws by drawing inspiration from Persona 5. Thanks to comfort options, the formula combining daily management and dungeon exploration becomes one of even more addictive. As a result, we are even more captivated by its cast of endearing characters and especially its perfectly oiled combat system. Add to this a fabulous graphic and musical overhaul and the adventure is all the more pleasant to navigate. In a nutshell, Persona 3 Reload is a great way to (re)discover Persona 3 and the perfect game to wait for Persona 6.

Ultimately, Pragmata is a title that still bears the scars of a complex development process—one that forced the teams to make difficult choices, particularly regarding its structure. To avoid compromising the core experience, it feels as though Capcom opted to keep things simple—a choice that is often the most sensible one. While perhaps unsurprising in this regard, Pragmata more than makes up for it with its gameplay—which is exhilarating from start to finish and constantly refreshed by regular new additions—as well as through the story it weaves around its two central characters and their intertwined destinies. Dense, spectacular, and deeply moving, Pragmata stands as the perfect example of the kind of tightly focused game we wish we encountered more often—a stark contrast to other titles that aim for sheer excess. Short yet intense, Pragmata serves as yet another testament to Capcom’s mastery in delivering finely tuned productions that send shivers down your spine.

Sea of Stars has everything from an excellent tribute to the biggest names in Japanese role-playing games of the 90s. A well-paced story, a cast of characters to which we quickly become attached for their assumed personalities. It manages to do the same amazing job as its role models, thanks to its jaw-dropping art direction and adventure-perfect soundtrack. If the fights are engaging and push the player to think about each confrontation, they tend to lengthen the good dynamics of the title. It is especially by the lack of evolution of gameplay for the characters that the players will be able to find a certain weariness. If Sea of Stars is therefore not as revolutionary as its spiritual masters in their time, it should still have a place of choice on a shelf of your toy library in 2023. It may well establish itself as the independent game of the year if Silksong remains discreet or even claim prices from much fiercer competition. More than a great performance for a UFO from the 90s.

Thanks to its upgrade, Cyberpunk 2077 finally offers a gaming experience on PS5 and Xbox Series at the height of what it should have been at its launch in December 2020. More beautiful, more stable and better optimized than in backward compatibility : those who had waited for the next-gen patch will finally be able to enjoy the adventure in good conditions. But beyond these technical considerations, if patch 1.5 brings some welcome adjustments (more responsive crowd, improved but still perfectible driving and ergonomics...), the title remains globally identical to the PC version despite a less impressive visual rendering. More than a year after its release, Cyberpunk 2077 remains an RPG with a fascinating universe and impeccable writing that remains plagued by immersion-breaking bugs and an artificial intelligence that falls short. Now that CD Projekt has finally honored its promises, we can't wait to see what the Polish studio has in store for the future of its futuristic open-world with new DLCs.

We understand better why it took so long for a new opus. Pikmin 4 is an exemplary sequel and the gaming world would certainly be much better off if all licenses followed its example. While keeping its DNA, the title does not just offer a few anecdotal novelties: it explores new horizons. Something to delight both fans of the license and perhaps tempt a new audience. In any case, trying out the Pikmin formula with this new opus is clearly your best option. Pikmin 4 indeed surpasses the already excellent Pikmin 3, and this for our greatest pleasure. But we wouldn't have said no to a little visual refresh and the return of the coop mode of its predecessor. Two big shadows that come to tarnish an experience yet sublimated on all the rest.

Final Fantasy XVI is a title with a fascinating proposal, unfortunately hampered by certain aspects. Going even deeper into the action than its predecessor, the game delivers spectacular combat and rich possibilities thanks to the powers of the Primordials. These confrontations have all the more impact as they take place within an exciting story and a mature and credible universe. It is also on the graphic level that FFXVI puts your eyes on it through its clashes of Primordials and its environments, despite a fluctuating framerate in performance mode. Unfortunately, all of this is marred somewhat by linear levels, limited exploration, and sketchy staging that create a disconnect with the modernity of the rest of the experience. Despite these dated elements, the Final Fantasy saga proves with this episode and FFVII Remake that it is still able to amaze, more than 35 years after its debut.

Both remain the excellent action/adventure games they were at the time, still offering spectacular moments and more touching sequences, in the service of fast-paced experiences that are still savored with great pleasure. That being said, the performance boost offered by the PS5 remains quite anecdotal, and, unless you are an ultimate aficionado of the franchise and the frames per second are a grail to reach to play your favorite license, the investment remains dispensable, all the more so since the 4K / 30 FPS sometimes struggles to hold up. That being said, the performance mode does its job very well and ensures 60 fps in optimal conditions thanks to an effective upscaling technique. So, if you want to discover for the first time the adventures of Chloé Frazer and Nathan Drake, or if you want to play this license in a more fluid way, this collection remains pleasant enough to browse for you to consider acquiring it.

It brings together within it the multi and community aspect of GT Sport while rediscovering the "RPG of the racing game" aspect of the first four opuses with a well-structured and scalable GT mode. The driving is both technical and accessible, benefiting from great precision which offers a good margin of progress. 420 vehicles, 90 tracks on 34 circuits and mission and license modes for those who like small challenges, it promises a phenomenal lifespan to all car simulation fans. Super Mario Galaxy 1 and 2 remain absolute benchmarks for the 3D platform. Their return to Switch and Switch 2 is the best opportunity to discover or rediscover them in modernized conditions. However, it's important to keep in mind that this is an improved port, not a complete overhaul. The visual improvements, optimized cursor, and portable comfort bring real benefits, but don't revolutionize the experience. For new players, it's a must-have. For former Wii owners, the decision will depend on their desire to rediscover these masterpieces in a slightly more enjoyable version. They still arrive at the right time after a strangely weak year, without a truly original Mario game for the new console and the plumber's 40th anniversary. With these Super Mario Galaxy games, we've simply started dreaming about the future of the series again. Which is already, in my opinion, quite a feat.

We loved Indiana Jones and the Ancient Circle! Despite quite a few flaws - whether it's the behavior of the NPCs or the very structure of some levels -, the title from Machine Games offers us a very beautiful adventure that perfectly reproduces the essence of Spielberg and Lucas' character. The Ancient Circle is at once funny, intense, sometimes rather touching, and will certainly satisfy fans of the license. What's more, with its first-person camera, it's a fairly unique vision of the action-adventure game with a treasure hunter twist. Unlike Uncharted, Indy is not a superhero and the overbidding of spectacular staging here gives way to a more "traditional" approach to archaeology. Enough to get lost for 20-30 hours in superbly produced settings whose atmosphere commands respect.

Comfortable in the exercise of style imposed by the time loop, the artists of Arkane signed with Deathloop a very good FPS that is as interesting as it is wacky. More action-oriented than a Dishonored, Bethesda's title quickly reaches a level of depth but also of complexity that is rare even for a work by Arkane. The repetitive aspect necessarily linked to the theme of the game is intelligently lessened by the variety of situations, the chance of encounters (with Julianna) and the rise in power. Enjoying a concept of loop without running out of time, Deathloop encourages experiments of all kinds in a universe that contrasts drastically with what the people of Lyon have already produced. Funny, touching, ultra creative, more precise in its gameplay than before, Psychonauts 2 is a generous and rhythmic game, which offers between 15 and 20 hours of a particularly successful experience. Certainly, we will deplore a challenge in withdrawal, bosses perhaps less crazy than in the past or the absence of French dubbing, but nothing to sulk his pleasure in the face of this breathless, funny and touching adventure located in a universe that it is so refreshing to explore.

After the sublime Gris, Nomada Studio is back with an action-adventure game that, under its appearance of an ecological fable with a young woman and her wolf, actually has a much heavier message. And we liked the way Neva took us by surprise. The latest baby from the Spanish team also comes back with a superb artistic direction, where the nature full of details contrasts with the “emptiness” of certain passages, marked by a surrealism that echoes Gris… In Neva, Nomada also offers - for the first time - action-adventure phases and does more than well. The demons that Alba must face give rise to gripping action phases, well staged, where a certain tension reigns (without ever falling into an excessive challenge). A very beautiful adventure that we recommend.

Despite the precision of the reflections provided by the “graphics” mode, we especially appreciated a “performance” mode capable of bringing an epic to life in 60fps. Thus, exploring the Office and the many clashes becomes more enjoyable than ever. The included DLCs extend an adventure that retains the same qualities and flaws as in 2019. If you're still new to Jesse Faden's story, it might be time to catch up.

Tales of Arise brilliantly succeeds in breathing new life into the Tales Of saga. With its universe and its successful characters, the title delivers a striking adventure that takes advantage of superb environments thanks to a unique graphic rendering. The fights are not left out either since they show great intensity with always more spectacle, sometimes even if it means confusing the action. If we can blame it for his clipping, its talkative side, or its redundant bestiary, we still salute its many qualities which suggest good for the future of the series.

What a slap! With this luminous shadow drop sold at a low price and integrated into the Game Pass, Bethesda sends the conventions of the video game industry waltzing away. From the waltz to Tango Gameworks, there is only one step that we invite you to take without delay. After fear, the studio brilliantly relies on ardor. Hi-Fi RUSH plays a score of all the devils where rhythm, platform and fight form an euphoric melody and without major false note. By playing on the measures but having fun in excess, this rush is our crush from the beginning of the year.

Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered on PC is a good, if imperfect, port: it runs well on a wide variety of configurations, even the Steam Deck, but quickly becomes greedy when you want to activate ray-tracing . The latter also remains unconvincing, with unpleasant visual artifacts. On the other hand, we greatly appreciate the compatibility with 21:9 screens, which brings a real plus, as well as the possibility of using the Duel Sense to its full potential. That being said, even if you have the PC that is fine, you have no interest in taking this version if you already have it on PS5, or even on PS4. For others, it's now or never to discover an excellent Marvel game and one of the best adaptations of the adventures of Spider-Man.

True, in the collective subconscious, Halo has always been a first person shootout set in large environments. But Infinite finally delivers a vision of what Master Chief can give inside a universe that lives up to its reputation. As well as bearing little in the way of his tumultuous development, the game manages to make John-117 so fun to play that it's hard to let go of the pad once the campaign begins. Whether during confrontation or in the exploration phases, the title of 343 Industries is appealing. However, once the campaign is over, we can only regret the absence of different biomes and the scarcity of truly epic sequences. Elements which have nevertheless been the hallmark of the series for twenty years! In short, we gain in freedom of action what we lose in spectacle. With such successful main mechanics, we would have liked an even more ambitious campaign, period.

Enriched with relevant content on Switch, the remaster of Xenoblade Chronicles X respects the direction desired by the series creator since its beginnings. It aims for the point of balance between Japanese and Western role-playing games by offering a dizzying world in its disproportionate excess and gigantism, like a permanent ode to discovery. This exhilarating immensity does much more than serve the game's narrative. It matches the perfect fluidity that connects the action and exploration phases to offer a tailor-made experience enhanced by an epilogue essential if we want to know the end point of the story.

With Armored Core 6, FromSoftware brilliantly shows that its know-how is not limited to Dark Souls or Elden Ring. The Japanese studio delivers here an action game with a rather irreproachable gameplay, at the same time tactical, demanding and ultra-dynamic, spearheading a frantic pace title... Do not be fooled by the supposedly old-school structure with individual assignments. Fires of Rubicon immerses you directly in the action, and knows how to draw when necessary linear, more open phases, bosses, not to mention still impressive panoramas. Despite a slight disappointment for the major enemies, in the 2nd part of the adventure, and a small lack of content, Armored Core 6 is an addictive title, which sticks to the skin. A great action game, even if you don't have a crush on mechas.

Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake manages to bring together the best of both worlds: the charm and freedom of old-school games with the comfort and fluidity of modern titles. This starts from a visual point of view with a more successful HD-2D style than ever that looks like an achievement for Team Asano. Controller in hand, the adventure benefits from so many comfort options that it becomes more fluid than ever and modular to satisfy all audiences. Thanks to all this, we find with great pleasure the feeling of freedom typical of Famicom games with gameplay that shines as much by its simplicity as by the combinations offered. And if we can criticize it for the structure of its dungeons, some less beautiful environments and its technique on Switch, Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake still succeeds in its bet to bring back to taste a timeless classic in the best possible conditions.

With Unicorn Overlord, Vanillaware once again displays its mastery by tackling a new genre. The tactical aspect of the battles displays a more than impressive density and know-how which will speak to fans of the turn-based tactical role-playing game genre. The essential is not everything. It is also through the exploration side that the title is pleasant to play and that the gameplay loop is addictive! On the other hand, the writing and the plot are not the strong points of the title since they never really manage to take off. If Unicorn Overlord has very different characteristics from its JRPG companions released before it in 2024 (FF7: Rebirth, Granblue Fantasy Relink or Persona 3 Reload), it nevertheless displays the same quality of finish by being an excellent game.

The grip on the controller is also well thought out and no point of friction taints the experience. The only downsides: a stable framerate, but which will struggle to exceed 30 FPS and long loading times between each zone. In the end it is difficult to judge an extension on Monster Hunter since it is not yet in final version. Several updates are already planned for the coming months with additions of monsters, quests and special events. In the state Monster Hunter Sunbreak sublimates everything that has been proposed by Rise without revolutionizing the formula. We regret the absence of a mode equivalent to the Fief of Iceborn for players wanting to persist at the end of the game, but it is clear that the extension proposed by Capcom is solid, rather well stocked and very clean technically, whether on Nintendo Switch or PC. Diving back into this Silent Hill 2 completely rebuilt by Konami is like returning to a childhood village dear to our hearts decades later, or coming across a fiery declaration written by a person with whom ties have been broken... everything is there as in memories, but everything is different too. James Sunderland is back, accompanied by his eternal demons. If our hero has doubts about the necessity of his coming to the heart of the cursed city, we no longer have any: this trying journey is a dream for fans, as much as it will be a nightmare for others. Within this striking story of which we are the Eros (and Thanatos), the infernal round trips to the confines of darkness - even more numerous than in 2001 - will leave tourists on the side of the road. Bloober Team has written a love letter primarily to Silent Hill 2 fans. A letter at least as powerful as the one addressed to survival horror fans 23 years earlier, written by Team Silent.

And then, the adventure is all the more pleasant to go through as it benefits from a high frame rate in combat, an epic staging, but also a more serious scenario which delivers a grandiose outcome. .
