Despite its new cooperative gameplay, Epic Mickey 2 is not the epic sequel we were waiting for. The title developed by Junction Point studios lacks real ambition, especially regarding its technical innovations compared to the previous episode on Wii. And yet, Epic Mickey 2 offers enough hints to famous Disney productions and beautiful landscapes to satisfy players, and it will occupy them for hours thanks to its great game length and a amazing world to paint just as you like.

Mafia The Old Country was meant to revive the franchise after the failure of Mafia 3. Its strengths lie in a gripping story, charismatic characters, and a beautifully realized Sicilian setting. The cinematic presentation and soundtrack add real flair. But the gameplay falls flat: gunfights lack punch, stealth feels dated, knife duels repeat themselves, and stiff animations break immersion. The game also over-assists the player, undermining its own realism. In the end, it’s a visually stunning but mechanically outdated entry, worth it for the story but disappointing for anyone seeking engaging gameplay.

With its tons of content and its inventive gameplay, Disgaea 3 : Absence of Detention is a great game. But this version is totally dispensable for PlayStation 3 owners and for newcomers who can be frustrated by the disappearance of the french translation. Very exciting on paper, Back 4 Blood still blows hot and cold once you take it in hand. It's a good shooter, yes. The atmosphere and the Left 4 Dead touch are directly perceptible, of course. With no surprise the guys at Traveller's Tales are delivering a LEGO game that's still decent. But this year the studio has snoozed a bit with a game deprived from any innovation. Happily the Marvel license was chosen this year, and it can brig a special taste to the game by itself. Over a hundred characters from Stan Lee's imagination, a new scenario, a good gameplay and a nice lifespan, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes is a good LEGO game, maybe one of the most fun to play, but not necessarily a classic of the series, be it current gen' version or next gen'.

After the improved cutscenes, the game reveals its technical problems (rigid animations), bugs and imbalance. With a game released almost 10 years ago, it was inevitable. In the absence of a new episode of Skyrim, or even an opportunistic remaster, Avowed immediately positioned itself as a perfect replacement candidate. It must be said that for years, the Obsidian Entertainment studio has shown its appetite for old-school RPGs, with a strongly assumed Bethesda-style coating and formula. But from Skyrim, Avowed doesn't borrow much, except for its old school, so 2011 side, which could be likened to a comforting feeling for the most nostalgic players. Because despite appearances and an intriguing first part of the adventure, Avowed subsequently reveals its true face, that of being an RPG for dummies, or a chatty and more complex than average action-adventure game. It is somewhere between the two and a bit nowhere, since it tries to hit both categories at once. The result is a game that displays some pretty blatant game design inconsistencies, with on one hand more flexibility in its class and progression systems, and on the other a completely frozen world where interactions have been reduced to next to nothing and NPCs reduced to inert and uninteresting green plants. We still manage to have fun with its more open combat system, but we have to get past the ultra-rigid animations that take us back to another time. The lack of staging and the slightly too rainbow artistic direction also contributed to spoiling the party and it's a shame because Avowed had a great story to tell us. An adventure that will find a nostalgic or unobservant audience, but a game that will not go down in history, that's for sure.

Often mocked for its games with recycled gameplay, Ubisoft offers us something original with Roller Champions. The rules of this fictional sport hold up perfectly, and so do the execution, gameplay, and accessibility. So we're having a really good time online. On the other hand, the content is weak for the moment, it is its main fault.

As enjoyable as always, Life Is Strange is back with this second opus that brings new characters and renew the IP that can more easily welcome new players. Life Is Strange 2 still has some flaws but let's not forget this is only the first chapter of many.

Resident Evil HD Remaster is a nice revisit to the original game even if the content is left untouched. A good way for new players to experience this series even if the 20€ price is a bit steep for such an oldie.

With Skylanders Giants and the introduction of big figurines, we were clearly waiting for major changes in terms of gameplay. However, the new title of the successful IP only appears to be a small update to the previous episode. And yet, the adventure remains complete and mostly pleasant thanks to a colorful production that will occupy our children for hours, either in the game or in their schoolyard.

All the trailers predicted a great Souls-like, lifted by its revolutionary, fantastic, historical and original universe. But Steelrising just misses the point. Some more or less annoying bugs, the incomprehensible absence of French voices (it's a french game), and the fact of leaving after Elden Ring harm a game that deserved to be a little more polished and ambitious.

Inazuma Eleven Go Shadow & Light have made substantial progress since the last iterations, and are among the most beautiful games on 3DS. Unfortunately, the rest of the game hasn't made the same step forward.

In spite of many bugs, Pure Farming 2018 is a worthy alternative to Farming Simulator, but the franchise from Focus Home Interactive ultimately remains the best.

While being quite light on content, The Sims 4: City Life is a nice add-on to the game which brings a few but nice locations with enough variety to keep you entertained. The price is quite steep for so little content.

We were waiting for something awful, but Hyrule Warriors is a nice surprise after all. Omega Force and Nintendo did some good work to make the two IP's match without any problem. The high number of treasures will force you to explore and the Adventure mode with its 8-bits map, is a true jewel. Alas, without online modes and a smart AI, Hyrule Warriors becomes sometimes really annoying.

That's You is an interesting game to play when you're with multiple friends at home, with funny interactions thanks to the PlayLink system that uses smartphones as controllers. It's still quite limited as you really need to be along some people you know well before you start playing this.

Even if Fist Of The North Star Lost Paradise feels a lot like a Yakuza game on a budget, it's still one of the best consoles games of Hokuto No Ken. A game clearly made for the fans of this hero.

Considering it's tailor made for VR, RIGS : mechanized Combat League offers great gameplay and very good immersion into the game. But the very light content and the framerate problems get us wondering why it's sold for 60€.

With such an imbalanced gameplay/narrative ratio, South of the Circle clearly won't appeal to everyone. The few gameplay mechanics are really anecdotal, so much so that even the choice system does not lead to different ends as tradition dictates. It is imperative to approach this production from the angle of the essentially narrative adventure, or even squarely to place oneself in the spirit "I am watching a nice animated film of 3h30".

Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition is Square Enix's answer to the limited hardware power packed by the Nintendo Switch. The game has simplified graphics, and a more linear approach, but still makes it a worthy option for people who can't experience FFXV on a more powerful platform.

Tales of Xillia 2 isn't exactly better than the former episode. The game from Bandai Namco recycles too many features and too many elements, and fails to improve visually. But it's not worst either. Tales of Xillia 2 unfolding is far better and integrate the so-much-asked-for optional quests very well. The possibility to visit some new locations and switch between pistols, blades and hammer during the fights bring some fresh air too.

That new Trackmania isn't really new as it recycle most from Trackmania 2003 and Trackmania Nations, and the most revolutionary thing is it's subscription model. On the other hand, most of it is available for free, and it's still feel as great as ever.

For less than 15 euros, Techland gives us an honest game which can stand the comparison with blockbusters. The developers took great care in making a nice environment through the use of cel-shading for graphics, music, and the voice that makes the game entertaining. But Call of Juarez Gunslinger ain't faultless. The game is quite short, the AI and the dullness of the gameplay are serious faults. Gunslinger is an arcade title that you should play like an arcade game: intensively and quickly!
