Sonic: Lost World could have meant that the blue hedgehog was definitely back in the business. But the game goes exactly in the opposite way because of imprecise gameplay, a lack of clues in the way you have to play and a random rhythm. Fortunately, Lost World is a technical success and a beautiful game. Sonic Team will have to find its balance for the next chapter.- JeuxActu

As an independent game developed by a little french studio, Shad'O couldn't rival the big productions that were released this last year. But as a Tower Defense title, Shad'O appears to be interesting. Its scenario, its poetic atmosphere and clever gameplay features bring something original to the IP compared to similar titles. The main problem is its unbalanced fighting system, some of the different units under our spell being either useless, or enter the fight too late leading to unpredictable sessions.- JeuxActu

The Wonderful 101 isn't a good surprise. Doomed buy very repetitive gameplay, the good ideas the game carries are drown into the mass, and can't make you forget about the faults. It's quite sad because Platinum Games's title is one of the few to take the risk of actually using the console's gamepad in another way than displaying a loadout or a map (at least sometimes). The design is quite close to Viewtiful Joe and is one of the strong points of the games, but here too, the limited power of Nintendo's console and the light work done to graphics from the Japanese studio are seriously holding back the potential of the artistic lead. In brief, we're far away from a System-seller game.- JeuxActu

Drawing inspiration from games such as Limbo and Prince of Persia, but also from TV Shows like The Walking Dead for the storyline, Deadlight doesn't actually propose an original zombiefied experience. Disgaea 5 : Alliance of Vengeance is still a very good tactical-RPG. LEGO Dimensions could have been a really good challenger for Skylanders. Plenty of IP's at disposal, some good and new ideas about using NFC figures differently... Inspired by the glorious Dark Souls series, Lord Of The Fallen was aiming at bringing some of the hardcore RPG magic to the next gen consoles. As a clever mix of the universe of LittleBigPlanet and the interesting gameplay of Modnation Racers, LittleBigPlanet Karting had pretty good bases to offer amazing races we can usually find in the Mario Kart IP. However, the lack of dynamism, especially in solo, makes the game a little bit less attractive. Hopefully, the multiplayer mode, with its community-based gameplay, offers enough challenges to spend a great time with friends, but not enough innovations to be one of a kind.- JeuxActu

It's clearly Team Ninja's gameplay expertise that saves Stranger of Paradise: Final Fantasy Origin from disaster. It takes a monster foot to move from one class to another while becoming familiar with the finesse they abound. Sid Meier's Starships lack of depth and features to really arouse the gamer's interest. Moreover the iOS origin of Firaxis's latest title really shows when you play on PC, and the result is unacceptable for any gamer that has played a real Civ game before. It's been eight years since we've seen Yoshi in a journey of his own. As you can imagine, there were massive hopes on his shoulders. And the disappointment is only harder to swallow after completing this - short - adventure. It's nice, but the game never manages to take off. The far too slow rhythm leaves the player progressing with no real aim. There is some new stuff of course, new transformations, the giant eggs to throw, but nothing really exciting. The fans will enjoy the graphics (very seductive), and the classic gameplay, still able to hit some soft spots, but that is all they'll get. It is clear Nintendo is targeting the youngest gamers, who are going to find in Yoshi's New island, a good platformer, but nothing compared to the former episodes.- JeuxActu

Mars: War Logs is really a low cost game. Sold for 20 euros, it delivers a complete adventure with a decent lifetime in spite of many faults. Even knowing that the game was developed on a tight budget, some points are rally hard to accept and the limited budget does not forgive everything. But we have to admit that for this price, we can't ask too much from a recent studio. Mars: War Logs is a small budget game which will entertain you and it's not a bad start, knowing that everything that was advertised is in the game. The promises are kept. Made with good intentions, The Smurfs 2 The Prisoner of the Green Stone unfortunately does not manage to do as well as its predecessor released in 2021. However, the decision to take inspiration from Ratchet & Clank in its gameplay was a good idea in itself, but OSome Studio did not go through with the adaptation. Between a limited gameplay loop which is never renewed, the restricted use of SmurfoMix, the hallucinating - and incomprehensible - poverty of the bestiary (5 types of enemies in total), only 3 different worlds to travel through (and which last far too long). for a long time), portals that are completely underused but also an inconsistent level design, we get bored quite quickly because of this repetition in the gameplay. Ambitious and promising, Dakar Desert Rally is ultimately not the great rally game that we were sold. Even if its open world is pleasant to browse, especially when the navigation aids are deactivated, the game still has problems already present in Dakar 18. After nearly a decade off the courts, the Mario Tennis series returns on the Nintendo Switch 2 with a different approach and it's disapointing. Unlike previous entries, which balanced solid tennis gameplay with fun, arcade-style elements, Mario Tennis Fever isn’t really about precision or timing anymore. It’s immediate, flashy, and chaotic, with frenzied rackets and over-the-top effects designed to get laughs (or frustration) rather than reward skill. The downside is that this focus on spectacle comes at the expense of balance. Some powers feel overpowered, defense is limited, and the depth that made Mario Tennis Aces satisfying is largely gone. Online matches can quickly feel repetitive, even frustrating. The Adventure mode doesn’t help: short, overly wordy, and heavy on tutorials, it feels more like a drawn-out lesson than a proper solo campaign.Fortunately, the game’s overall content softens the blow. A generous roster, dozens of rackets, mini-games, and multiple modes keep the experience lively—but after eight years of waiting, it still feels a little light.- JeuxActu

Tennis World Tour 2 has come a long way from the previous opus, with the use of timing-based gameplay. Lots of it is still wrong, from the ball physics to the way players slide on the ground, but the improvement is so massive that we're actually expecting to see a Tennis World Tour 3.- JeuxActu

Inazuma Eleven 3 : Team Ogre Attacks wouldn't have been so unsurprising if it had been released in September with the two other versions. Now, we can only stress the lack of new features of this third game, which gives us the very same gameplay than Bomb Blast and Lightning Bolt. For the biggest fans only.- JeuxActu

Death Come True feels more like an interactive movie than a videogame, have mostly no gameplay at all. The story and the atmosphere are good but 18$ for less than two hours is a hard pill to swallow.- JeuxActu

Pokémon Legends Z-A is a game that tries to shake up the franchise with some interesting ambitions, but unfortunately, the technical and artistic resources don’t keep up. Between a fresh urban setting that is poorly utilized, a struggling graphics engine, and archaic level design, the open-world experience is disappointing and fails to convince. The streets are empty, the buildings are rudimentarily cloned, flat textures and constant clipping make the city of Illumis feel like a cardboard movie set.Yet, not everything is bad. The real highlight of this episode is the real-time combat. Abandoning the classic turn-based system is a risky move, but here the gameplay gains pace and tension. Positioning, timing, and strategy take center stage, while the variety of attacks and the reintroduction of Mega Evolutions add tactical depth. On the other hand, all other aspects of the game fall short: the story is somewhat flat, side quests are repetitive and uninspired, and the overall art direction suffers from a glaring lack of personality. In the end, the game feels like an ambitious prototype, limited by an outdated graphics engine and insufficient resources. Younger players and long-time fans of the franchise will find enjoyment here, but for adult or more demanding players, the experience remains frustrating. It’s clear the franchise has potential to evolve, but Game Freak needs to seriously invest in its tools and design to deliver a truly modern Pokémon open-world game.- JeuxActu

WWE 2K17 gropes for its balance : the game is hard to understand to the newcomers and it can seem far too serious. But you have to admit than, once you got it, it reveals depth and intensity. Unfortunately, the technical limits of WWE 2K17 clearly ruin the immersion and the way you enjoy the fights.- JeuxActu

After the very good FighterZ, Dragon Ball Z Kakarot could have been a worthy RPG for the fans, but the game ultimately underperforms in too many areas to be of any interest to anybody but the most hardcore of Dragon Ball fans.- JeuxActu

Based on a high-advanced concept of survival and management, the game unfortunately suffers from rudimentary mechanisms and many blunders. SoD 2 is clearly preferred in multiplayer for more fun.- JeuxActu

Super Lucky's Tale is a VRless version of Lucky's Tale released last year on Onculus Rift. With 4K display on Xbox One X, the game doesn't manage to do much, especially because of an awful camera which makes Lucky's handling very hazardous.- JeuxActu

As EA Vancouver had found quite a sane recipes for last year's game, we hoped that NBA LIVE 16 would have been worthy even if aimed at the arcade lover. In fact it's a disappointment chain with all the flaws we found last year are still present. Far from the awful opus of 2013, we still wish NBA Live 17 will give NBA 2K a run for its money.- JeuxActu

Dragon Ball Xenoverse is not a good fighting game, and not a good MMO either. The title from Dimps clearly hesitates between two genres without never mastering one or the other. The far-too-basic gameplay prevent fighting fans from enjoying the battles, while the painful progression does not offer us an efficient online experience.- JeuxActu

When you know a bit about soccer you can't help but notice Nintendo Pocket Football Club is littered with flaws, making that game unappealing to soccer fans. The game is way too easy to enjoy your team boss role. ParityBit's game still offers an easy approach to the sport making it a good choice for newbies to the sport.- JeuxActu

Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2 Plus is precisely what we can call an opportunist adaptation. The game carries technical deficiencies that can quickly spoil your gaming experience, above all for such a great license. Bringing Ninja Gaiden with you anywhere is quite classy but that doesn't really make it worth your money, especially if you played the console version.- JeuxActu

OVERKILL's The Walking Dead is a clever take on the series with a subtle mix of stealth and gunfights to survive the numerous foes of the lore. Sadly, the game is ruined by bugs, the lack of tutorial, the long loading times, and a lack of vocal chat and the balance problems.- JeuxActu
