Don't Nod is back with a vengeance, with a proposition calibrated for fans who fell in love with the studio thanks to Life is Strange. Lost Records has everything to appeal to an audience that swears by the emotions they experienced playing Max Caulfield in the Arcadia Bay era or even with the Diaz brothers. The story and its direction are undeniably the strong point of Tape 1. ‘Bloom sets the scene and the stakes to create a title that has every chance of becoming a new studio benchmark. It still stumbles at times, notably due to a technical aspect that isn't quite finished. We're obviously hoping that the studio has given itself enough time to ensure that the sequel doesn't suffer the same disruption. So we can't wait to launch Tape 2 and get to the bottom of the story behind this reunion of friends who haven't seen each other for 27 years. We look forward to seeing you on 15 April 2025.- Gameblog.fr

Don't Starve is brilliantly titled. This rich and smart rogue-like defies you to explore and survive an equally cruel and alluring randomly generated world, but I suspect that the "Don't Starve" advice isn't for your character but for yourself: the game is so enticing and brilliant that those playing it will soon find themselves skipping the real life meals to continue playing.- Gameblog.fr

Recreating Resident Evil 2 20 years later was no easy task but Capcom pulled it off. Resident Evil 2 was handled with love and care and it shows. 2019's Resident Evil 2 is a wonderful Survival Horror that is both terrifying and fun to play. Fans old and new will have a great time with the game. Our only, and minor, complaint is that we wish the remake added more new story content to the original storyline. But other than that, Capcom did the original game justice.- Gameblog.fr

No More Heroes 2 : Desperate Struggle is a journey of its own. Blessed with solid and enjoyable gameplay, Grasshopper's title draws the player into a furious whirlwind of violence and madness, complete with references to wrestling, moe, and cult movies. Diabolically orgasmic. NMH 2 universe is an otaku's dream world, with unlikely bosses, and an enjoyable bad taste, that will make you forget about the technical shortcomings of the game and place it among the classics of the Wii.- Gameblog.fr

Ocotpath Traveler is a strong entry to the old-school J-RPG genre, even though its classicism may forbid it from reach the greatest titles its taking inspiration from. As simple as solid, this retro adventure features enough mechanics to offer a deep fighting system, well-balanced and which brilliantly avoids countless leveling sessions. Too bad Octopath Traveler's narrative simply serves us eight not-so-connected stories, otherwise it could have been an instant classic.- Gameblog.fr

Valorant on consoles is a true success. Console gamers finally have the chance to play a very competitive, precise and demanding game, far from what we are used to find on these platforms. With its mix of Counter-Strike and Overwatch 2, Valorant is an atypical game that requires to be tamed but that quickly becomes addictive and quite incredibly fun.- Gameblog.fr

A nice blend of Tower Defense and Action/RPG gameplay, Dungeon Defenders uses the carrot (characters with a persistant progression even when you fail) and the stick (a Dark Souls-like difficulty) with talent. Dawn of War III is a beautiful marriage of successful technique and very pleasant gameplay. A true festival of pyrotechnics effects, it's one of more beautiful games in the strategy category. Nevertheless, the game is not without fault, and we regret the cruel lack of content in multiplayer (only one mode). But Relic has achieved its goal and the game is good mix between nostalgia and evolution.- Gameblog.fr

Fire Emblem Gaiden had explored different approaches, which appear even bolder through this remake on 3DS thanks to an absolutely epic staging, a more developed narrative and many modern gameplay adjustments, while staying true to the original Famicom version. Despite some relics from the past and a less strategic philosophy, Echoes : Shadows of Valentia proves that these pragmatic concepts are still relevant today, indeed for the future of the franchise.- Gameblog.fr

To sum-up LEGO City Undercover to a simple GTA with bricks would be a shame. Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 Plus is a very good puzzle / reflex game, for newcomers and veterans who have already tried the first game. It offers new rules that boost the gameplay and renew the fun, and this Switch version also adds a game within the game, with a very cool co-op mode. Monster Hunter Stories 3 breaks free from the constraints of a simple spin-off to finally create its own mythology. Fans will say they didn't need this third installment to appreciate the series, but the fact remains that this is the most successful, generous, and mature entry of them all. A true entry point for both fans and newcomers, it's interesting in many ways, from its skillful and polished gameplay to its blend of exploration and monster collecting. Even its deeply ecological message becomes a reason to offer incredibly addictive gameplay mechanics. It's hard not to enjoy it, even if you wince at certain difficulty spikes, a technical aspect that doesn't always do justice to the art direction, and some entirely unnecessary side quests. Prince of Persia The Lost Crown ticks all the boxes of the perfect metroidvania. It doesn't reinvent the wheel, but appropriates a genre that suits the license perfectly. Artistically very well done, visually appealing, the game is also extremely dynamic and engaging. It's a pleasure to explore this citadel frozen in time, to discover its varied and inspired environments, even if we've seen them a thousand times before. The fact is, the execution is top-notch and the artwork creates the perfect illusion. The icing on the cake is that, in addition to offering a challenge that can be customized from start to finish, this Prince of Persia is extremely generous. The gameplay becomes denser the further you go, and the mechanics merge together to create some memorable platforming and boss battles. Song of Nunu is a must-have for all League of Legends fans. It adds even more substance to the now canonical LoL universe, and it's a delight to discover the story of Nunu and Willump, but that's not all... Many surprises await you too. For neophytes, the game is the perfect gateway to the universe. Very accessible, perhaps even too much so to the point of forgetting the challenge, Song of Nunu is a truly colorful tale. Freljord, the region depicted here, is magnificent. The art direction is superb, and the work Tequila Works has done to give life and soul to our heroes is remarkable. We become attached to the duo and their story. It's a pity that the gameplay is a little clumsy and imprecise. Hell is Us is much more than it appears during the first few minutes. By cleverly combining action and adventure with the solving of arduous puzzles, the game plunges us into a dark and mature atmosphere, characterised by violence inspired by humanity's darkest moments. The themes it addresses are relevant, and it adds a supernatural and mystical dimension to the whole. Hell is Us is not without flaws — that's a fact. Its old-school approach is raw and unembellished, and will clearly not suit everyone. However, its magnificent artistic direction, worked level design and successful soundtrack take precedence over its weaknesses. We were absorbed for several dozen hours in our quest for answers in a war-ravaged country. It's a nice discovery for a game with certain potential.- Gameblog.fr

Monster Hunter is a massive expansion with some huge content (monsters, quests, ranks, sets...) and some good new features that will please everyone. A very good way to keep on hunting alone or with some friends, for dozens, no, hundreds of hours.- Gameblog.fr

Nioh 3 is the culmination of a decade spent exploring different approaches across several games in the same franchise, as well as attempts to create new ones. One might have thought that the transition to an open world would have caused it to lose its identity, but this is not the case. Team Ninja delivers a solid and very demanding action game here, and sometimes even somewhat punishing. Our salvation lies in the gameplay, which is unparalleled in its richness and depth. Two play styles, a vast array of weapons, and a hundred skills allow us to create a personalized gameplay experience that suits our individual preferences. Ultimately, everything culminates in a frenetic dance of blades with what is arguably the most dynamic combat system ever seen in a souls-like game. The legacy of Ninja Gaiden and FromSoftware games is ever-present, but so is the classic open-world formula. Fortunately, the execution is impeccable and engaging enough to completely immerse us in its world. We'll only be pulled out of this immersion by getting lost in the overwhelming amount of loot and an avalanche of statistics that will only appeal to theorycrafting enthusiasts.- Gameblog.fr

Gears 5 is both a very generous and welcoming game. Building on what made the Gears franchise a power house, The Coalition changed the campaign's structure, added useful features to Horde mode, created a fun new coop mode and made the game more accessible for people with disabilities and new players. And it doesn't hurt that the game is really pretty (especially on the Xbox One X) Gears 5 is only being dragged down a bit by a couple technical issues that shouldn't be seen in AAA first party games.- Gameblog.fr

Season A Letter to the Future is the PS5 gem of the beginning of this year. The atmospheric game captivates from the very first seconds thanks to its poetry and melancholy. A splendid and magnetic game as much on the visual level as the writing of its dreamlike universe. An artistic spectacle as sublime as its narrative premise that remains intriguing during the few hours needed to complete it.- Gameblog.fr

Rufus comes back as the anti-hero we met in Deponia. Its clumsiness and immorality are fun to come back to in this hilarious adventure; one that is better weaved than the previous ones. But it's the third episode that will give us what is required to be satisfied (or not) by the story.- Gameblog.fr

Remakes of this quality level, I'd have any day. Tactics Ogre, with its appealing storyline and universe, was already a cult title. This PSP version corrects its shortcomings, enriches it, with revised visuals and new features or adjustments that make it more accessible to newbies, while keeping its unbelievably deep and rich gameplay intact. A rare jewel that will probably remain in your PSP for quite some time.- Gameblog.fr

Even if it isn't as chocking as The Stick of Truth was, South Park: The Fractured But Whole offers a delightful experience for South Park fans. Faithful to the source material, this sequel is both funny, well-written and fun to play as the super hero setting fits the gameplay well. Fans of Trey Parker and Matt Stone's work should really give this game a shot.- Gameblog.fr

Warlords of Draenor does not upset the MMO as we've known it for a few years (accessibility, speed, ease ...), and this may well be the only thing you can blame on it. However, Blizzard managed to make us travel again, and allows us to find the roots of the Warcraft series on Draenor.- Gameblog.fr

Minit is a real success and shows how well a good idea can work if used wisely. This tiny adventure where death strikes at every minute offers a delightful twist to the 2D adventure genre, by forcing the player to play differently. The king has returned and his comeback is incredible. Gameplay, content… Hangar 13 was able to take back perfectly the strength of Top Spin 4 and applied it again with mastery to lay us one of the best sports games of recent years, all disciplines combined. With its Season Pass, Top Spin 2K25 will erase in the future some of these slags, as a base roster quite weak, but its lackluster graphics will stay.- Gameblog.fr

WRC 9 feels more like a big update than a deep evolution of the series. It is a little and already a lot because the game has sufficient quality to justify its purchase. Even though this new story could have been a little more varied in its missions, one can only salute, once again, the talent of the studio. Marvelously implemented, and surprisingly adequate when combined with the western theme, this interpretation of the classic zombie myth is both comprehensive and efficient. The gameplay is profoundly (and interestingly) changed, and as usual with Rockstar, the value for price factor remains its strongest selling point.- Gameblog.fr

The Forest is one of the best survival games to date, especially because of its interesting story, inspired by horror movies like The Descent. Everything is here to remind you that the surrounding nature will do everything to destroy your morale and your life. Oppressive, stressful, but so exhilarating, The Forest is made for any survival games' fans, even if it suffers from weird physics and perfectible AI.- Gameblog.fr

La Noire: The VR Cases takes back eight cases of the original game and adapts them to a virtual reality handling. The result is surprisingly realistic: the player is able to interact with many items, and the boring driving phases are now thrilling to play. The examination sequences are also so much better, even if they kept a few minor flaws form the original. Wherever you play the original game or not, The VR Cases is a must-try for the equipped players.- Gameblog.fr

Even though the Yakuza series is more than 10 years old, Yakuza 0 feels like a fresh new start on PS4. The fact that the story takes place before Yakuza 1 makes Yakuza 0 the perfect starting point for new gamers. The game takes place in an incredible recreation of Japan near the end of its "Bubble Economy" and makes gamers feel as if they are in Japan during that time. The game manages to be both very serious and incredibly funny and, cherry on the cake, gives players a ton of things to do. Yakuza 0 is truly one of the better episodes of the series.- Gameblog.fr
