If the Sandbox idea exists in many games, LittleBigPlanet 2 goes far beyond, almost inventing a new genre we could call "toybox". The user can become a true game designer, and draw inspiration from the really nice Story mode and the multiplayer mini-games, all the way up to designing the proverbial cherry on the cake.- Gameblog.fr

StarCraft II, as expected, is an evolution rather than a revolution of the original. True to its roots, the game doesn't lose itself by trying to reinvent a formula that has proven itself (and still is, actually). StarCraft II shines thanks to a flawless production, fantastic gameplay with loads of of little additions and improvements, and an overhaul of its multiplayer side. With a very demanding high-level gameplay but still very accessible to newbies thanks to its casual mode and matchmaking feature, the latest Blizzard baby is another demonstration of the old saying: old friends are the best. Can't wait for the follow-up!- Gameblog.fr

The young Persona 4 hero thought he would spend a peaceful year, far from his parents, when he was transferred to that small Japanese town... But murders, spirits, mysteries and RPG are never far away when Atlus decides to make a new Persona game. Persona 4 The Golden is undoubtedly the most exciting and baroque adventure on PS Vita, fully packed with brilliant ideas that will let you experience a totally awesome school year.- Gameblog.fr

As refreshing and innovative as ever, Super Mario Bros. Wonder makes a triumphant return on Nintendo Switch 2. The brilliant recipe from 2023 remains intact, enhanced by visual improvements and new bonus content. Players will delight in exploring Bellabel Park, its mini-games, and its hidden secrets. Even though this brand-new area can only be experienced in multiplayer mode, the single-player adventure remains just as flawless and now boasts additional characters to help out the Flower Kingdom. This new version is aimed primarily at those who have never played the original or at fans who love multiplayer experiences.- Gameblog.fr

At the moment, even if there are a lot of very good games, few manage to make you smile as soon as you leave the main menu. Super Mario Bros Wonder is one of those. A rich and colorful adventure which sells us dreams and which takes us into its fantastic and dreamlike universe. A platform game that does a lot of good in the landscape and which as a bonus brings a real boost to a franchise which had a tendency to rely too much on its achievements. New releases galore, artistically sublime and very inspired, full of ingenuity and good ideas… Super Mario Bros Wonder is a must-have to do alone, but also to share with friends, family or complete strangers online. A must-have on Nintendo Switch.- Gameblog.fr

Blizzard had to compromise to manage the expectations of a larger audience. Diablo III still manages to remain truthful to its roots, while still increasing accessibility for newcomers. Some players might be annoyed by those revisions of the formula, but the truth is that Diablo III still is the benchmark of modern hack'n slash games we were praying to get, thanks to incredible production values, polish, sound work and content.- Gameblog.fr

Starfield is a true system seller. More than a game, it's an epic poem. An extremely rich and generous adventure that surprises you every time and when you least expect it. The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is indeed the masterclass we were waiting for. A game of incredible generosity that buries, once again, all the competition. Often copied, never equaled, the formula of Breath of the Wild is here improved by new features that offer even more freedom to the player. Rare are the games capable of stimulating and captivating so many players for dozens and dozens of hours. Hyrule is beautiful and holds more secrets than ever before, which even the most hardcore fans will enjoy discovering. Often epic, constantly fascinating, Tears of the Kingdom is likely to divide on a few points. The most intransigent gamers will be able to criticize it for not doing enough to distinguish itself from the previous game. But what's the point when you've already reached the top and are literally flying over the world ?- Gameblog.fr

Few are the areas where Halo : Reach doesn't benefit from Bungie's obvious intention to deliver a definitive farewell episode. Aside from french voices and music that are simply good (but not as fantastic as one would hope every single aspect to be), and new covenant weapons slightly off when used in the solo campaign, Reach delivers a brilliant solo experience. The story may not be surprising, but it's a well told one. Reach remains awe-inspiring for its implementation, scope, diversity and richness. Those who will have to carry on the flame have a high bar set there for them to surpass.- Gameblog.fr

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is not a game like any other. The kind of game that respects the intelligence of players, with almost complete freedom, without visible guide. Both giddy and capricious, he carried on his shoulders the heavy responsibility to end the saga. In addition to profoundly redefining the infiltration genre and changing its type of narration, it offers the best gameplay in the saga. At the time of the conclusion, more subtle and direct as usual, Hideo Kojima was able to speak to the players, and most importantly leave a unique legacy in the history of gaming. The kind of eternal diamond that will accompany you throughout your life as a gamer. Big Boss, thank you for this last trip.- Gameblog.fr

Uncharted 3 has but one shortcoming: it's where we wanted it to be. To an exhilarating solo adventure, even though it's less surprising and a tiny bit less well-paced than the second episode, add in a gorgeous multiplayer offer that's well-crafted and well thought-out. Even though there are some mistakes here and there (let's say it's youth related), F1 2010 probably remains one of the best F1 racing games ever. Battlefield 6 marks the franchise's grand return to the podium of the best FPS games of its generation. The change of direction for the license and this long-awaited return to its roots does it a world of good, and we're loving it. The campaign may not be very long and the AI is completely useless, but the simple fact of rediscovering a hint of the Bad Company 2 feeling is enough to make it enjoyable. This is a bonus that complements the main attraction, which is the multiplayer mode. The content is generous and we even get a new game mode, which turns out to be a very pleasant surprise. With around forty weapons, dozens of gadgets and accessories, and lots of cosmetics to unlock, it's hard to complain, especially when you know that more free content is on the way. Still, the number of maps is a bit stingy, especially since they're not all memorable, but that's pretty much all we can fault it for. The gameplay feels great and largely takes center stage, which is what matters most in the end. The multiplayer is unlike any other, it's classic Battlefield, intense and immersive, sometimes even more cinematic than the campaign. We want more, it's spectacular.- Gameblog.fr

The story and the world of Xenoblade Chronicles X are both truly massive, as if they gathered all Tetsuya Takahashi's distinct influences. Ghostrunner 2 is a must-have for all fans of challenges and fast FPS. Be careful, it is clearly not for everyone. We are talking here about a fairly demanding game in which you simply must not take a single damage. However, the formula is at its peak here. This second part goes even faster and further than its predecessor. We are constantly stimulated, we are never bored for a single second and it is very difficult to switch off. Ghostrunner 2 also achieves the feat of never frustrating thanks to clever checkpoints and a freedom of action that leaves room for experimentation. The only downside is the motorbike phases which are sorely lacking in precision with the keyboard/mouse combo and can be quite difficult. But if that's the price to pay to have fun all the rest of the time, we sign.- Gameblog.fr

Paper Mario's heritage still floats over The Origami King, but didn't cause writer's block with this blank page, folded upside down thanks to the fantastic imagination applied to the staging and the story, decidedly audacious. Intelligent Systems' inventiveness also deploys through the ingenious architecture of this interconnected world and the tactical dimension unrolled by the battles, that become real puzzles. Such a well hammered increase of depth doesn't give headaches though, the main quest unwrapping along the realm's spread richness, so this moustached RPG asserts itself as the undisputed lord of its very own domain.- Gameblog.fr

With Civilization 7, Firaxis successfully modernizes the franchise while staying true to its legacy. The evolution of eras, more strategic diplomacy, and the new military system bring a much-needed refresh to the series. The visual style, reminiscent of Civilization V, combined with an immersive soundtrack, further enhances the experience. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 gets bolder in every direction, with a colorful character design backed by a caricatural tone to mask the gravity of the purpose underneath, a denser world deployed vertically, that literally breathes life through atmospheric compositions and folklore. Some ideas deserved more development, but most concepts are organically integrated, the versatile talents of the Blades sharpening the whole gameplay. A way to cut deeper into this huge adventure enriched by the variety and random nature of such symbiotic support creations, while its slight impression of déjà vu only comes from the essential elements scavenged to forge the saga's most refined iteration. It may be time to alter the formula. Ben even so, the multiplayer has been refined, all the while becoming more accessible. Overall, it's an action-adventure must-have.- Gameblog.fr

Like an arrow, local multiplayer cannot reach people further than the neighborhood, but that doesn't make it inefficient, particularly through close combat. Hence Towerfall Ascension proves how powerful archery can be, provided that it relies on a masterful execution and a sizeable army. With such a large choice of weapons and a clever use of terrain, the most desperate situations can be overcome, even alone. Thanks to warlord Matt Thorson - the creator of this amazing battle alchemy - here's a great reason to renew local rivalries and appreciate all kinds of human relations, friendly or not.- Gameblog.fr

Mortal Kombat 1 is a pure marvel. This reboot offers a news future for the license without altering the original material, quite the contrary. It’s one of the most beautiful games of these last years. Fighting has never been so exciting and exhilarating, not to mention the always so gory and skillfully staged fatalities.- Gameblog.fr

Beyond is both better and worse than its illustrious predecessor Heavy Rain. It features a more varied gameplay, a better story, talented Hollywood actors and outstanding graphics... but it also lacks something: the ability to make truly decisive choices throughout the adventure. Significant changes you can make story-wise are actually concentrated at the end. However, games of this type and this quality are still too rare to deny yourself the pleasure.- Gameblog.fr

Project Cars 2 is not perfect, but it proposes a very complete racing game, generous and customizable on a large number of parameters. If you decide to invest in Project Cars 2, know that you put your feet in a universe that will require hours of effort but also proportional pleasure.- Gameblog.fr

Hades 2 is a masterful sequel. Melinoe's adventure surpasses Zagreus's in absolutely every way: more robust and enjoyable gameplay; more diverse progression that offers an infinite number of ways to complete a run, each as satisfying as the next; titanic content literally doubled compared to the original title; divine artistic direction, Supergiant Games offers us yet another Boon worthy of the gods. The title has everything it needs to be included in the pantheon of the best rogue-lites of all time, or even to win the GOTY 2025 title. Such generosity, however, is to its detriment when it comes to the true ending of the game, which is unnecessarily long to unlock, and terribly disappointing given the time spent to reach it. However, this will only concern the most dedicated players, and ultimately does not detract so much from the immense qualities of a title that has everything of a true masterpiece.- Gameblog.fr

Undeniably, Darksiders II is a gem shaped by passionate gamers for gamers. It's beautiful, it's epic, it's super-rich and varied, and even though the ending falls short compared to the journey itself, it would be a crime not to pay tribute to the impressive amount of work and effort Vigil put into this game.- Gameblog.fr

Silent Hill 2 Remake is a sensational comeback for the franchise and Bloober Team’’s best game to date. Far from being just an opportunistic game, it is both a love letter to the saga and a successful retelling of the original one. Faithful and very different, this new game modernizes psychological horror without ever abandoning its old-school roots. Silent Hill 2 Remake is deeply scary and stressful. Besides being very good remake it is simply an excellent survival horror that honors the license and gives us great hope for the future.- Gameblog.fr

Hunt: Showdown is fantastic. The pleasure is immediate and very long-lasting as long as its difficulty does not upset you. It's a visceral and immersive experience that you should absolutely not miss if you are a fan of cooperative games. Knights of the Round Cable is probably one of the best mobile games currently ; a simple yet completely addictive gameplay revolving around basic physics mechanics, and a perfectly well crafted touch control combined for a single purpose : getting the most gems out of a level by revolving around attach points with your little knight and his cable. Complete with in-app purchase for lazy gamers, it's one of those "Zone-Enabling" titles.- Gameblog.fr

The exotic holidays of Luigi's Mansion 3 look like a phantasmagorical comedy, each floor from this hotel presenting a play of its own which revisits the classic horror movies themes, thanks to Next Level Games' fantastic imagination through mischievous stagecraft, wonderful riddles and stunning ectoplasmic battles. Beyond the already reinforced ghost hunter gear, such elements are combined marvelously, if not even better in duo, since the slimy characteristics of Gooigi both fluidify and enrich the whole experience. A team spirit encouraged by the terrific multi player modes, in particular the more stupendously trapped ScareScraper, bound to haunt the long hallowed eves slamming with friends endlessly.- Gameblog.fr

The solo may not be revolutionary, but it remains solid; the production values are spotless, Battle.net was revised for added comfort, and it supports a multiplayer that could very well be described as a dangerous time-consuming wormhole you won't be able to escape. There's no denying it: StarCraft 2 remains the mother of all STR games.- Gameblog.fr

Sea of Thieves is highly recommendable in 2024. Beautiful to tears, gripping and incredibly immersive, it's a real bubble of fresh air to do with a group of friends who are also fans of piracy. Accessible, but deep, complete and full of things to discover, the game does not offer any redundant mechanics and never forces us to grind unlike many service games. So much so that it’s even quite destabilizing at first. But once you have crossed this threshold, once you agree to play just... to play and have fun, and not to perform and win, the pleasure is increased tenfold. A must have to discover with your friends. On the other hand, for solo players, Sea of Thieves will not really be recommended. Not only do we lose a dimension of camaraderie on which the game relies heavily, but as a bonus it will be difficult to get by, unless you opt for peaceful mode without any players to face. But here again, we completely lose what makes all the sea salt of the game and that would be a real shame.- Gameblog.fr

Rayman Legends didn't age at all. It's still one of the most well-crafted and most gorgeous platformers you can play today, alone or with friends. The stakes were high after It Takes Two. How to get past GOTY 2021? Hazelight found the answer with Split Fiction. A true gameplay success, it's never a pleasure to hold the controller in your hand. Josef Fares' teams have not lost any of their inventiveness, either, and manage to offer us a gameplay experience we never tire of. Most of the storyline could have done with a bit more surprise, but it's a solid one that works from start to finish. What more could you ask for? It's another nugget from a studio that puts the pleasure of playing above all else.- Gameblog.fr

The surprise is there: even though we'd have thought that Far Cry 3 would have been a "crazy open world shooter". It is, but it goes far beyond that in its depiction of its main character: the island. It's generous, enticing, well-designed and well-crafted - the only less-interesting part being the multiplayer, even though there are some very nice ideas there as well.- Gameblog.fr

The fresh thrill of discovering an uninhabited atoll tends to fade once such wild life gets cosier with crafted items, buildings, shops and incoming residents, until it looks like a village from the previous iterations. But the larger size of this wholly reshapable island, the customization's vertiginous level and the improved community interactions create an even more fertile ecosystem, hence Animal Crossing can slowly though decidedly stare further, towards New Horizons, equipped with an ever updating NookPhone.- Gameblog.fr

And I feel like that’s the point of Main Assembly: if you think it’s possible, it probably is. Through experimentation and iteration (and a little patience), you can solve any problem the game throws at you. Much like its Early Access release, Main Assembly will learn from its mistakes and probably capture the hearts and minds of a fair few players along the way.- Gameblog.fr
