Thanks to a "back to the roots" formula, Criterion succeeded in restoring the right path for the Need for Speed series : the chase HQ style pursuits between the police and the crazed drivers. It manages to do this with an inspired approach, borrowing from the original game or more recent ones, like with the finesse and fun inducing in-game equipment. The Autolog feature is a true revolution community-wise, and the online play guaranties hours of added fun. Can we ask for more ? Yes ; a less "heavy" handling of the cars, for an even more dynamic urban rodeo. The best NFS game since the third installment.- Gameblog.fr

If you're an adventure games fan and didn't yet try this legend of the genre, you can't miss this new special edition. Now if you're already a fan knowing the whole game by heart, quoting the best punch lines during high society galas, here's an opportunity to dive in again and rediscover this mythical game under a new light. The only thing we were disappointed with was the creators' commentary: it fell short of our expectations, otherwise it would have garnered 5 stars easy.- Gameblog.fr

With Age of Empires Online, Robot Entertainment offers a real-time strategy experience for a large public in terms of solo play, and probably one that's more interesting in PVP. But in order to enjoy it, it's really best to purchase a premium civilization. It still remains pretty straightforward and classic, but wrapped up in a nice, overall production, with very polished equipment management, crafting and decoration options for your city.- Gameblog.fr

After two attempts, IO Interactive has finally succeeded in transforming Hitman World of Assassination into a highly recommended VR experience. In fact, it's one of the best virtual reality games on the market. Sometimes, going away leads to refinding yourself, as Shantae's not so paradisiac holidays show. Her change of look finally accomplished in very high definition, the half-genie appears even more gracious and naughtier, thanks to subtle pens strokes. While it's rather a reinvention than a creation, WayForward focused on the series' fundamentals, through the construction of an arborescent world both massive and complex. A depth progressively revealed by the talents of our famous belly dancer, her seamless transformations proving particularly polyvalent. And the additional skills from the collectible monster cards ultimately enhance Shantae and the Seven Sirens, an almost irresistible call indeed.- Gameblog.fr

MVC3 will, no doubt, seduce any fan, thanks to its spectacular gameplay and production, but also thanks to its accessibility and varied cast. But, when your take some time to think about it a little, it's hard not to consider that Capcom's title stays quite light in terms of game modes, of online play, and almost insulting in its DLC policy. It remains a awe-inspiring show of sound and lights, with a unique atmosphere. Hard to miss.- Gameblog.fr

Great work from Gunfire Games 2. Remnant 2 is a demanding title, but one that always rewards you appropriately. Surprisingly, the title proves to be much more subtle than it seems, whether it's for its brilliant boss or for the few puzzles that punctuate the exploration. The game's insane bestiary also contributes to maintaining constant interest, as does the title's superb artistic direction. Despite it's poor story, Remnant 2 offers an epic journey. A pure success.- Gameblog.fr

On Nintendo Switch, Dungeon of the Endless is still an excellent and cruel mix of Rouge-like, Tower Defense, RPG and strategy. Port is good, even if it stumbles occasionally when there are too many enemies on screen, and it plays well, may you progress with a pad configuration and/or touch screen. It always has something to bring you down, but is charming and deep enough to urge you to go for another try and be more thoughtful. And lucky. Brilliant.- Gameblog.fr

L.A. Noire is undoubtedly a foray into a new kind of adventure game, and most specifically of investigation games. Two years later, some dark clouds are still shrouding Sky : Children of the Light, from technological or ergonomic points of view. But these prove superficial ways to consider ThatGameCompany's work, since it affirms a unique experience towards universality, expressed through a poetic style, an empathic approach and above all shared emotions, even more powerful thanks to cross-play. This philosophy echoes with the harmoniously introduced story of The Little Prince, that highlights such freedom of investment or interpretation.- Gameblog.fr

An excellent and spectacular football game. New animations and more accurate physical interactions bring to the last edition formula some great ways to play - that remind us of the glorious era of PES. A.I., especially attackers and keepers, can be relied on, it's smooth, fun to play and quite deep, and there's a lot for players to master in terms of construction and tactical options. With this new title, Frozenbyte has chosen to leave aside the semi-disappointing 3D experimentation of the previous part to focus on the 2.5D action / reflection formula that made its success. We find what makes the series so charming, with its enchanting universe, its trio of heroes with complementary capabilities and the opportunity to live this adventure up to four, locally or online. If the regulars of the series will grumble perhaps a little considering the few important innovations proposed by this new episode, Trine 4 remains an independent game very pleasant by his concept, his aspect, his lightness.- Gameblog.fr

UFC Undisputed 2010 is far more than a big update, despite its little flaws (most notably its disappointing online mode). The game is incredibly comprehensive, much more fluid and well animated than the previous one, and will undoubtedly please MMA fans. Granted, the gameplay may not be a revolutionary one, but it is substantial enough, and quite technical (maybe too much, some might say), to last you weeks and even months. Forza 5 does not really keeps all its promises (reduced content compared to Forza 4, no weather conditions, night racing or pit stops, visually downgraded compared to what we had seen at E3...), but it is still the strongest game for this Xbox One launch. A safe bet for all racing fans, they will find a great game they will play for a loooong time.- Gameblog.fr

Yakuza Kiwami 2 is clearly the update Yakuza 2 deserved. The very talented people over at Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios recreated the riveting Yakuza 2 plot while adding new side quests and activities. Even if a couple of elements from the original game are now missing, Kiwami 2 has more than enough content to keep players glued to their screens. It must also be noted that the Dragon Engine looks and runs better than it did in Yakuza 6. All in all, Kiwami 2 another great Yakuza game that fans of the series should not miss.- Gameblog.fr

Halo Infinite clearly marks a return to form for the Halo Franchise. The feeling is there, the music is there and the setting is there too. And 343 manages to make the game feel familiar all the while adding some new, and welcome, features. Halo Infinite also feels like the most intimate Master Chief story yet. It's just too bad that gamers will now have to wait for months to be able to play the campaign in coop, a staple of the series.- Gameblog.fr

Total War Warhammer III is a nice final episode even if it doesn't revolutionize the license. The new factions offer a lot of possibilities to play differently and this is a very good point in a Total War episode. The multiplayer is totally transformed through the end of the turn-based game and it's surely one of the most important positive points of the game.- Gameblog.fr

Consider 3 retrogaming lovers (Pix'n Love Editions, PastaGames developers, and Bulky Pix publishers), cook them in the same pot, and the resulting delicacy will be Pix'n Love Rush on the iPhone. A true homage to oldschool platformers, the game has simple and diabolically precise controls. Heavily reliant on a carefully crafted level-design, its 2 modes (collect the bonuses, dodge the maluses in the first one, and a crazy time attack) may drive some players mad before they get to improve their skills, but its fun lies there. A pure game of scoring - still one of the best past-times ever invented.- Gameblog.fr

Madden NFL 16 is much better than previous ones adding tactical optimisations which benefit the game. The same is true of the rendering engine. It finally meets up to the expectations of FIFA in terms of content.- Gameblog.fr

Rise of the Owlverlord is a nice addition to the first Giana Sisters game. The excellent "twist" mechanics are quite the same, the difficulty is more balanced and we have 6 new levels and 1 boss for less than 5 euros/dollars.- Gameblog.fr

Kingdom Two Crowns is a little jewel. A pleasure in terms of exploration, survival and management that can be fully played in cooperation. The game has a splendid artistic direction and an extraordinary sound atmosphere. Almost dreamlike. Too bad the game looks more like a New Lands DLC than a real new episode.- Gameblog.fr

Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age is a beautiful remaster which makes us love the game even more. Thanks to the second job addition, the fast forward rhythm or the magnificent re-orchestration of the original soundtrack, this version deserves a run, whether you've already finished the original game or not.- Gameblog.fr

Crazier than ever, this Megamix compiles the very best of Rhythm Heaven, not only through the stages, remastered or new, but also with a formula improved by a more accessible approach and the proven digital controls. Here is the perfect occasion to (re)discover this unique combination of music and game design literally pushed beyond the stars, a much more ambitious performance than it seems, that deserves rapturous applause, waiting for an encore.- Gameblog.fr

For hardcore gamers in need of a huge challenge, Fenix Rage is definitely a must-have. It is incredibly well-executed in terms of gameplay and level design. This lovely platformer feels like some sheet music that would punish you each time you're not exactly in the right timing. Which can repulse a lot of players eventually but will motivate some others to be busy for quite some time.- Gameblog.fr

Jagged Alliance 3 is a wise pick in the tactical game genre, despite some balancing issues. The game delivers fun from start to finish, serving as a genuine tribute to the action cinema of the '80s and '90s. You almost expect to see Stallone and Schwarzenegger pop up at the start of each mission. It's entertaining, aesthetically polished, and above all, it's exhilarating.- Gameblog.fr

In Death is a VR roguelite game where you explore randomly generated level and shoot at your enemies with a bow or a crossbow. The feeling is great with 2 PS Move, and also easy to play with a pad. A great game to discover, with a great universe, but no narration.- Gameblog.fr

It's hard not to fall for such an offer, of 3 great games for less than a full retail HD game. But at the same time, one can't help but notice some lazyness in the remastering process. Efforts have been reduced to a minimum, with no additionnal content whatsoever, and there are even some technical shortcomings (frame rate drops on MGS2 and 3). For the nostalgia, for the collection, for the fans, or those who never had the chance to play them, it's still a cult saga with memorable sequences.- Gameblog.fr

Death Stranding 2 isn't a great game, but a great work of art, far from the usual blockbusters. In more ways than one, it's not the kind of experience that everyone puts their hands on. You need to have a discerning eye, an open mind, and a certain curiosity for oddities, in addition to accepting that its structure and gameplay loop are absolutely redundant. If you approach it like any other title, it can be long, even boring at times, too easy certainly, and lazy in many ways. But the real experience lies elsewhere: in its concept of sharing and hyper connection, as well as in its deserted open world that we dress up with our creations while trying to put the pieces of a fractured and frightened humanity back together. It is also found in its convoluted main plot and its universe, which is difficult to approach but intriguing, and which keeps us on the edge of our seats until the end. It's a AAA UFO that sometimes goes overboard and doesn't particularly seek to please everyone, but it should still leave a lasting impression in one way or another. Love it, adore it, or hate it, Death Stranding 2 will leave no one unmoved. And just to be able to achieve such a contrast is art.- Gameblog.fr

Sonic Colours represents some of the blue hedgehog's finest 3D hours. As it was only released on the Wii, it deserved to be remastered for more powerful hardware. And now that it has, it's a pleasure to run through Eggman's theme park at 60 fps. Sonic Team was clearly inspired when it came up with Sonic Colours' level design and Wisp power ups. Everything still works in 2021. Sonic Colours Ultimate is the game that can be shown to those who say that Sonic and 3D don't mix.- Gameblog.fr

By looking towards the western designs, while keeping the Japanese strong points, Dragon's Dogma will make a significant contribution to the ARPG genre. Its open world, beautiful mythic creatures and chara-design, and probably the best and most spectacular combat action of the genre, it draws players into its world, even though it's far from perfect. Indeed, the story fails to drive the player forward, and the world lacks life and soul, but the ton of good little ideas, the pawn system, and the overall ambition of the title make it fun nonetheless. Enjoying it also allows us to dream of a bright future for the Japanese creators who gave birth to this unusual game for their culture.- Gameblog.fr
