There's more love and care lavished on The Master Chief Collection than you see in countless other big-money, brand new blockbuster releases. The fact that the games themselves are fantastic fun online and off is the cherry on the icing.

In terms of pure content, Halo: The Master Chief Collection is simply massive. In terms of the content itself, this package is astounding. Four of the best shooter campaigns ever made, in one box, all running at 1080p at 60fps, Halo has never looked so good. Throw in over 100 multiplayer maps and a bevy of Halo themed extras and you have a recipe for a true system seller.

Longtime Halo fans get the opportunity to quickly and easily revisit their favourite levels, or jump into a reinvigorated multiplayer; newcomers to the series get the best, most seamless experience of the Halo series.

If you like games that are so big you can immerse yourselves in them for months, The Master Chief Collection offers excellent value. It’s an absolute monolith of a package, beautifully presented for the 21st century. And with the remastered next-gen GTA V due to arrive shortly, it seems that, at least as far as video games are concerned, nostalgia is the future.

A bit of a disaster...Why? It's a half-assed, crudely cobbled-together product prone to crashing, lockups (and as of press time) absolutely non-functional multiplayer.

This may as well be the only halo game you will ever need, and the best one you will own. I've been a huge halo fan for most of my life and this was not a disappointment. One thing tho, you cannot rank up in individual games, so instead of clumping all the games together into one, this game is more of a halo arcade, which kinda made me sad. But whatever, money can't buy happiness but it sure as hell buy you more halo :() Expand

The Master Chief Collection is a must buy for Halo and Xbox fans alike.

The collection bundles Halo 1, 2, 3 and 4 with 60 FPS on all and a very nicely re-skinned and touched up edition of Halo 2.

One important thing to note is that the Remastered edition of Halo 1 also makes an appearance here and a nice touch was in the way you transition in both Halo 1 and 2 between the remastered and original additions no longer includes a fade to black, its instant and very fun to play with, you will not believe how far gaming has come.

But halo is nothing without multiplayer, I will admit, I was very frustrated with the multiplayer being broken so long after launch, but since that time I have enjoyed hundreds of extremely fun online games.

For example being able to go back and play Halo 1 online as it was meant to be played was a very rewarding experience and really took me back to my childhood.

It should also be noted that the Master Chief Collection has also gained Spartan Ops since launch which featured in Halo 4.

All in all one of the most generous and well put together bundles in the history of gaming and I'd also like to give props to 343 for rewarding us with Halo ODST later this year for our troubles, one of my favorite games of the Franchise and I very much look forward to it.

Replay old memories with new graphics and sound effects. The new cinematics really adds up to the game. Plus, you have all 3 other games with it. It's a very good deal overall for only 60$. It's a must have for your game collection on your xbox one.

The only thing negative things are maybe loading that are too long, sometimes some FPS drop on campaign. Also, matchmaking are broken right now since it takes an eternity to find players. I hope it will get fix soon enough :)

This game does feel like it was made by people who deeply cared about the series and it shows. This remains one of the best games on the XBOX One and the new cross-progression with PC is super convenient and the multiplayer is very fun with only a few people, but with more than 6 then its different and with 16 people its just chaos. It's still the classic games we loved 10 years ago, but now the controls feels so clunky and the environments fell barren and lonely. Master Chief moves so slow! I guess sprinting in games has really spoiled me. I joined a random big team slayer game and we picked a map from Halo 2. It wasn't a remastered map either. The graphics were...1080p Xbox graphics. I couldn't believe it. I'm playing Halo 2 on an Xbox One. What's the point? Just release a new Halo instead of this. I'll say it again, it is still the games we played and loved and four games in one is quite a deal, so I honestly can't give this less than an 8. In the end, it's just a little disappointing. Expand
