Helldivers 2 was a pleasant surprise and represents the perfect evolution of that twin stick shooter that many players fell in love with back in 2016. Apart from the server problems, which seem to be in the process of being resolved, and some technical problems which we hope will disappear with future updates, the shooter by Arrowhead Game Studios is unmissable for anyone who appreciates the genre and has the opportunity to enjoy it in the company of a few friends. If we then consider the approach to microtransactions and the budget price, there are very few reasons not to take a walk in space and spread democracy.

The Elder Scrolls Online Necrom is the expansion that was needed for a game that was beginning to feel the weight of the years. The new maps are fun to explore and unique, full of points of interest and charismatic enemies to face. Furthermore, the lore in which Zenimax Online has sunk his hands to write the plot is dark and mysterious: we can't wait to discover its future developments for the world of Tamriel. Finally, the class that signs the DLC, the Arcanist, is fun to use and flexible, as well as the one with the most rewarding learning curve and the most "explosive" rotations. Seeing is believing.

The wait was undoubtedly well rewarded, given the results fielded by Wreckfest. A fun arcade racing game, enhanced by a damage system with few equals on consoles and a wide variety of cars, races and tracks. We would have expected some new entries compared to the PC version in circulation for over a year, above all to avoid the risk, in the long run, of a certain repetition in the mechanics of the Career.

Overall, Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is a great example of the series and even considering the contents of the package as a whole, we can only continue to believe that the result of the work done by Treyarch is the best among those that have arrived on the market in recent times. The campaign knows how to entertain throughout its duration with well-timed missions, the Zombies mode has all the right features to please long-time fans and the multiplayer is as fun as it is frenetic thanks to the introduction of the Omnimovement, the absolute protagonist of this chapter.

Ultimately, Lost Judgment is a great sequel, characterized by very inspired writing and a great dose of irreverence. A braver second chapter, more refined and extremely more elegant, which offers the possibility of being played by all those who have never had direct contact with the first episode or with the Yakuza saga. RGG Studio proves once again to be one of the most competent teams on the square, capable of diversifying the gameplay as few, giving full importance to the narrative component of their productions and deliberately omitting some technical details that are however irrelevant for the success of the project. Sure, maybe more could have been done with regards to exploiting the features of Dualsense, but this is more of a wasted opportunity than a real lack.

Already the author of the appreciated remake of Trials of Mana, the Xeen studio has subjected Romancing SaGa 2 to a targeted rejuvenation work limited almost exclusively to the technical component, making just a couple of adjustments to the gameplay and the plot. Overall, the final result is more than satisfactory, however this could and should have been the right opportunity to enrich the characterization of the characters, who today as then continue to be insufficiently cared for. If on the one hand we suggest its recovery to all lovers of the genre and to anyone who has not yet tried their hand at the Inheritance System, a mechanic that is always tasty and truly unique in its genre, on the other we are well aware that the lack of localization of the texts in Italian could cause more than a few headaches to non-users of English.

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog has many merits, above all the ability to once again decline the character of Sonic in another genre. By giving the right depth to each member of the cast, SEGA continues its worthy commitment to provide more layering to its universe. However, while the solution to the mystery is quite simple, the interlude minigame ends up - in the final stages - also being quite frustrating. In short, net of the short duration, the work appears a bit unbalanced in its playful components. If Atelier Sophie 2: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Dream had been published before the furious revolution unleashed by the two Atelier Ryza, probably some of its imperfections would have seemed little compared to its merits. For some inexplicable reason Gust has in fact preferred to give up all the improvements devised in recent years to re-propose obsolete mechanics that have ended up obscuring the most important innovations of the package, such as Double Actions or the removal of the transitions between battle and exploration. In short, Atelier Sophie 2 confirms itself as a product designed almost exclusively for long-time fans who may not wait to embrace the crazy and at the same time tender bombarole by Kirchen Bell.

Accessibility is the watchword of F1 23. Codemasters has not limited itself to the homework and has rearranged the driving model to make it less unpredictable and, above all, more suitable for those who do not compete with the wheel and pedals. The return of the Braking Point mode and the renewed F1 World hub add even more substance to an excellent content offer. The graphics/physics engine is starting to show some signs of aging but is still valid. The ups and downs of the AI are unfortunately still part of the experience, but on the other hand the multiplayer sector has been redesigned and should satisfy all players a little. This incarnation is ultimately good: in the future, however, we expect Codemasters to take more clear steps forward for the series.

Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3+4 is a must-see for those who grew up on skateboarding (whether enjoyed or played first-hand). It relies on gameplay that hasn't lost its shine, with the exception of a few small uncertainties related to Spine Transfer, and it knows how to create addiction with dozens of selectable skaters and the iconic parks that the guys from Iron Galaxy have given us back in a modernized form. The team has reworked the career of the fourth chapter in a way that isn't entirely convincing, but on the other hand it has offered fans new levels, a fun brand new online mode and secret skaters who are up to the task, all on a more than pleasant audiovisual basis. In short, if you're a fan of Birdman, you love the THPS genre, or you simply want to get closer to the world of skateboarding while paying more attention to the spectacle than the simulation, these great restored games are for you.

Eastward is one of the brightest examples of what are the true qualities of independent development: a real pearl that deserves to be discovered, perfectly capable of carving out its space in the niche of instant videogame cult. The wealth of modes is undeniable, as is the effort made to make My Career more narrative-driven, the host city more vibrant, and the challenges more tactical and interesting. However, the fact that the experience is complex for newcomers is partly a limitation. This writer believes the series needs to work better on depth, with a more accessible and less punishing gameplay formula.
