For those who have never played Quake, the remastered is an unmissable opportunity to fill this gap and to appreciate one of the first person shooters that marked an era. Carmack and Romero with their desire to innovate (and their quarrels!) Have brought the video game industry to a new dimension: Quake is the game that has marked - indelibly - the history of id Software. After the "earthquake", in fact, nothing was the same as before. Waiting for a well-deserved reboot / remake, let's console ourselves with this version that offers new content to try and the ability to relive - with a few tears - the frenzy and magic of the old and beloved first person shooters.

With Jurassic World Evolution 3, Frontier finally manages to close the loop. After years of experimentation, the series has found its best form: freer, more alive, more consistent with the idea of a world that evolves on its own. Natural reproduction, an improved editor, and the multi-park structure give breadth and depth to a game that, for the first time, transcends mere visual wonder. Of course, some limitations remain. The economy is never truly a tough nut to crack, and the interface, though refined, still retains that "Frontier management" heaviness that occasionally slows you down. But the bottom line is clear: Evolution 3 is the best entry in the series, solid, enjoyable, and capable of surprising you at the right moments. It's a management game that's played calmly, without the pressure of optimizing everything, and that's precisely why it works. Frontier hasn't rewritten the rules of the genre, but it has finally made them its own. He understood that the charm of Jurassic World lies not in control, but in a fragile but believable balance, and when it works, the game conveys the feeling of watching something breathing.

Assassin's Creed Shadows marks the continuation, and perhaps the end, of the cycle that began with Origins. However, the episode set in Japan also represents the downward spiral, in terms of quality of some components of the gameplay and content offering, of a structural model that is starting to feel the weight of the years. Shadows is a game that wants to please everyone and that does everything more or less well, but without truly excelling in anything, and - unfortunately - without leaving its mark. The epic of shinobi and samurai leaves open several glimmers of hope for the future. But we hope that, both with DLC tied to the story of Naoe and Yasuke and with the next episodes, the saga can truly start again, rediscovering the ability to amaze us.

WWE 2K24 does not reinvent the wheel, but expands both the match pool of the last chapter and the possibilities of the combat system, which continues to work well despite some historical rough edges. The Showcase mode has some imperfections, but it's a pearl for any WrestleMania fan and the two My Rise careers aren't bad at all either. If we add to this the many small innovations in practically every dimension of the experience, which is based on valid but not exciting technological solutions, the reasons that made us appreciate this year's edition appear even more evident. The Visual Concepts title is a great wrestling playground, with a disproportionate number of wrestlers and a keen eye for local multiplayer, and represents a solid foundation on which to build the future of the franchise.

Despite having inherited most of the mechanics from the second episode, the last fundamental piece of the trilogy has the merit of having speeded up and streamlined every single aspect of the production, giving the player a decidedly more engaging rhythm. Both the narrative and the gameplay boast a depth never touched before by the Atelier series, which however continues to sin from a graphic point of view. Fate/Samurai Remnant surprised us. The stories of the swordsman Iori and the cryptic Saber struggling with the Waxing Moon Ritual are entertaining on both a playful and narrative level. Remnant is not satisfied with being "just" a product for fans, even if there would have been nothing wrong with it, on the contrary. The more experienced will have a world of details to discover in the maps, and familiar characters to meet again. Samurai Remnant carefully chooses the key elements of the saga to borrow, motivates them and explains them to novices in understandable terms. The title is therefore first and foremost a lively anime-style action video game, perhaps just a little too diluted at times, with a mysterious plot that branches into multiple endings, charismatic protagonists and an excellent artistic sector. For this reason we are almost sure that, once the adventure is over, many will want to deepen the links with the long-lived and tangled history of which it is part.

Patapon 2 is not the title we wanted. The team left the gameplay unchanged and repetitive on the level design; the enitre game looks like an add-on of the previous title instead of a new one. The positive points are the new upgrade system of our army, a good multiplayer mode, and an improved longevity, but the game it's always the same.

We were literally ecstatic with the way the wheels deform the muddy ground, or the resistance of the water when trying to wade deep puddles or streams with a medium unsuitable for this task.

Rollerdrome is a small product and the low price does not fully justify the speed with which you can reach the credits. Despite being designed to be replayed several times, the Roll7 title does not have the necessary prerequisites to encourage users to spend a lot of time in the available levels or thanks to the endgame mode. That said, we are talking about a splendid pastime with a very effective core gameplay, capable of driving crazy even those who are not used to approaching experiences of this type.

Final Fantasy XV is a product that perfectly combines two opposing and irreconcilable souls. On the one hand there is the desire to revive a once great saga, an RPG focuses on the value of exploration, and on the amount of secondary activities and diversions. On the other hand there is a murky "dark side", made of an ineffective and bleak narrative. Considering the number of hours spent in the Lucis kingdom, you can not help but think that this narrative hitch represents after all a small part of the overall game experience.

Saints & Sinners does not take advantage of the official license of The Walking Dead in a particularly brilliant way, leaving the connections with Kirkmann's work or its adaptations substantially implicit, and therefore presents itself as a survival set in a world so fascinating, but also very generic.
