Its most obvious faults, in addition to a limp writing and quests that are not always interesting, are all found in the problems that have also characterized Summerset: that is, a structured "campaign" to be enjoyed alone, as well as badly integrated with a game world populated by hundreds of people.

Resident Evil Village Gold Edition boasts a really wide range of content, able to satisfy the tastes of a wide range of fans. Fans of the iterations of the series in the third person will find a good reason to relive the exploits of Ethan Winters once again, while those who do not hold up too well the tension could use the new view to manage it better, so as to recover an adventure with some. less focused idea but with an enveloping atmosphere, a level playful substrate and a visual presentation of great caliber. In addition to the chance to experience the final piece of the Winters family mosaic with Shadows of Rose, Resident Evil fans can have fun - and lots of it! - with Additional Missions, a Mercenary expansion that uses iconic and often ruthless fighters to put dark smiles on the faces of those who take on their shoes.

Hironobu Sakaguchi's last great undertaking, Fantasian: Neo Dimension reminded us of the reasons why we loved the father of Final Fantasy and his conception of JRPG, without however equaling the greatness of his most successful titles. Both the historical flaws recorded in the original version, such as the poor characterization of the antagonists, the verbosity of the dialogues or the inconsistent balance of the difficulty, and the problems encountered in the re-release, such as the drops in frame rate and the long loading times that currently afflict the Nintendo Switch version, weigh heavily on the final evaluation of the product, which nevertheless remains solid and enjoyable. We recommend recovering it to true fans of the genre.

A must for Xbox Game Pass subscribers, and absolutely recommended for everyone else, The Artful Escape of Francis Vendetti tells with irony and intelligence the path of artistic and inner growth of a talented teenage musician. Through the celestial bodies of the Stupefacosm, the protagonist and the player learn together to follow only the rhythm of their electric guitar, among extraordinarily inspired landscapes. Even in the face of a playful sector that does not represent the fulcrum of the work, the only regret remains a rhythm game soul that could have dared more. But in the face of the power of the proposed experience, we consider it a slight observation that we hope will be heard in a desirable second journey into the Stupefacosm.

F.I.S.T .: Forged in Shadow Torch is an imperfect production but by no means trivial: a metroidvania that does its own without excelling in any area, in any case denoting a certain expertise on the part of a team that is anything but accustomed to global stages. What is missing are only a bit of an overall vision, a sense of proportion (because the adventure is paradoxically even a thread too long) and a basic balance: sins of youth, however excusable, which cannot really affect the value of a title that can be played with a certain pleasure.

The latest chapter is an experience that moves in balance between continuity and timid attempts at innovation, which brings with it some shortcomings from the previous episode (above all a poor general cleaning and an unresponsive AI), but which manages to compose an epic full of events, situations and possibilities. In short, of fun. PGA Tour 2K25 is the third title developed by HB Studios in five years, and the improvements are clear to see. The new swing mechanics offer a stimulating challenge for veterans and make the game accessible and fun for newcomers. The graphics have been improved, providing a much more realistic and exciting atmosphere on the greens. From a content standpoint, there is little to complain about, apart from the golfer roster which remains rather limited. The additions to the MyPlayer and MyCareer modes are welcome, but the interference of microtransactions proves annoying. Football Manager 2023 is the natural evolution of last year's edition, and brings with it some innovations aimed at making the gaming experience more comfortable and immediate. The section called the Squad Plan is that tool you don't realize you need until you have it available and when you become familiar with it it is hard to do without it. UEFA licenses add atmosphere to cup matches and market dynamics are increasingly realistic, although still perfectible. Once again, the smallest progress concerns the technical sector, which instead was - and unfortunately remains - the area with the widest room for improvement, but overall this does not undermine an overall judgment, because Football Manager is above all tactics and transfer market and from these points of view continues to be the number one managerial for all fans of the sport to which it is dedicated.

MLB The Show 24 proves to be a solid simulation: not only has San Diego Studio solved some flaws but has perfected the gameplay even further. After a couple of slightly subdued years, the series seems to have stabilized at a high level: for those who want to get closer to the world of baseball there is nothing better around. To seduce veterans of the series, SDS has embellished the fabulous Storylines with a couple of truly spot-on additions (Toni Stone and Derek Jeter), giving more or less substantial tweaks to all the other modes. The technical sector has progressed even if the polygonal models and player animations in some situations reveal the limits of cross-gen production. After the disappointing Atelier Marie Remake and the questionable decision by the development team to make the 25th episode of the main series a gacha game for mobile devices, the future of the Atelier series seems uncertain. With Atelier Yumia in particular, Gust Corporation has perhaps taken more risks than it should have, and we believe that not all bets have been won. The new action-style combat system lacks the strategic component and depth that had made us appreciate the Secret Trilogy so much, and even the process of alchemical synthesis seems cumbersome and unsatisfying. The product recovers a few points thanks to the exploration, now richer and more multifaceted than ever, and an engaging narrative plot, as well as characterized by mature themes. Paradoxically, Atelier Yumia could really captivate those who have never frequented the series, while there is the risk that historical fans will struggle to accept the change of direction desired by the Japanese studio and above all the abandonment of the carefree atmosphere that has always differentiated the brand from other JRPGs. Hoping that Atelier Yumia remains an isolated experiment, we await the completely offline episode of Atelier Resleriana also due out in 2025, which at least on the artistic front seems much more promising.
