Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is a masterpiece that has achieved the impossible: improving on its predecessor in every aspect while maintaining its essence. I’m sure of it: beyond its imperfections and the unfinished business Game Freak has yet to resolve, Pokémon Legends: Z-A marks the first step in a smart direction—one that aligns with what many fans have been asking for over the years and shows particular respect for the legacy it inherits from the most successful franchise in history. I’m convinced we’re looking at one of those special games, one of those one-in-a-million experiments that end up working out. This time, Game Freak, you have my full attention.

Dragon's Dogma 2 follows pretty closely many aspects from previous entries in the franchise, both the good and the bad. Gameplay-wise, Dragon's Dogma 2 definitely includes elements that feel a little bit outdated, and that could've been tweaked one way or another in order to further improve the overall experience. Still, this is an excellent RPG, and every fan of the genre is certainly in for quite a treat.

Death Stranding 2 is a fully immersive game reinforced by its spectacular landscapes and fascinating soundtrack, and every element just feels like it forms a cohesive whole. Forza Horizon 6 is the best entry in the series. Playground Games delivers a stunning open-world Japan, packed with density, verticality and personality, while the return of the wristband progression system gives the campaign real weight. Event variety hits new heights with mecha races, food delivery challenges and the best rallies the franchise has ever seen, all backed by the most ambitious soundtrack in Horizon history. After more than 30 hours of gameplay, I can safely say that Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii is exactly the kind of madness we needed. It's a game that embraces the absurdity of its premise and turns it into its greatest strength. The story kept me engaged, the characters are memorable, and every aspect of the game is bursting with personality.

Persona 4 Golden is like that bedside book that you are so fond of, a world that you want to return to again and again to meet characters you even dream of. If you forgive the passage of time, we are facing a title that even surpasses the fifth installment, bridging the gap.

Atelier Sophie: The Alchemist of the Mysterious Book is a breath of fresh air in the genre of JRPG. This game features a mundane story but in a fantasy world where the dreams of the characters are more important than the plot.

As a game in itself, it is a timeless gem that has not aged at all thanks to the freshness provided by the playability of this saga, its originality and its impeccable level design. And as a remaster, although it doesn't look as good as Luigi's Mansion 3, the visual changes and improvements fit it like a glove and doesn't clash at all among the Nintendo Switch game catalog.

Sloclap has delivered one of the best indie games of this 2017. Although it lacks a deep and more interesnting story, it has unique combat and gameplay mechanics that are rewarded with a great progression. An amazing journey and a stunning game.

Is a game always better if it has more content than its previous entry? In this specific case, I have to say no. Horizon Forbidden West still is a great game, there is no doubt whatsoever about that, but it did not manage to go to the next level. If you enjoyed the first entry of the series you are probably going to enjoy this one all the same, maybe even more. However, I feel a lack of ambition, mainly because I wholeheartedly believe that both Aloy and Guerrilla are capable of something 'bigger'.

The portable version lacks some things included in the FES version that are clearly noticeable, but the gameplay is still good, the OST is simply majestic and the characters are just so charming that make up for any bad thing about the game. This is definitely one of the best stories ever told in a JRPG.

Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney – Spirit of Justice expands further the Ace Attorney world, with new mechanics, a better investigation system and a lot of old acquaintances that most of the fans missed in the last games.

And the thing is that Xenoblade Chronicles X: Definitive Edition stands out for practically the same reasons as its sister installments: fun gameplay, a good story, charismatic characters (although in this work they are not as much as in other titles in the saga) and, above all, a world that is overwhelming to see and explore due to how vast it is. Huge, yes. And also very dangerous, as I mentioned in the analysis. But it is a joy to get lost and discover scenarios, each one more impressive than the last, with scenarios that are the envy of many current open worlds.

No, Silent Hill f is not the best game in the franchise, but it is an outstanding installment that looks back on older titles and lays the groundwork for Konami to continue the saga with quality standards it had forgotten since the PlayStation 2 generation.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is an absolutely key and necessary piece to be able to fully absorb the essence of the Final Fantasy VII remake. Although this game does not have the same depth as the official remake of the first part in terms of changes made, Square Enix has done a phenomenal job to make the figure of Zack Fair enjoy and adapt like a charm in the middle of 2022.

Morbid Metal aims to be one of those games that stands out more for how it plays than for what it tells. Its real-time character-swapping system is what truly sets it apart, and if it manages to maintain variety and depth over the long term, it could become one of the most interesting roguelikes of its generation. A good Pokémon 'copy' that manages to pull off its own personality through the battle system but that, at the same time, carries an obvious problem: it really tries to be an MMORPG, yet in the end it stays as an open world with 'ghost' characters. Even so, overall it is a remarkable turn-based RPG that has a lot of potential. [Early Access Score = 75]
