    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The only fun aspect of D4 was to level Up to 100. The END game is so terrible boring and unrewarding. Everything with this game is made Up of bad RNG mechanics. You dont get any satisfaction by grinding higher tiers in NM Dungeons, you just get random bullcraps. Dont even get me started with the helltide events. You get random stuffs that you need to look out for. So you sit there going through tons of THOUSANDS bullcrap variables , sure you get some obols you can buy RANDOM things. And worst part is that you cant even create specific dungeon Keys for your favourite Dungeons, it ALSO has to be random garbage. There isnt anything in this game that isnt lottery based , except that you can pick which lottery you wanna spend your time with. And Blizzard is purely doing what they are known for, nerfing Classes to obliteration and dosnt bat THE eyes when they see other Classes MELTING uber Lilith under 90 stupid seconds. 1: How about rewarding 1 item that your character actually could use after you finish a high end dungeon so that you actually feel rewarded. 2 : Make players to be able to PICK the exact enchants they want, and lets US atleast enchant 2 attributes. Not just 1. 3 : Let the players Craft the exact NM dungeon key they want to farm. Keep the affixes random .

    4 : Helltides chest/mob buff didnt work so Up it again. 5 : Nerf all classes to barbarians level so that they All Must fight a 7 minute fight. And they have to use 1 META BUILD and there is no way around that.    … Expand

    We will not be developing an endgame, we will just nerf the classes and reduce the experience gained. And we will also sell the battle pass without confirmation.
    Oh yes, we will also change the balance in each patch.
    It's not an AAA game, it's a beta test for 70 bucks.

    Devs have made a solid effort to listen to the community & try to fix the things that make this game imperfect. It’s a pretty solid experience IMO, but it’s also my first time playing a Diablo game. The game can get a bit 1-dimensional at times however…

    The worst game I've played on PS5 with
    constant lag and crashed! I couldn't understand the point of making Diablo 4 with the need of server connection. This is not a MMORPG. I can only see the fact that Blizzard wants to earn as much as they could with season content.

    Feels that the game been rushed, small mobile like instances with repetitive objectives. Same mobs with same mechanics, gameplay, graphics and story is awesome.

    Feels Like a pretty lacking game... defienetly doesnt feel like a 70€ experience. End game is a very boring grind. Not much intresting to do. Gear is very rng. Just go play path of exile:)

    Great campaign, great story, great combat, great open world, great visuals, great classes. Yes the game needs some QoL improvements and more endgame content, but it's an insanely solid base.

    Don't believe all the butthurt jabronis giving it a 0. They are just trolling and whining because of 1 bad patch.

    I feel so sad I bought a Ultimate Edition. Diablo 4 is not worthy to play. I give 1 score for main story. My Sor is so weak and diablo4 team nerf my level 80 sor again , that's .... Anyway, don't buy Diablo4, just wait for another 1 or 2 years. Then if you still interested, you can come back and check. Diablo4 is a mess right now. Don't buy diablo 4.

    I quit playing D4 today after reaching lvl 27 as a druid playing solo. It was fun playing for the first week when I started, but now after the latest patch I just lost any interest in the game. It needs an offline mode and Buzzard should stop changing the game all the time. I'll stick with D3 for the moment and maybe come back in a few months, when D4 hopefully became playable.     Game was fun for about 20 hours then its boring, Level scaling needs to be removed. Big open world feels so empty and everything feels padded and over bloated. I really wanted D4 to be great and it is not that good... I guess Blizzard making a game to please everyone, made a great game at pleasing nobody. Casual Players (like Myself will leave as its boring after a while, and hardcore ARPGGame was fun for about 20 hours then its boring, Level scaling needs to be removed. I played the game in World Tier 2 and it was easy, like boring easy… put my brain in autopilot and before you know it I’m at the end, and wishing I spent my time on another game. Really sad Blizzard used to make amazing games that were fun and have focused on making an endless chore game where you hopefully pay more money on top of a $70 game… Was fun for about 20 hours then it’s over… So if you want a 20 hour game I guess it’s ok, but if you expected a 200+ hour game it is not… Maybe like D3 it will get fixed. But I think it’s a case of a lot of potential, and just not there yet, maybe it will turn into something good, but its boring now.… Expand

    Good things about the game:
    - In-game Music
    - Graphics/Visuals bring a new generation, but others are catching up
    - Number of buttons reduction (i.e. less potions etc.)
    and that is it.

    Bad Things is pretty much everything else. Starting with the most important the dev team is clearly corporate job people who blindly follow policies and metrics with zero novel ideas about the game. That is why they were able to destroy whatever was somewhat OK in the game before Season 1 with the crazy patch coming out. For example D4 is supposed and can work as a fairly casual game with console support where people can enjoy for a few hours a day ... and you go and nerf XP to the ground so that it takes forever to level?! Makes no logical sense. Now they backtracking with monster density improvements and etc., which will probably bring a whole other set of issues on the technical front.

    In any case looking at the core loop gameplay before the patch there was a bit more variety with the Helltide and we all had to do the Campaign, renown etc. Now it is literally Just Nightmare dungeons (same 6-8 ones as the others are horrible) on repeat. Why kill Helltide with the patch again -> makes no sense as game lacks content anyhow?

    Still, even if the game boils down to just repeating the same NM dungeons over and over a hardcore ARPG player like me can handle that. However, something destroys the fun out of this completely --- itemization and loot. Remember this game has super limited stash space where you actually have a very hard time playing with more than 2 different characters (as most stash is shared). But that aside there is an extraordinary amount of useless loot dropping that you have to vendor. However, since there is no loot filter one actually has to read through all of it and check the affixes to make sure it is in fact trash. So after EVERY dungeon, you spend about the same amount or half of it (if you are fast) reading and vendoring. And you have to be selective as remember ... the stash space. This just destroys all flow and fun of the game to the point where stuff drops and I'm not wondering if its something cool, but weather or not it is worth picking it up and reading with the super high chance it will be trash to vendor. Personally that is the main reason I also quit the game and rate it as 0/10 given that 30-50% of my gametime is devoted not to slaying monsters and playing the game, but inventory, stash and item management. Furthermore, what the devs did making ALL other content irrelevant with that patch including outside world and world bosses and helltides just shows me that they have zero idea about the direction and improvement of the game so I'm really not at all positive for the future.

    Lastly a score is also related to what the competition is offering and PoE plus Last Epoch and others are just delivering. With PoE 2 comming maybe next year and developments such as when you disconnect you come back in the same world state before, compared to Blizz devs not capable to provide a loot filter just gives me no confidence in the future of this game. Of course this is a personal opinion, but fun is really NOT the name of the game for Diablo 4 currently and in the foreseeable future.    … Expand

I need to invest more time and effort to rebuild my character, but there is hardly any new content in the game, let alone the recurring issues.     A very disappointing game which was released long before it was ready.
    I enjoyed the pre season playing the campaign, then diligently levelled my character to 100 getting quite bored in the process doing the same content over and over again.

This is why blizzard tried to slow everyone's progress, because there is nothing fun to do after it is finished.
    Endgame is pretty much empty. You run the same helltides, the same nightmare dungeons and the same whispers over and over again.
    I'll pick it up again in season 3 or 4 to see if they've actually made some endgame content yet, but if you've not bought it yet, don't bother, it's a waste of money and time.    … Expand

    I love this game. It's been such a long time coming, and the first 35 or so levels are an absolute joy to progress through. However, after that, it becomes dull, stretched out and repetitive. The game focuses on tedium as opposed to content to entice players to continue and purchase cosmetics. Once I complete the story, I likely will not return for another few seasons.

It's Activision Blizzard - so, I wasn't let down when I had to finally uninstall this abortion. You will be baited by weekly patch/buff/nerfs/fireside chats forever to keep your game play hours up for Blizzard to take that metric to shareholders all the while never fixing the game.Played since the launch and gave them through the first week of Malignant Hearts to get there act together.     The developer are out of touch. I don't know why they think it's fun to make the grinds longer, while nerfing everything else. This is a fail on so many levels. How this got past QA without push back, or how management allowed this to happen, is very questionable. Thanks for making this game hell for me, you should have respected my time more and implemented fixes a lot sooner.

    The game has its flaws, the biggest beeing the nonexistent endgame. Around lvl 70 you have seen it all and done so much of it you get burned out. (Or at least i did) There are no meaningful upgrades to your character anymore so its just an awfully long grind to max lvl with the occasional 0.1% damage upgrade... Yes, you could hunt for super uniques that have    Not great not terrible either.

With some of these AAA companies, beta testing is the new alpha, and release is the new beta. With d3, the end game was non existent. The full diablo experience was beating the game 4 times exactly as it was. Across each class it evened out to beating the game 20 times, and then youre done. What an absolute trashcan of a model. I cant believe that they released that. Now a decade later, the same issue prevails in a new skin. Do nightmare dungeons endlessly, and thats the end game.

    They had many, many years of working with their player base over D3. Those lessons should have transferred over to the release of D4. It did not. Instead Activi-zzard has chosen to release a game that feels like its in early access. Their fan boys will jump for joy as each path is released containing small scraps to enhance their experience. All the meanwhile it is a ruse to keep players, and to seem like they're doing anything. Im calling it now at the end of july in 2023. The patches they release over the next year are gonna be things that should have been on launch, and the amount of work they will do over the year could realistically be done next month. Instead, they choose to use words that make it seem like every little change is so hard, and that they're THINKING about doing certain things. Its all a total joke. They want to string people along as much as they can. The game is addicting, but most people equate that to fun. Its not fun to run around in this game. The side quests, are not fun. Doing the storyline, walking 80% of it before they give you a mount, is not fun. Doing nothing but nightmare dungeons for marginally less gear, is not fun. Doing a stat squish and a cross the board nerf in your second patch, is not fun. The game is addictive because big money paid for it to have qualities that would create that. If you stop for a moment and ask yourself how much fun the general experience is at the end of the day, I think most people will realize youre just playing watered down WoW in arpg form, with little content to its name. They just make it take forever (remember, d3 was beating the game 20 mf times across all the classes) to give the mind some sense of reward.

    This company is a horror antagonist with slashed off face covering theirs, and that plastered on face is blizzard north. Theyre gone, this company is nothing at all like them, and this new one has passed a new level of insufferable that passes even EA at this point.

    Its tragic all the names I grew up with are as horrific as they are. if blizzard gave even the tinyest crap about their player base, theyd pump out the quality of life at about 20x the speed they currently are. They are fully capable of doing so, they just dont want to cause of paying employees, or to draw out their profits for share holders. This game is not for the player, its for the company.

    I regret each of my 150 hours I put into this game before I realized what was happening. It was a massive waste of time and thanks to this game, I will never, ever, give another cent to blizzard. I drew that line with EA and Ubisoft, and now someone I once loved so dearly who carry's their name is also across that line on the "Do not buy" category.

    Its barely even a game company so much anymore as it is a money grubbing time waster. It should be moved to the classification of simulation games because all it does is simulate pure misery.    … Expand

    Listen...this game is simply not fun. The level scaling ruins any enjoyment going to different areas of the game, as all enemies are the same difficulty everywhere.

    The loot is an absolute bore finding gear doesnt feel good.

Most of the affixes do not present a way that is game changing during lvling process and the resource mgt is not fun until u come up with something like the mother embrace ring.

    There seems to be no testing for class mechanics before release and it persists post-release judging from the gaps between necro, druid and sorc.

    I did not really like the potion system in D3, D4 is worse because the low cap at start is worse than potion cooldown.

    The horse cooldown and shuttering start at release is annoying as hell.

    The only thing done right maybe the starting trailer which has good bgm, the story line is soso.

    The fact that the game designer(s) in chief celebrated this game success is kinda sick joke, completely outta touch.    … Expand

Equipment is hard to farm, the pace of nightmare dungeons is sluggish, changing builds is difficult, and the backpack and warehouse are pitifully small. I have no idea what fun is left in this game.

    Not gonna go into the details of the latest nerf/patch, it's beating a dead horse at this point...but I will say that my online friends who I tried to convince to get the game...I now have told them to, "stay away...I quit and the game is broken..."

    Had so much hope for this game but the developers have managed to rob me of pretty much all of it. One poor update was one thing, but the lack of communication or care during maintenance and updates is incredible for a company with such vast resources. Throw someone's kid on twitter and have him text the dev team every now and then to let us know how things are going.     it's awful, unfinished and they keep nerfing your favourite build. the monster density is BAD. dungeons all look the same throughout the entire game. there's only 2 real bosses. comon guys... get it together.

    It is totally unworthy of being a 3A masterpiece! System stability: bad. Game content: boring. The only thing worthy of praise is the art, but that doesn't change the fact that the game and the company are rubbish! Regret spending money to support this rubbish game, rubbish company

    Its actually embarrassing that a massive studio like Blizzard developed this game so poorly. The game looks nice and is fun to play in the beginning but eventually you realize the features are bare bone and there is zero re-playability.

    D4 is great, if it was made 10-12 years ago. The game mechanics are hot garbage is more mundane than even D3. This game has ZERO unique content to it and gives the most boring replay value. Between level 1-50 you experienced all the variations of the game. All you do at that point is suffer through repetition. And before you say "thats an ARPG" I've been playing them for decades now and D4D4 is great, if it was made 10-12 years ago. The game mechanics are hot garbage is more mundane than even D3. All you do at that point is suffer through repetition. And before you say "thats an ARPG" I've been playing them for decades now and D4 found a way to make the grind actually feel like a grind, no redeeming factors.

    I hit level 52 and found the following 20 levels to feel the EXACT SAME as level 50-52. Blizzard seems to have not come up with any unique content that makes you want to level. I started season 1 and within the first 2 hours I was already bored. I have no clue what they are doing over there but this game is vanilla AF.

    Its official FOR ME, Blizzard no longer knows how to make games. An OG fan of their games since I was 10, in 1995. Warcraft2, Warcraft 3, Diablo, Diablo 2,D2 resurrected, Starcraft, broodwars, Starcraft 2, and WoW vanilla-BC player.

    As far as Im concerned, Blizzard launcher is something I will never install again and they are quickly sliding below the likes of Ubisoft and EA.    … Expand

    I don't understand how bad a team they have to be to keep introducing bugs after bugs it's crazy that tiny indy companies can do a much better job, Don't waste your time and money - they should all be fired.

    True gamers will tell you how it is but the fanboys will stick up for this worthless company no matter the trash they dish out.

    There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
