    Diablo 4 is fun for about 50 hours, but past that there is nothing left to do except for endlessly grinding nightmare dungeons for minor gear upgrades or rerolling as a different class. There is only 1 end-game boss fight (Uber Lilith), which isn't even fun due to nearly unavoidable instant death mechanics. By the time you hit level 70, you are already starting to wonder why you're still playing the game on that character. Somewhere between level 80-90, you realize the game isn't fun anymore due to lack of content but you still want to hit the level cap. The second your character hits level 100, you immediately feel like you want to quit the game because there is nothing left to do. Blizzard didn't even bother to include a seasonal leaderboard, which is considered by the community to be a basic required component of any ARPG. Additionally, virtually every expected "quality of life" element within the user interface is missing, while existing within Diablo 3 and other ARPGs. The worst part is that Blizzard lied through their teeth to loyal customers about the amount of end-game content. We saw many videos of Blizzard developers talking about the extensive amount of end-game content. Supposedly there would always be something more to do, but we weren't given specifics. This turned out to be a blatant lie, and Blizzard has lost the trust of a massive number of their remaining fans because of the lies they told us. I think realistically Diablo 4 is still in beta, but some jerks in leadership positions pushed to release the game about a year before it was ready. Any positive review about Diablo 4 you read is written by someone who hasn't played the game for more than 50 hours.… Expand

    The game looks great and combat feel great but it suffers from a lot of drawbacks. Two main things. The loot system is boring and the end game is non existent. You never feel like you're working towards anything. The loot has a million affixes and you never really know if you have something good or not, everything scales with you so you never feel like you got something amazing.The game looks great and combat feel great but it suffers from a lot of drawbacks. However when you start getting to the endgame, roughly level 60ish you quickly realize you have 6 spell slots and 3 to 5 of them are Defense as a must.I made an account just to review this game. There are 15ish Aspects to put on your gear and 10 of which have to be Defense, and Paragon boards were 75% of what you pick is Defense. I thought i bought a hack and slash game. The story is really good and cut scenes, The only thing I could think was that the top 2% who play 10 hours a day rammed though the game and found exploits along the way, and Blizzard crushed everything to slow them down. Sad thing is those 2% don't pay there bills.… Expand

    Played around 100+ hours. have 80lvl necro and 50 lvl barb...
    Lags and disconnects is all you've got. I cannot recommend this game right now. Maybe after few seasons and the return all "good" mechanics from D3 as features for D4...
    Blizzards is not the same anymore. Thanks Activision for that

    This game is a total disappointment. It's the only game that has ever caused a blue screen for my PC and it did that multiple times. When its not completely freezing your computer its stuttering and lagging every time you move to a new area or encounter new players. There is no re-playability, no randomly created dungeons, somehow there are unlimited builds but only a few "meta" ones,This game is a total disappointment.     The season pass has terrible looking items and nothing of value on it (naturally if you shell out $20 you can get some better looking gear from their in-game purchase store). It also doesn't even give enough coins to purchase the next season pass so if you spent money on it that was a solid waste. The customization of characters feels like options you'd get in a title from the mid 2000's.

    The devs clearly don't care, they made great cinematic scenes for a short story and then used those to sell us an indie caliber mini-game. Activision has officially killed Blizzard, its only a soulless corporate entity that will crank out games on schedule to bring in revenue with little care to the functionality of the game or their (now dwindling) customer base. Perhaps if they spent a little less time sexually harassing their employees and put a little more time in developing their games Diablo 4 would have been great.    … Expand

    A frame of a game. Most annoying thing is they left out all the QoL improvements they put in earlier iterations just to bring them back at some point under the label: "new content". The whole game is desingned to keep you in the game as long as possible. It doesn´t take you long to see behind the curtin.     Game was covered by an awesome story and animations but once you dig deep itemization sucks which was supposed to be the heart of any arpg game such as Diablo. It’s true that the old Blizzard is dead. Pre-season was decent 6/10 but from there just down the drain. Will not pre order Blizzard games on the foreseeable future.

    Graphics and sound are amazing in this game. They both fit the theme of dark and gloomy and is a massive upgrade from Diablo 3. I do like the idea of battling together in events such as world bosses and legion events but that are all the positives for me. What is lacking

    - Build variety; there is no point of grinding and trying as there are just a few meta builds that work - Open world    Graphics and sound are amazing in this game. They both fit the theme of dark and gloomy and is a massive upgrade from Diablo 3. I do like the idea of battling together in events such as world bosses and legion events but that are all the positives for me. What is lacking

    - Build variety; there is no point of grinding and trying as there are just a few meta builds that work
    - Open world map is a horrid implementation of a multiuser dungeon (it's not open, there are paths that are very clunky to navigate
    - Grinding feels tedious going through the same content over and over and over and over again and there is no reward for doing so
    - Dungeons are the same, in D2 they at least were procedurally generated that made every run feel different
    - Apart from running NM dungeons and one final boss to tackle there is no end-game content
    - Inventory management; is a joke, no space, stuff cluttering that shouldnt be there etc.
    - UX design, this is by far the worst part of the game. button placement feels odd and when at a vendor the mapping changes

    Blizzard nerfed the game recently, ofcourse starting over with a new character for season 1 does even the board again but 2 classes have been completely destroyed in the process. Blizzard doesn't listen to the community as there are no quality of life issues that got addressed but if it's about nerfing than it happens over night. After a patch the first thing they welcome you back with is that new items have been added to the real money store. I paid 100 euro's for this slot-machine disguised as a game    … Expand

Too much walking time without mobs, backtracking caused by crappy dungeon design and silly dungeon tasks. It just makes zero fun to play, if 50% of my time is running through empty dungeons.     The game likes olimpic game. They most the time running on the dungeons. The damage calculator is another big problem, is complete unbalanced and some things like pvp rank, dungeons ranks. The season well, anyone like complete shorts dungeons?

    I purchased the Ultimate Edition expecting to be playing this a lot this year, unfortunately by end game I was bored of it. I had hopes for Season 1 but Blizzard managed to make the game even worse and sucked what little fun there was in it completely out, yeah didn't think that was possible but they proved me wrong with terrible game design and choices.     I really did like this games art direction/story/ and gameplay. Its unfortunate they really killed the endgame with the patches nerfing the enjoyment of the game and the pathetic first season. Maybe I'll come back when they fix it.

    Игру делали не для удовольствия игроков а в качестве второй работы, притом за которую ещё и заплатить нужно.
    Если хотите делать игры на 100% ради денег - уберите название "Диабло" и приставьте к названию ММО. И ещё, сделайте её Free-to-Play если хотите сохранить название но всё так же халтурно делать ради денег и не    К сожалению - игру превратили в ММО проект по вытягиванию денег.

    Version 1.0 was more o less crap but patch 1.1 completely ruined the game, now is 5h1t and totally NOT entertaining. I will never buy Blizzard games again. My 0 goes to the company choices, to their objectives to steal our money and to the developers, trying to sell us this thing for gold.
    A lesson for Blizzard: 5h1t remains 5h1t also when covered with gold words.

    Blizzard tricked everyone into buying their unfinished product based on a level 25 capped open beta test, everyone who bought the game paid to be a beta tester for Diablo IV thinking they were buying a finished AAA title that had come out of beta into release. It isn't until you've played past the campaign that you realize there's virtually no end game. The level cap is 100 but there's zero reason to level past 60 or so because immediately after entering world tier 4 difficulty all the best gear drops for you and you won't see anything remotely resembling an upgrade for another 20-40 levels. The classes are wildly imbalanced and get worse with every patch and hotfix, Blizzard is clearly out of touch with what makes a game fun. They are no longer in the entertainment business, they're in the shareholder business. This is the last Blizzard title I pre-purchase, I've learned my lesson and will wait and see with any new game they put out because Diablo IV was a classic bait-and-switch. They got our money up front and there's no recourse for refund. Lesson learned.… Expand

    This has been the worst game I've ever played. Constant lags, disconnects (record was 3 disconnects in 5 minutes).

    I've asked for a refund for Diablo IV and hope other people enjoy playin' it. For me, it legit was the worst game I've ever played.

    I love the Diablo franchise, but D4 is a tough pill to swallow.
    Dealbrakers for me is, but not limited to:
    - No map randomizing, this alone ruins the Diablo experience for me - Horrible itemization - So much walking - I honestly cant tell the difference between bosses - Skill trees are so uninspired and boring i just wanna cry And for this "#%"%" game they still try to milk me    I love the Diablo franchise, but D4 is a tough pill to swallow.

    To my surprise the story was engaging and I wanted to see it unfold, it's not groundbreaking but alright for Diablo. I played all the classes to level 35-45 and necromancer to 60+. Creating your build is nice as I said but is highly dependant on legendary items.     I played all the classes to level 35-45 and necromancer to 60+. Creating your build is nice as I said but is highly dependant on legendary items. Furthermore, most of the time, the game pushes to follow an achertype for your build.
    For instance necromancer have blood, minions and bones spells. The game will push you to take all the minions skills to optimize your gameplay. So the build variety is quite low, and enabled by legendary items.

    Add to that, no loadouts, expensive respecialization, it's tedious to try new builds, you need to find legendary items, manually respecs all your points, and you cannot test your builds and evaluate it with metrics. You have no dummies to try your build on. So if your new builds feel less good, you need to pay again to respecs, and put all your points, gear back as it was before with no way to save it. The game highly discourage build exploration.

    Nevertheless the game is entertaining enought and killing demon mindlessly is relaxing. Hopefully the futures updates and seasons will improve the game to make it more fun, not tedious    … Expand

    The game play could be fun but resistances don't work and the game play has been simplified to this "is your unstoppable button off cooldown? Then live. If your unstoppable button is on cooldown, die." That's it, the only times you die is when your unstoppable is on cooldown. Very stupid.

    No end game.
    The design of the inventory is absolutely foolish - you collect gear in this game to try new builds but they severely limit your inventory space. They have since went on to complain that adding more inventory space is tough - I will remind us all that Path of Exile exists... with practically unlimited inventory space and that's a free to play game. How is it that blizzard is a multibillion dollar company but can't figure "more inventory" space out? It's because it costs real money to have more server for the storage and they cut corners to save money so f the gamers. Lazy.

    Next is the search function, do you know what it's like looking though 200 pieces of gear to find 1 aspect? Why isn't there a search function for this? It feels like I spend 30% of the time reading to find items I need.

    Most of the drops are utter trash but there is no way to tell so you are forced to read through all of for a possible slight upgrade.

    There are over 50 type of damage modifiers... close damage, far damage, cold damage, frozen damage... this ish goes on and on and on. It's almost impossible to find a piece of gear with exactly the stats YOU NEED! It's frustrating.

    Why would blizzard do this? Because they want to keep you "engaged" and playing. They are wasting your time, treating you like a fool merely to keep you playing because you might spend more money...

    There's so much to complain about but I will just stop. I paid almost 130 dollars for this game and I can say it's worth 30 dollars. Unfinished, unpolished, boring, tedious and ultimately not fun. I won't buy a blizzard product again.    … Expand

With the world leveling with me I lost all sense of progress and once my level got high enough developers nerfed my class just to remove the last few bits of fun I had with it. Diablo quickly became more of the chore than fun and II was hoping for a decent fun for many many hours, kind of like I had with Torchlight 2 or Grim Dawn.     Diablo was always a great game until Activision bought Blizzard and I got greedy. You buy a game for 80 euros and then the developers ask you for money for battlepass and skins. I might even overlook it if the game wasn't so extremely buggy and unfinished. Graphically it's beautiful but technically it's a horror. Blizzard should take a cue from Larian Studios.

The advertisement was so blown out of proportion, that of course, we all fell for it, giving our well earned money over to a company that doesn’t give a single **** about its customer.

    The latest “Devs play the game” video just shows how out of touch this company is, or maybe so in touch that they did it on purpose to give faces and identity for players to blame.

    The only reason I am not giving it a one was because the art and cutscene team did an absolutely amazing job in capturing what the game should be, if only the other departments at Blizzard put even 10% of the effort in as the art team did, they would have a functional game.

Here is what’s wrong, so take note Blizzard employees:

    1. Microtransactions in a full-price game. Your ludicrously priced armors should be earned from bosses etc, when all the cool stuff is in the shop the incentive to play is reduced.

    2. You think by making the game slower and “grindy” players will stay for longer when in fact it has the opposite effect; it just becomes a chore to play.

    3. Your mission structure is incredibly repetitive, it feels like I’m just searching for prisoners all the time.

    4. Your open world is boring. It has no secrets to uncover so exploration has no feeling of exploring, if that makes sense.

    So overall: stop trying to minimize effort and maximize profit, focus on making a great game. There is passion here, but it’s overshadowed by greedy corporate practices.    … Expand

    Review gets a 1 because I have seen worse. This recent patch however gutted ever class, but the weakest class in the game took the biggest hit. I log in only to find my Sorc doing 80% less damage than before the patch. This isn't playable, and judging at how long it takes them to fix something (if they even fix it), I'll be long done with D4 before that day comes.

    I've been excited for this game forever, after playing 100+ hours I am very disappointed. "Play your own way" is play the meta or play the worse build. Even without a build guide, I was planning on an earth druid but after finding the pulverize legendaries and trying them I had to change my build because it was just better, no contest.     The game feels like it is trying to slow you down. Grinding levels is very slow, and the only content is helltide and nightmare dungeons. This feels very much like rifts and grinding the open world from D3. I'm wondering if content was removed so that they could use it in season events.
    I've run into crashes and bugs, the amount of stash space is basically only enough for a single class, the horse hardly works. This does not feel like a finished game. I wish they would have extended the beta and allowed us to play longer and up to the max level. The passionate players would have pointed out the many flaws this game had, and they would have been easier to address.
    Overall, the art is amazing. I love the character designs and cosmetics. While the game is working, it feels smooth. The early game is the most challenging part of the game, after it is not challenging and so grindy and repetitive. There is not enough to do, and the most of the skills are not worth building around. This game feels like it was built around the shop. Blizzard is prioritizing micro-transactions, and this unfinished game was just an afterthought.    … Expand

The devs look at players who are professional or are somehow monetizing their game to react to their setup. Meanwhile 99% of others are repeating the same content over and over.... and over and over. The first season is underway and already feels so lethargic. I invested in D2R and it is still loads better than D4. Don't waste you money on the glitzy graphics if the game itself is not fun and is boring. It's not the same thing as doing Baal or Mepisto runs. Those were fun for what you got in the game. Blizzard needs the "twitter treatment" as in someone acquire Blizzard and fire 60% of the engineers! For some reason Blizzard coded this game in a way in which you load everyone's inventory and all stash tabs. Even after Diablo Immortal, we all had hoped that Diablo IV would stay true to the pc gamer community and expectations but sadly it isn't so. A game that was barely fun at launch was bafflingly nerfed in every possible way to reduce progression even further and make gameplay gears turn as close to a haltIt turns out that Diablo has ultimately been turned into a microtransaction simulator. And the grind is not even fun! Abilities are dull af, battles are dull af, bosses are dull af, gear effects are dull af, gem effects are dull af, the proc system is dull af... its a nightmare of a game. The only reason why I've played it for so long is because I felt the need to get my moneys worth out of this PoS but the state of the game has bored me so much that any other game is more entertaining, and so I am gone and leave you with with warning.

    Activision Blizzard is a dead chinese predatory money grinding horse and everyone in the gaming industry that has ruined AAA companies such as Blizzard should be put in jail for predatory business malpractice.

    Promises alone will not get you far Blizzard, your last stream where developers don't know the game and say that the boss is big and fun is JOKE!!!
    Pleas make expansions on Diablo 2 R and try not to spoil it, because you don't know how to make new diablo games don't try.....

    Worst ARPG I have ever played. Terrible itemization, UI looks like Diablo immortal, endgame is filled with a million chores, too many MMO elements. Talent system is overrated. Can't really customize alot. Previous games you could mix and match different weapons + skills. Here you are just locked into misery. It's insane to think they game has 7 year of development, and flaws from previousWorst ARPG I have ever played.     Diablo4 is a good game in general. good graphic, story and animations.
    endgame content is a bit poor but a good dev team will make it better in a few months.
    BUT, the way they run the game is disgusting. blizzard has been doing some many dodgy things behind player's back, sneakingly nerf a lots of things that players enjoy doing.     There's a fair bit to like about Diablo IV — best-in-class sound design, intriguing character classes, fantastic graphics and occasionally addictive gameplay all feel like the series in its prime. However, even the best parts are let down by an undercurrent of frustrating design choices: the cynical inclusion of a Battle Pass, a bloated open world, repetitive mission structure and progression that too often feels meaningless cast a long shadow that let the latest Diablo title down. Future Seasons may refine what's here, but many of its issues sadly feel baked into the core experience. All but the most die-hard fans may wish to wait for a substantial sale on this one.

    The visuals are probably what excited me the most. The way the game looks and the atmosphere makes me feel like I'm playing the old Diablo again. On steroids and on a quadruple screen TV, but the feeling is still there. [Issue#328]
