The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is everything that a sequel to Breath of the Wild should be. While many may have expected it to stick to its predecessor’s formula, Tears of the Kingdom combines creativity and innovation to the series’ strengths, and adds a mixture of new, extraordinary gameplay mechanics, a world expansion that makes the game much larger, an unsettling and gripping new plot, and an improved technical performance. The result is a monument of a game that’s also one of the greatest video games ever made.

Longtime fans who want to relive the original experiences will be less thrilled, given that the work gone in these remakes feels less ambitious than it should, with its lacklustre visual performance and changes to the art style, while new players won't be very pleased at the relative lack of options that could bring the game up to modern standards of turn-based strategy games. Nonetheless, the very fun gameplay mechanics remain firmly in place, and they are as good as ever, which is a very good point in favour of Advance Wars 1+2 Re-Boot Camp.

This point and click adventure with a few (too few) action and puzzle moments features a marvelous writing work, a captivating and disgruntled world, an exquisite visual presentation and top voice acting. Had the production invested a bit more on its action and puzzle components, then Chicken Police would be a fantastic game but nonetheless, it's a fine work that's going to appeal to fans of adventure and mystery games.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition does not do a complete reworking or revolutionise the original classic, but it delivers an amount of improvements and new content that make this new edition a joy to play. The visual upgrade makes everything more pleasant to look, despite the framerate remaining the same, and the quicker loading times help making the experience swifter. The new areas and increased storage capacity, as well as the ability to invite more neighbours and improved control system further contribute to make this the ultimate way to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

One of the most popular games in the Star Wars series lands on the Nintendo Switch and if this conversion of Knights of the Old Republic doesn't bring anything new from a technical and gameplay point of view, the work was masterfully done and it delivers the original game to everyone who wanted to play it on the Nintendo Switch. Those who are less versed in the Star Wars universe and unfamiliar with the original work won't feel the same appeal, as this effort is mostly targeted at long-running fans.

This action RPG is capable enough to give the player an enjoyable and involving experience, notably thanks to its combat, and its remastered looks are also to be praised. At the same time, its actions can feel repetitive too quickly, and the camera often behaves in a frustrating way. Overall, Boundless Trails does not rise above its direct peers, but players looking for a more relaxed action RPG experience should definitely take a look.

Happy Home Paradise is the most ambitious and substantial expansion for Animal Crossing: New Horizons. While it's also the series' first paid expansion, its price is certainly worth it as it nearly adds a whole new game to the original with what feels like a part time job from the game's location. Happy Home Paradise is without any doubt a major contribution towards making New Horizons the most complete and varied game in the Animal Crossing series so far.

Super Mario 3D All-Stars is a commemorative edition and one that's mostly about nostalgia. This means that players looking for a reinvention of the three classics included herewith will not find what they're looking for, as the contents on this release consist of something as close to the originals as possible, with only a few tweaks added. This will satisfy those looking for a strictly nostalgic experience, but it will also highlight how Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine did not age perfectly. Beyond that, it's difficult to understand why there's a one-year time limit on the availability of this release, or why there's so little additional content for an anniversary edition other than the three games' soundtracks. In any case, those looking for a revival experience will be well served.
