Jan 13, 2026Yakuza Kiwami 2 is a solid Switch 2 port of arguably one of the best entries in the storied series. With the best antagonist in the entire Yakuza saga, memorable set pieces and a whole raft of interconnected side missions, superb games within the game, and a couple of stone-cold Saturn classics to play in the arcade, Kiwami 2 cements the series as one of the best times you can have on Nintendo’s newest hardware.

Nov 12, 2025My only quibble would be, perhaps more harshly, that these versions don't offer any new cutscenes or content for the returning player. They are the nexus that will connect the past to the present of the franchise and the future Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties, but if you've played them in the past (even in the near past on Nintendo Switch, in the case of Kiwami 1), I don't see too much urgency in returning to this Kamurocho. For anyone who doesn't mind reliving two classics, you're in for the best possible version of them.

Nov 27, 2025Yakuza Kiwami 2 lands on the Nintendo Switch 2 in yet another exquisite remake that will delight both veterans and newcomers alike. Its game engine allows for a fluid and enveloping experience, while everything that made the original game amazing has been duly preserved and is brought straight to our days. The game's intricate plot, its thriving streets and locations, the engaging and quick paced combat, and all the myriad characters, side quests and secondary plots are all here, in a testament to what a breathtaking experience Yakuza Kiwami 2 still is to this day.

Nov 13, 2025Yakuza Kiwami and Kiwami 2 on Nintendo Switch 2 are like two novels rebound after many years: they don’t tell us anything we don’t already know, but they do it with a dignity and elegance that withstand the passage of time.

Nov 25, 2025Whether it’s beating up yakuza on the streets, managing a cabaret club, or helping Kamurocho and Sotenbori’s citizens out of a bind, Yakuza Kiwami 2 offers so much content that will keep you engaged. On Switch 2, the portability factor simply cannot be understated, now that we’ve gotten to a point where the limitations players faced with the original Switch aren’t as prevalent. If you’re a Nintendo fan wanting to get into the Yakuza series, there’s no better time to do it than now.

Nov 18, 2025Kiwami 2 is a work that blends respect for the original with smart modernization. The graphical upgrades, smoother combat, and addition of new content make the experience more complete and accessible without compromising the soul that made Yakuza 2 so beloved. For those who played the original, the remake is a reunion filled with new details; for newcomers, it’s a great entry point into one of the franchise’s most memorable stories.

Nov 12, 2025Yakuza Kiwami and Yakuza Kiwami 2 arrive on Nintendo Switch 2 with solid ports that honor the origins of Kazuma Kiryu. Kiwami shines with upgraded performance at 60 FPS and welcome quality-of-life improvements, while Kiwami 2 delivers a faithful but less polished experience due to frame pacing issues. Strong stories, engaging combat, and Latin American Spanish localization make these versions a great entry point for Nintendo players; though veterans may only find value in the portability.
