It's just another morning for this young girl. She wakes up and starts getting herself ready while shaking off the sleepiness like always. Except something, somehow, feels off.

When she steps into the living room, she expects to find her dad preparing for work. Instead, she finds a stranger sleeping on the couch. The man wakes up, looks at the girl, and sighs. Ignoring her confusion, he mumbles to himself with a hint of sadness in his voice.

It's really time to get ready.

She doesn't know who this man is or where her father has gone. Walk alongside her on this twisting, twisted path and see where it will lead her.

An absolutely brilliant mix of gameplay and story that is soul-crushing but terrifyingly accurate.

If you can cope with the sadness and appreciate the glimpses of happier times gone by then you’ll find and Roger a completely unforgettable experience.

and Roger is one of those games that’s hard to recommend… but only because it’s impossible to talk about it without breaking part of the experience. It’s short, yes. It’s simple in terms of gameplay, too. But what it does with those tools is truly special. If you’re looking for something different, a narrative experience that makes you feel something and doesn’t overstay its welcome, here you have one of those small gems that appears quietly. It’s especially emotional if what it tells resonates with you or somehow represents or identifies with your own experience.

With the release of and Roger on the Switch 2, the charming and devastating interactive novel can reach even more interested players. Even though the overall experience is a short one, the emotional resonance is deep. We would recommend everyone to go into it with as little of the story spoiled as possible to experience this gem organically. And Roger still is a little gem of a game and should be experienced by everyone at least once.
