South of Midnight thrives on contrasts and fails to offer the same level of quality across all aspects: while the stories being told are the true driving force and the artistic side is excellent, inspired, and capable of giving the work great uniqueness, the gameplay doesn’t keep up and feels reminiscent of action-adventure/platform games from fifteen years ago, lacking any standout moments or particularly memorable features.

Crimson Desert is the kind of game that makes you want to use the word “impressive” every three minutes, and then makes you feel guilty for doing so. Because impressive, technically and quantitatively, it truly is, but the impression it leaves, once the dust of hype has settled, is that of a title that was afraid to choose. Pearl Abyss built a vast world and then filled it with everything, as if emptiness were an enemy to be defeated through sheer volume of content. The result is a game that almost never gets boring, but that only rarely moves you in the deep, lasting way that the titles it borrows from manage to do.

Even if very conservative in its nature, Disgaea 7 is a very solid entry in the franchise, thanks to some new ideas (such as the Kaiju-like transformation and the online asynchronous multiplayer) and hundreds of hours of content. Detective Pikachu: The Return is a definite step forward from the first installment, but it still lacks that quality leap that could make this subseries a must for franchise fans. The main charm of the adventure lies in the charisma of its two protagonists and the opportunity to experience the Pokémon world in a different way compared to what the main series offers. However, the game's extreme simplicity, driven by the choice to make it accessible to a wide audience, may not satisfy all fans of the saga.

Halo Wars brings the Halo atmosphere in the RTS world, thanks to great sounds, graphics, animations and charisma as well. The game completes the Halo FPS trilogy, unveiling unknown important storyline steps, but the lack of a deeper control layout and innovative ideas results in a superficial management of the troops , which will become frustrating in a lot of gameplay situations. The presence of only 15 campaign missions with only 2 factions Skirmish doesn’t help it to become a "Heroic" product. Probably its still the best "classic-style" RTS for a console, if you don’t consider "EndWar" (which has a different gameplay concept), but it could be a better game.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita’s Rewind is a charming nostalgic beat-‘em-up that successfully captures the essence of the original show. While it doesn’t quite reach the heights of TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge or Streets of Rage 4—currently the benchmarks in the classic side-scrolling beat-’em-up genre—it offers a good variety of levels and a simple yet enjoyable gameplay experience. The diverse range of enemies adds to the fun, especially when playing with friends. However, the lack of move variety between the different characters and certain less polished sections—like the shooter-style stages—bring down the overall quality somewhat. That said, anyone looking for a solid beat-’em-up to enjoy with friends, particularly fans of the series, will likely have a great time. This idea works quite well and gets you into the loop of “I’ll do one more thing and then stop for today,” but you end up never stopping. While it’s true that some missions can be a bit confusing and the dialogues sometimes feel out of place with the game’s atmosphere, Été still manages to leverage interaction to offer a captivating mix of pure fun and virtual drawing.
