Feb 20, 2020With its evocative setting and a delectable mix of PvE and PvP gameplay that provides a peerless theater for emergent player stories, Hunt: Showdown is an exceptionally clever and thoughtful shooter that elevates the genre as a whole. I can see Hunt Showdown being a fixture of my gaming diet for months, even years to come.

Feb 20, 2020The PS4 version is very close to the PC version even if it a bit less impressive visually. There are a few graphic bugs on the water surfaces, nothing really bad. Whether it's for matchmaking or framerate, the experience is complete. Clearly the best co-op FPS of 2019.

Feb 24, 2020Hunt: Showdown is perfect for gamers who are in it for the long haul. Those that love the rush of endorphins that come with a long-sought-after victory, and who are okay with death after death after near-victory after dumb mistake/disconnection/other tragedy that hinders an otherwise flawless ascent towards the next bloodline level.

Mar 11, 2020I'll admit I wasn’t keen on Hunt: Showdown to start with, but after the first few matches I realised there's something special here. This is an unusual entry in a genre ruled by far snappier shooters, and it takes time to get your head around Crytek's clever twist on the formula. Stick with it and you'll be rewarded with a uniquely engrossing multiplayer experience.

Feb 20, 2020Hunt Showdown is a tactical shooter like no other you´ve ever played. It delivers a great balance between fights, horror elements, stealth... set in 19th century Louisiana. On the downside there is no single player mode and we encountered some problems with matchmaking.

Feb 29, 2020HUNT: Showdown has the potential to be one of the very best FPS/horror games out there, but the initial content is not enough to keep the player engaged for long periods of time.

Feb 20, 2020Hunt could have been so much more. As a hypothetical single player game, in which you carefully research a mark as you make your way through a deep south Gothic nightmare towards the final, hellish, confrontation, Hunt could have been something truly special. But commercial reality won't allow for that. Multiplayer shooters and content-driven live services are where the money's at, and in chasing the money Crytek has produced something that's a whole lot of fun to play, but ultimately shallow, vapid, and a complete waste of all the effort that went into the theme and design of the thing.
