Gears 5 is the natural evolution of the Gears series: a more daring game, in every possible way. Even if Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope is clearly the sequel of the game from 2017 in game mechanics and structure, the people at Ubisoft took some risks trying to refine the formula and opening the maps, building in the process a much better game. Street Fighter 6 once again proves itself to be an outstanding fighting game, even on the Switch 2. The graphical downgrade is minor and most noticeable in handheld mode, while on a 4K TV the differences compared to more powerful consoles are significantly reduced. Being able to play it on the go is a major plus—especially since, unlike the original launch version from two years ago, this one includes all Season 1 and 2 characters at no extra cost. It also features two simple but fun exclusive modes designed for casual play with friends. The only major drawback is the World Tour mode, which runs at just 30 fps—something that can be quite frustrating. Aside from that, though, we’re still talking about one of the best fighting games of this generation, and it holds up well on the Switch 2. One word of advice: if you’re planning to play seriously, we strongly recommend investing in a proper controller—Joy-Cons are far from ideal for a game this technical.

Skul: The Hero Slayer is a procedurally generated rogue-lite that revolves around the use of different skulls to change gameplay stiles. In this early access phase, though, it lacks balance. [Early access score = 77]

You're not gonna change your idea of Cyberpunk 2077 with this new DLC and with the new features of 2.0 version, but CD Projekt has now delivered the game that should have been published three years ago.

MachineGames handled the port internally, without relying on specialized third-party studios; while the result is generally convincing, it involves certain technical choices that are worth knowing about before making a purchase.

The Island of Armos DLC for Pokémon Sword & Shield is targeted more towards the hardcore players of the series, granting some new, challenging battles for those who are looking for them. Players who are instead looking for story-driven content will instead have to wait for the second DLC, hoping it will deliver something more in that regard.

This will make Nintendo Switch Sports a constantly evolving title that can even double its content over the course of a year or two. The only hope is that Nintendo does not put too much hands on the price of future DLCs and that maybe it can include them in the Online package as already done with other additional content, such as that of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Fortnite is a well-crafted mix, a game that takes all from Minecraft and Left 4 Dead to create something new. Unfortunately, this action builder from Epic Games could show everything in the few first hours. Also, it's very unbalanced in chasing the money from the "free" users.

Considering the variety and versatility promised by the development team in terms of configuration to properly enjoy Rise of the Ronin, one has the feeling that the same mixed result has been achieved as the console version. All things considered, some post-launch patches will be necessary to enjoy an even more solid experience: the publisher has already confirmed to us that several updates are on the way, but at the moment know that the launch version needs more than a few technical refinements.

Starfield aims to be Bethesda Game Studios' magnum opus: it's compelling, entertaining and familiar: it feels like spending time with a longtime friend. This also means that it is inherently old in its structure and in how its universe reacts to the player. It's a shame that it comes with some unforgivable sins, like how dull the planet explorations is, but you will spend tons of hours in the game nonetheless. [Review in Progress]

God of War: Ragnarok on PC is yet another confirmation that expertly crafted ports are still possible, despite everything. Stunning graphics (though you’ll need a good PC to handle all that visual splendor), gameplay as sharp as Kratos’ blades, and a gripping narrative that won’t let you go. Sure, there was the risk of relying on past success and resting on its laurels. It doesn’t revolutionize, nor does it need to: it perfects what already worked on the PlayStation platform, with a confidence that few titles manage to maintain. And that’s perfectly fine.
