Like a divorced parent trying to win the affection of an only child, the game dishes out rewards with every breath.

The multiplayer is the strongest it has ever been, and the coop mode has been expanded from an addition to a full-fledged mode. Modern Warfare 3 won't blow away anyone looking for anything new, but it will deliver enough thrills and quality to keep players engaged and coming back for more.

Modern Warfare 3 is what the fans expected - fast paced multiplayer action with some new twists and game modes that are a definitely a fresh breeze. But there are also a great campaign and the usual challenging Spec Ops.

Modern Warfare 3 doesn't do anything new, but it also doesn't do anything wrong. For better or worse, this is a slick and well-metered trio of modes that make an entertaining package, but Sledgehammer Games and Infinity Ward are simply looking to augment previous games rather than expand the series into pastures new.

Largely feels like an iterative title...This isn't to say that Modern Warfare 3 is at all a bad game-it's an attractive and polished effort with tight controls, addictive multiplayer, and the sense that one is truly on a battlefield, rather than carrying on a miniature war behind the scenes.

This is an exciting and rewarding game, but the series' signature thrills have lost some of their luster. Modern Warfare 3 iterates rather than innovates, so the fun you have is familiar. Fortunately, it's also utterly engrossing and immensely satisfying, giving fans another reason to rejoice in this busy shooter season.

Modern Warfare 3 doesn't reinvent gunpowder, but sticks to the recipe of the previous games in the series. With a decent story and good multiplayer it's a game worth playing, but the lack of willingness to add improvements in gameplay show a laziness often found in a complacent game series.

Kill confirmed is a great game mode that just about eliminates all campers. There's a wider selection of hardcore game types. Not as much customization as black ops but still enough to always give you something new to try. Ability to changevparty leader is a nice addition. Maps are big but everyone gives the option of long or close range combat. I gave this a nine because nothing is perfect but for me its pretty close. Expand

The online game play has only been slightly tweaked since the previous game and the overall game feels rushed and un-finished. The single player game play is once again, exactly like MW2, it feels rushed and boring. It's a lot of the same and there is not much to say. MW3 feels like a cash in to make some extra cash, because they know that their players are going to buy their game. I cannot finish the single player because the levels are not fun, and they feel like a task that I NEED to complete just for the achievements. Same exact thing with spec ops mode, I feel like I need to beat all the levels just for that achievement score. Nothing more. Also, I am aware most of the people working on the game got laid off, and I feel sorry for those people, but, to put it simply, there are crews of 10 or less people who make much better games, in a shorter amount of time. It can't be that hard to put a new skin on MW2, because that's what this game is. Expand

I wish I had saved my $100 I payed for the hardened edition and bought anything but this game. I refuse to buy another Modern Snorefare game until they update their engine. Even then I may never buy another CoD game again let alone another Infinity ward or Activision game. You can only screw over your fans so many times. The fact that the developers are begging people for good scores shows how piss poor of a game it is. These are not "suspiciously low" as you would lead people to believe Mr. Schofield they are accurate and honest. People are voicing their frustration about being screwed over continually by the same people. You ruined a great franchise and quite possibly ruined the first person military genre. This is by far the worst game I have played this year and I played Call of Juarez: The Cartel. EAD Cod EAD!!! Expand

How can you rate a game as a 0? When it is not a game.
The game adds relatively nothing new:
An over-the-top Michael Bays campaign (anywhere from 6-10 hours of gameplay)
    New Spec-Ops missions
New Maps (albeit reusing assets from even COD4)
    New Weapons

This isn't a game, this is an expansion to MW2.
When you innovate too much in a sequel, you can lose players by not keeping the experience of the previous game
When you don't innovate, your essentially selling the same thing two years later for $60.
TLDR; let me copy from MW2 like MW3 is:
