This action-adventure is so smart, so well-written, and delivered with such an obvious love for its source material, I daresay it is both the best licensed game ever made, and arguably the best game of its kind in our current console generation.
  2. Batman: Arkham Asylum is not just the best comic game ever, the game actually managed to rank high in our best games of all time list. Whichever system you own and regardless of your gaming budget, the Dark Knight’s latest adventure is not one to be missed.
  3. A phenomenal achievement, and I can’t wait to see what Rocksteady has in store next—personally, I’m hoping for a sequel set in Gotham City. Arkham Asylum is the kind of game you can’t stop playing, yet don’t ever want to end; it was almost a shame to have to review it, because I really wanted to take my time and enjoy every inch of Arkham Island.
  4. With fantastic voice acting, gorgeous graphics, and a well-written plot, what else could you want from a game? Great for hardcore Batmaniacs as well as gamers looking for a solid action/adventure game, I'm happy to declare Batman: Arkham Asylum as the best Batman game ever.
  5. A brilliant experience. No other license-shackled developer has understood their subject quite as well as Rocksteady, and this is without a doubt the definitive representation of the Dark Knight.
  6. Whether you fancy skulking in the shadows, smashing slow motion fists in into a goon's skull, or simply using some cool gadgets, you can do no wrong with what is Eidos' best game in years.
  7. It triumphs where most other superhero games and other types of licensed action games fail: it makes you feel like the lead character. It makes you feel like The Batman.

Everything is great the story the game play the graphics the characters the music everything the only problem is you can't play as The JokerEverything is great the story the game play the graphics the characters the music everything the only problem is you can't play as The Joker in this version but it doesn't away too much and yes the final boss was boring and too easy but it is fine because every other boss fight like the Bane and Poison Ivy boss fight to name a few and the upgrade system works so well and getting new gadgets is always exciting the fighting is great and fun the story is wonderful and its great solving riddles that are like little Easter eggs to the villains who weren't in the game like Mr. Freeze and The Penguin but that leads me to my next problem my favorite Batman villain Two-Face is not in the game and it may sound whiny but they mentioned him literally three times once at the end once early in the game by The Joker which made me think he was gonna show up later but at last no and they made two riddles for him that's just a missed opportunity I would have like to see him loads more than Poison Ivy but enough of me being a pissed fan boy this is such a good game that the cons i mentioned don't effect me that much and they were hard to come up with really the only cons that bugged me is they didn't make Joker playable in this version and the ending boss fight but i'm gonna keep this spoiler free and overall this game is still a 10/10 buy it! especially if your a comic fan! The game paints an excellent picture of the caped crusader in a fresh, exciting adventure that has all the elements of a classic Batman story: stealth, action, mystery, thrills, and more. They've taken relatively untouched villains - a killer crocodile and tally marking serial killer for example - and breathed new life into them. As always, everyone's favorite Clown Prince of Crime stands out as an excellent villain for Batman - Mark Hamill is, and always will be, the master at putting himself into his purple clown shoes. For hardcore Batman fans, the game offers interesting quips of information and little known facts. For those eager to complete a challenge, there are plenty of side missions to complete - including a riddle or a dozen. All in all, Batman: Arkham Asylum is an excellent game. For anyone who enjoys stealth, action, or (obvisouly) Batman games, then AA is the game for you. One of the best games of 2009. Any minor flaws (such as Batman's own character depth, or lack thereof) are completely overshadowed by the landmark success that the game has achieved. Expand
