Screamer comes as a genuinely refreshing surprise for the genre. The anime sequences are striking, the story is bold and unpredictable, and the characters are vibrant, each driven by clear motivations. The addition of racing mechanics to a visual novel feels natural rather than gimmicky, blending seamlessly with the experience. On top of that, it’s both engaging and satisfyingly challenging to master.

In order to stay entertaining, Disgaea 6 had to drop some of its prior mechanics and go for easier grind but more over the top moments. While this can disappoint some of the fans of the long-running series, it is at the same time essential as it makes this title as great as any other game in the franchise. An absolute must-have for anyone who enjoys a funny story, crazy mechanics and absolute madness when it comes to levelling up your characters.

Dead Island 2 is a great sequel. This provides an easy choice when looking for reasons to play it. If you know what to expect, you will find plenty and more. Don’t ask for too much, and you will surely have a blast. A genuinely bloody blast indeed.

If you are looking for an intriguing story, told through the style of a bizarre colouring book, you are in for a treat. It's more an experience than an actual game, but there is no doubt Minute of Islands is not your everyday adventure.

Biomorph is a classic metroidvania-style game that doesn’t break any known genre rules. However, the morphing mechanics enhance and add variance to the gameplay loop, whether you’re exploring or fighting enemies. A future Metroidvania Hall of Famer, if you ask me.

We have waited a long time for another game in this series but what we got is a title that just plays safely. The number of heroes is vast and are plenty of amazing cinematics, but to many problems with simple basic enemies can ruin the fun. All in all, it's a great cooperative game for a bunch of friends to enjoy and have fun with.

The Surge, despite being a Souls-like game, differentiates itself with rich combat mechanics and varied enemies, making it a great experience.

Even though dear professor is missing on this one, his daughter still manages to keep the flames of the series' spirit bright and burning. It is a loving and relaxing adventure that may not be as epic and mind bending as before, but still pretty much close to the original charm. Whether you go for the better and older, or newer yet still a great title, there is no wrong choice here. Leave the thinking for in game…

The word ''update'' perfectly describes not only this edition of the game but probably the last five titles in a row. Then again, PES remains to be a good, license lacking simulation. The price is fair but the wait is real, as we are already looking forward to the new installment that will shake things up a bit, after a long wait.
