Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is a good remake of a good game. It's not the right chapter if you're looking for innovation, in any case, since in terms of gameplay it takes up the same mechanics as Frogwares' most recent games. We recommend the game to fans, but anyone who was not impressed by Chapter One or The Sinking City is unlikely to change their opinion with The Awakened.

Tanuki Studio has concocted a stimulating plot that takes cues from Borges’ novel but manages to enrich it with new elements that create an interesting framework, a not-that-enthralling rhythm notwithstanding. The soundtrack is really pretty, offering sophisticated sonorities that were not often heard in video games, inserted in a virtual world. It’s a shame that the game mechanics give little sense of progression and remain anchored to the most classical stealth, degenerating in tough, uselessly frustrating platforming.

EA SPORTS PGA TOUR hits the right spot and manages to strike an excellent balance between hyper-realistic simulation and arcade golf, with many game modes, both online and offline, and an interesting use of top-notch, up-to-date technology to develop faithful virtual reconstruction of the most beautiful golf courses in the world, keeping a keen eye on ball dynamics. The experience is fun and enjoyable, also due to the numerous options given to players to customize the difficulty level; it’s a shame that swings have not been rendered in a truly precise way, but EA Sports makes it up building a robust, governable game system, capable to adapt to the needs of both absolute beginners and golf pros alike.

Remnant From the Ashes is a good game, but it is clear that the Switch version is not the best and not preferable if you have other platforms. On the technical side, every element has taken a visible hit, but the frame rate is stable enough that you can play without too much worry. It is probably not the best game for outside play, but it also depends on your taste. However, if you only have a Switch and have always been intrigued by this adventure, we recommend it.

Road 96 Mile 0 is not the prequel we wished to have: leaving behind the procedural structure and the roguelike dynamics to introduce not very well-baked rhythm game sections, DigixArt’s work fails to express the ludic, emotive and political incisiveness that Road 96 could boast. Moreover, the replayability factor has been drastically reduced. The team’s will to change direction and go further on new paths is completely understandable, but the developers’ work lacks focus and fails to engage the players in the adventure’s various ludic systems.

Give me toilet paper! is an absurd game, but in the best sense of the word. The original control system is refreshing, the design ideas effective, and the setting prints a smile on your face the whole time. Tchia's adventure works at its finest in its exploratory phases: running up the islands inside the body of a deer, a bird or a gecko offers widely different points of view. Being able to alternate perspectives and abilities is Tchia's strongest selling point, with Awaceb that has demonstrated undivided attention and deep love towards New Caledonia. It's a shame that exploratory and combat phases were poorly balanced during some moments of the main campaign, with the concentration of mandatory battles against Maano in a chapter in particular. Blanc is the combination of a bedtime story's narrative and graphic novel's art style but its magic is often disrupted by technical issues and frustrating puzzles.

Dead Space is an excellent, visually stunning remake that vastly improves the original game. The PC of course is heavy and it requires a really powerful hardware in order to run at its best, but there are plenty of options that will allow you to get the best compromise when it comes to detail and performance.

Ultimately, Wanted: Dead appears to be a frankly negligible game, which has the narrative side as its only reason of interest. Too bad, because when we started it for the first time we really hoped to find ourselves in front of a modern emulator of Ninja Gaiden, but as we played we ended up only wishing more and more intensely to get to the end as soon as possible to be able to use the uninstall function and forget it.

It's a simple amusement with next to no structured gameplay but, mainly thanks to its physics, Castle Crumble can be a relaxing and satisfying one on iOS devices.

Devolver Tumble Time starts well but quickly turns out to be a (potentially) cash grabber: tickets run out very fast and you have to either wait for them to recharge or watch some awful gambling apps trailers.

Hogwarts Legacy is the best Harry Potter inspired video game ever made. Avalanche Software managed to capture the magic of the Wizarding World and built a relaxing and satisfying safe haven for every potterhead. It’s not all roses, many flaws from the open world formula are still present and it remains a cross-gen video game, but it manages to keep its core promise: to give life to Hogwarts itself. And this, in our book, it’s already a big win.

The premise is brilliant and well executed for at least a half of the game, but RE:CALL seems to slow its stride in the second half. Anyway, it's still a clever and interesting take on the detective adventure and puzzle genres.

Pizza Tower is a juicy slice of heart-pounding 2d platformer. Taking the weirder sides from the classic Wario Land series, guiding Peppino Spaghetti through increasingly curious and crazy levels will be one of the most fun experiences of the year. If you're looking for a remedy to the lack of that 1990s flavor in your video games, Pizza Tower will definitely be for you.

Deliver Us Mars is better than Deliver Us The Moon and enriches the story by giving it a more human side. Maybe it is too linear, but it is a journey worth taking.
