The game will take the detective duo across four locations - Victorian London, a Swiss psych ward, the New Orleans bayous, and the Scottish Highlands - as they try to separate reality from the supernatural while trying to put a stop to these shadowy madmen.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened (2023) is a phenomenal mystery game and sequel with an intriguing storyline, awesome features, and beautiful graphics. Even though the game is shorter than the previous one, I think this is currently my favorite Sherlock Holmes game because the side and main quests never felt like a dull moment. There was always something to look forward to and a motive to keep playing, unveiling the reason for the people vanishing. Although I wished the game continued after Chapter VIII, I understand. Now, I hope there will be a third game in the series. Maybe it will answer the ending. I cannot wait to see the future of the younger Sherlock Holmes series. We might even see him grow.

For a title one year in development, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened impresses with enjoyable — albeit simple — puzzles, a fun story, and beautiful visuals.

The (old) new adventure of Sherlock Holmes was a success. The tentacle madness grabs you by the throat and the first big case of the duo Sherlock and John is on the way to a successful series. The Lovecraftian plot makes the detective much more special and greenlights more cases. The Awakened is more than a successful case of Sherlock Holmes.

A delightful remake of an exciting crossover between Lovecraftian myths and the unshakeable logic of Sherlock Holmes.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened is the direct product of an excessively-rushed development cycle. It suffers from questionable narrative direction, poor visual fidelity, and generic puzzles that will entertain the player at first, but quickly become tedious over time. While this is by no means a Sherlock Holmes game at its worst, it certainly falls short of the gold standard set by Frogwares themselves with their past entries. If you're an absolute Holmes diehard, The Awakened might scratch your itch, but if you're not already hooked by the Sherlock Holmes IP, then The Awakened probably won't do anything to pique your interest.

Sherlock Holmes The Awakened is a competent remake featuring all the best features the series is known for, such as an engaging mystery and solid investigative gameplay. While the game is lacking in terms of innovation, doing away with the open-world setting seen in Chapter One, Frogwares developed Sherlock Holmes The Awakened it in less than a year and in the middle of a war, so no one should be disappointed that the game doesn't feel much different from past entries in the franchise.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened could have been an intriguing clash of Cluedo/Clue with Cthulu, but instead it’s just a case of squandered potential.

The levels are very small, clues are easy to find, puzzles not that difficult. Animation and dialog feel stiff. Its a bizarre mix of the two worlds but short enough to not overstay its welcome. I had my fun but only give a higher rating because I love the the Cult of Cthulhu. Expand

Nothing feels polished, the balance of the game feels off, and overall just a boring experience. Despite the Lovecraftian references, it feels like the developers weren't too sure how mix these two properties in a way that was cohesive without sacrificing one. The original Awakened solved that issue by keeping the story a lot more grounded avoiding the problem of trying to explain away the unexplainable, focusing instead on the growing horror.. Swing and a miss for the series, sadly. Expand

Because I am a massive fan of Sherlock, but this game failed spectacularly. This game doesn't even come close to making me feel like a quack detective let alone the greatest detective.
Every **** thing is trial and error. There are zero scopes for failing as long as you spam-click everything you see and collect so-called "evidence".
There is a logic node-type **** (They call it mind palace. what a **** joke) where you answer questions like "Where is that guy?" by combining fairly good pieces of evidence. The problem here is you can just spam every piece of evidence until you get the correct combinations of evidence to get the answer. Like where is the detective stuff?
Same with questioning people with evidence. You can ask them about any evidence you have until you get all the information they can give on some evidence until then you can ask them about any bull**** evidence you have. Here also the same. You can just spam the pieces of evidence without thinking about what to ask this guy that would benefit the case most. No penalty no nothing. This "detective" game is a complete joke.
