A very interesting remake, filled with even more Lovecraftian horror. There are some flaws, though it's hard for me to be picky when the developers made this game during a literal war. Still, it is absolutely worth playing.

Played the original years ago and it was a great game. This remake is ruined by a terrible off-centered camera and a bad Holmes design.

    Avoid it, play the original.

Unfortunately, it's a mess. Nothing feels polished, the balance of the game feels off, and overall just a boring experience. Swing and a miss for the series, sadly. Expand

For fans of Lovecraftian horror this is definitely interesting, for others not so much. The levels are very small, clues are easy to find, puzzles not that difficult. Animation and dialog feel stiff. Its a bizarre mix of the two worlds but short enough to not overstay its welcome. I had my fun but only give a higher rating because I love the the Cult of Cthulhu.

I had some hope for this game. Because I am a massive fan of Sherlock, but this game failed spectacularly. This game doesn't even come close to making me feel like a quack detective let alone the greatest detective.
Every **** thing is trial and error. There are zero scopes for failing as long as you spam-click everything you see and collect so-called "evidence".

There is a logic node-type **** (They call it mind palace. what a **** joke) where you answer questions like "Where is that guy?" by combining fairly good pieces of evidence. The problem here is you can just spam every piece of evidence until you get the correct combinations of evidence to get the answer. Like where is the detective stuff?
Same with questioning people with evidence. You can ask them about any evidence you have until you get all the information they can give on some evidence until then you can ask them about any bull**** evidence you have. Here also the same. You can just spam the pieces of evidence without thinking about what to ask this guy that would benefit the case most. No penalty no nothing. This "detective" game is a complete joke.

Frogwares did a great job a long time ago combining Sherlock, Watson and the Cthulhu mythos, but this remake presents the story at its best with the most impressive atmosphere.

Sherlock Holmes The Awakened (2023) is a phenomenal remake and addition to Frogwares’ long list of adventures, leaning more towards the supernatural but still fitting snuggly into the Arthur Conan Doyle-style of the mystery genre. While there are minor issues with presentation and gameplay, those who are Sherlock Holmes fans (or H.P. Lovecraft fans) should definitely experience this—even those who have played the 2006 original or the 2008 remaster.

Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened (2023) is a phenomenal mystery game and sequel with an intriguing storyline, awesome features, and beautiful graphics. Even though the game is shorter than the previous one, I think this is currently my favorite Sherlock Holmes game because the side and main quests never felt like a dull moment. There was always something to look forward to and a motive to keep playing, unveiling the reason for the people vanishing. Although I wished the game continued after Chapter VIII, I understand. Now, I hope there will be a third game in the series. Maybe it will answer the ending. I cannot wait to see the future of the younger Sherlock Holmes series. We might even see him grow.

With a sharp narrative focus, engaging gameplay, and a fresh take on its characters as younger men, Sherlock Holmes: The Awakened functions as both a stellar remake and a compelling sequel to Chapter One.
