    EA SPORTS PGA TOUR hits the right spot and manages to strike an excellent balance between hyper-realistic simulation and arcade golf, with many game modes, both online and offline, and an interesting use of top-notch, up-to-date technology to develop faithful virtual reconstruction of the most beautiful golf courses in the world, keeping a keen eye on ball dynamics. The experience is fun and enjoyable, also due to the numerous options given to players to customize the difficulty level; it’s a shame that swings have not been rendered in a truly precise way, but EA Sports makes it up building a robust, governable game system, capable to adapt to the needs of both absolute beginners and golf pros alike.

    EA Sports PGA Tour proves what the publisher is capable of at its pomp: this is a jaw-droppingly beautiful sports game, with a sublime selection of licensed courses and a surprising amount of depth. Its demanding swing mechanic is slightly let down by a sluggish frame rate, but its single player is boosted by a strong sense of progression – and in multiplayer there’s tons to do. This is an impressively strong effort overall, and a sign of good things to come ahead of the company’s other anticipated comeback, EA Sports College Football.

    As golf games go, this is the most fun I have had in a while. It's a massive improvement over recent years' titles. The career mode is both addictive and rewarding, it's full of contact and the presentation is both cinematic and beautiful. A few issues will not get in the way of what I think is the best golf sim around at the moment. Let's hit the greens, people!

It offers a considerable amount of content and a rather realistic game structure, with some graphical bugs and some questionable choices in the game modes (especially in the Career) that slow down its race to success. This is a good starting point which that could improve along the way.

    Between the lack of personality, inconsistent aesthetics, physics that, accurate or not, look broken, and cynical always online requirements, EA Sports PGA Tour gets just about everything wrong. I found myself jumping right back to Easy Come, Easy Golf almost immediately. Sure, it’s not the most realistic golf game out there, but at least it has fun with the sport and I’m not booted from the game after every other hole. EA’s dour, miserable effort is the “you must be fun at parties” joke/insult manifested as a sports game.

    The quick sim is totally broken. 95 Over golfer and each time you do a quick sim its over par, only playing 4-6 holes for 4 rounds its hardThe quick sim is totally broken. 95 Over golfer and each time you do a quick sim its over par, only playing 4-6 holes for 4 rounds its hard to get 13/14 under when you lose shots each time it sims, honestly it would be fine if the sim was "E" but shooting 6 under on your 5 holes and then ending the round at 2 under feels terrible because the sim sucks. The game is fairly decent if you can afford the time to always play all 18 for 4 rounds. The fact that quick sim is so broken makes the game a complete grind.… Expand

Once it did the lure of good graphics soon wore off and it became obvious this was another half-baked sports game that EA slapped a few big licences on and peddled for a premium.

    The ball physics are laughable. Even on the lowest 'difficulty' there is obvious RNG to screw the player over no matter how well you shape your shot. Putting in this game is a lot like the submissions in their dreadful UFC games, just completely devoid of any nuance and entirely untrue to the sport of golf.

    Lastly, these scum only fix bugs that benefit the player. But when it's a bug that's a detriment to the player they couldn't care less. Challenges not registering 3 months after release.
