    While EA deserve all the hate they get hurled at them, that does not mean they can't make a good game. This is a good game that feels like an updated version of the old EA Tiger Woods games.

    Great game. Don’t understand the hate. Love this game.. difficultly level progression perfect. Loads of content that to me does not appear to me trying to take my money which in fairness is a trend in most EA Games. Competitive and tournament mode very fun. More realistic than 2k. Love the the shot Types.

    I've played the early access on this and previously played the last couple of 2k games, so thought I'd jot down some thoughts. In terms of gameplay, 2K is super robust if a little unflashy. EA seems pretty good so far, still trying to figure out the nuances but it plays a good game. There are a few glitchy moments with balls hitting spectators and acting a bit strange, but in the main itI've played the early access on this and previously played the last couple of 2k games, so thought I'd jot down some thoughts. In terms of gameplay, 2K is super robust if a little unflashy. EA seems pretty good so far, still trying to figure out the nuances but it plays a good game. There are a few glitchy moments with balls hitting spectators and acting a bit strange, but in the main it plays fairly similarly to 2K23.

    On presentation, EA comes out on top, it just feels a lot more televisual. 2K isn't bad, this is just better. Commentary is solid, can't choose between the two, though this is played a bit straighter. The licensed golfers look good too and overall the course visuals are a clear notch above 2K's. Game modes, lots to do here, sponsor challenges and quests, lots of courses and of course Augusta, which looks amazing and is worth the price of admission for a lot of people. Looks like there's better options here for upgrading gear, though the character creator is actually not as good as 2K which is disappointing, because 2K's wasn't amazing.

    The RPG progression system seems a bit easier than I found 2K23. Just tidier menus and again presentation feels slightly better.

    Ultimately you probably need to spend some serious hours with this to fully judge, but feels like a solid 8 and having a good time so far. Two good golf games, and a toss up between whether you like the upgraded licences and graphics here or the customisation and community course creations of 2K.    … Expand

    A great refresh to the Golf genre.
    The game for a launch title these days comes out the box overall pretty solid.
    Looks great, gameplay feels a more balanced lifelike pace. Some fine tuning to be done & cleansing clearly like with any new game which will come. As long as the game is supported with updates & legend golfers, more courses this is a very worthy purchase. I can't believe I'm    A great refresh to the Golf genre.

    I’ve been a huge Tiger Woods PGA fan since it debuted. I have fond memories of playing with a buddy of mine making up our own gambling rules as we battled from sand trap to sand trap lol. What I can say is as soon as I started this up, watching the Masters course come to view brought chills down my spine. IT’S GORGEOUS and the presentation rivals the old EA Tiger Woods games, and it’s aI’ve been a huge Tiger Woods PGA fan since it debuted.     Everyone complaining about this game, is either 1) not really a golf fan and / or 2) doesn’t want to take time to learn how to play golf (albeit digital).

    This game starts off with you playing as defending Masters Champ Scotty Scheffler in a casual round at Augusta National. It gives pop up tips as you play the round to help you learn the basics of how to play, swing, choose clubs, and how the physics work. Everyone complaining they can’t hit greens doesn’t understand golf, and how to play shots. It’s simple. Practice, like real life, and earn the respect of this game!

    If you don’t want to bother with learning how to actually enjoy golf, and the beauty this game brings to New Gen which we’ve been waiting for, for YEARS, I have nothing to say.

    2k Sports game is meh. I had it, and I’m selling it. It doesn’t even compare to this. This is the most inspired and excited for the season of Golf I’ve been with a game since the last Tiger Woods PGA tour game featuring Augusta on 360 back in 2013 I believe.

    Enjoy, and take the time to learn how to play and this will be enjoyable for months to come. Also - everyone complaining about glitches… its 2023. They’ll fix them with updates. Relax. It just released.

    The Masters is in a delay.

    Pick this up, pop it in, start it up, and cruise through a round of your own enjoying every camera angle, flyover, and breathtaking shot you can muster at Augusta National before they resume real play ;).    … Expand

    This game is fun....and plays a good game of golf.

    Pros: Graphics (it's the best looking golf game I've ever played) Available Courses Player progression/career mode Online Tournaments are competitive even for non-sweaty players Ball physics Seemingly endless number of challenges and things to do Cons: Shot meter could be more challenging Flop shots are too easy and easily    This game is fun....and plays a good game of golf.

    Shot meter could be more challenging
    Flop shots are too easy and easily spammed in tough situations
    in general it seems easy (until it isn't) with and difficulty settings don't seem to change things in any meaningful way

    I came into this game as a sim sports fan. I was worried EA’s offering would be to arcadey. I was wrong. This game is a gem. The courses are magnificent. The swing mechanics are fair but challenging. The licensing scratches the itch that 2k’s game can’t. If you like golf, this game is a must have.     The more and more you play the better you get and the better the game gets. Easily the best looking golf game out on the market and the only one with all four majors including the Masters. Need I say more?

    EA has made a great comeback on rebooting the PGA Tour series. The new PGA Tour game is fun and enjoyable. Graphics are amazing, swinging feels great but it’s quite challenging which is good and career mode is great. Only problem is it has minor technical issues but nothing game breaking so far. Overall the game is great!

    Great golf sim with brilliant graphics and physics. Best golf sim available. And you get to play the Masters! I mean, what more do you need!? Couple of things that could be improved; the UI is poor (eg. have to jump back to main menu between tournament rounds. Really?). Some bugs in the commentary that I'm sure will get fixed via updates. Overall, love this game so far.

    The long awaited return to the PGA Tour series is a very good one. It plays and runs smooth and it has good features. It is a very good golf simulation game.

    Please do not listen to the review bombs. A lot of them seem bitter because EA is at the helm. I've been playing 2k23 for a little while now, while I enjoy it, Road to the Masters is a huge improvement. There seem to be people upset about the greens, but fail to realize that they have made the greens as accurate as possible to the difficulty of the real courses. There seem to be people upset about the greens, but fail to realize that they have made the greens as accurate as possible to the difficulty of the real courses. Other people need to actually do the tutorials and challenges (which there are a plethora of by the way) because they allow you to actually learn the greens, your swing, shaping your shot, your short game and so on. The swing stick is the only mechanic here, but it is a VAST improvement over the 2k23 swing stick. My shots feel much more accurate and consistent, which is relieving because having to resort to the 3 click in 2k23 was a disappointing experience. It is also nice to see components like power shot and ball spin are back. As far as content goes, Road to the Masters does not disappoint. There are plenty of things to do in both the offline and online modes. You can jump right into a casual match and relax, or bring out that competitive side and play ranked, get into a tournament, complete challenges, etc. Hundreds of challenges await you by the way. Completing these challenges will earn you game currency, gear, and experience points. While the gear you start off with leaves a lot to be desired, it's nice to know that there is plenty to unlock, or you can go to the in-game store of course. Throughout your time with the game you'll unlock items for your bag, apparel, skills, and equipment. As far as added customization goes, you'll see you can even customize your ball and club trail to have various effects like lightning or plasma. I do have to add that the character customization was a little disappointing as you can only choose from pre-made faces that you cannot edit yourself. You can change hair, hair color, and eye color. Now, let's get down to visuals. These courses are downright beautiful. They did a tremendous job here with the Frostbite engine, creating stunning landscapes that look great up close and afar. I can recall playing a course with a storm looming in the distance, and I couldn't help but feel how perfectly they made all the elements work together to make you feel like it was real. Overall, this is a solid golf sim with a little bit of arcade mixed in. The greens can be difficult, but the seemingly endless challenges are always there to help your game. While it's not perfect with the lack of a detailed character creator, and hardly any audio coach to help you along in challenges, this game is a must have for any pro golf fan.… Expand

    Great graphics, solid game play, enough elite courses. The clear choice for solo play on current gen systems. Huge game play improvements have been made with the 2 most recent patch releases, plus the addition of a new course. Not yet perfect, but the support from EA has been solid to this point, so things look positive thus far.

    I had low expectations for this game, but I have been very surprised how good it is. Gameplay is spot on very good and a lot of fun. Each golf course really does play different with 30 courses is great. The game has a lot of depth with career mode, many challenges and daily, weekly, and monthly tournaments. Career mode is great with your created player you can upgrade R.P.G. style likeI had low expectations for this game, but I have been very surprised how good it is. Best golf game graphics ever. There are a few downsides like private match needs more options. I played online with a buddy and it was fun we played 2 courses with no disconnect or issue at all. Just hope they will update with more options beside only having stroke play in private matches. No play to win mechanics and playing tournaments and challenges gives you a lot of coins to use for gear. If online private matches were updated and 60 FPS update which is coming and maybe a few more courses and a few more golfers this would be a 10. Hopefully they will update a few things which I am hopeful they will. I have not regretted buying at all. This game is a lot of fun!… Expand

With the exception of a few important players and courses, this return to golf for EA provides virtually everything you would want in a golf sports game in 2023, including some of the greatest courses and best players in the world, as well as a chance to play alongside them in a career. The updated gameplay system works great the majority of the time, and it feels like a step forward in golf gameplay, especially compared to EA’s past golf games. Knowing that there are now two PGA Tour licensed games on the market, you’re not going to see enormous differences between the two, but if you’re looking for a golf game to play and haven’t picked one up in a while, EA Sports PGA Tour will do just fine.    … Expand

    Sceptical especially as EA has ruined other sports franchise games in the past (hello Madden I’m looking at you) but this is excellent!!!!!! Graphics are fire along with the presentation. I love the difficulty curve and once used to it prefer the swing over 2K completely. Career is brilliant

    I've played a bit everyday since launch and it gets better every time. As a golf lover, I wish every game gives me all that fun and challenge. Gorgeous, balanced and with an incredible technical approach.

    I am enjoying the game. It does lack character customization, you get about 50 or so generic faces, which it offered a way to shape or import. I hope they start putting out DLC for new courses, I have no issues paying for additional course content of some well done TPC courses, not fictional courses. All in all, great game, a slight learning curve but once you learn it, you master itI am enjoying the game. Leaving it on pro or arcade, yes, you are going to win every tourney once you get your go above 80, so utilize the tour or sim version for a challenge... Once you top out at level 50, you just collect XP with nowhere to use it. Wish they would add additional top out tier, or a way to start utilizing the millions of wasted XP once you top out.     As golf games go, this is the most fun I have had in a while. It's a massive improvement over recent years' titles. The career mode is both addictive and rewarding, it's full of contact and the presentation is both cinematic and beautiful. A few issues will not get in the way of what I think is the best golf sim around at the moment. Let's hit the greens, people!

    EA is back with a golf game and they don't hit a hole in one right away, but they do come off well. The game mainly stands out for its beautiful courses and smooth gameplay, which can provide hours of fun via the extensive career. The presentation of the sport, on the other hand, is a bit thin and visually the animations are a bit disappointing. Otherwise, the game has many small improvements to make. Nevertheless, it is a decent golf game that will entertain fans of the sport.
