+ Augusta National and St. Andrews

    Cons:
    - Career mode very buggy, visit EA's Answers (support) page and you'll see multiple complaints about career mode freezing, deleting itself, not properly completing a round, and more. These issues are happening on all platforms - Xbox, PS, and PC. I, myself, am experiencing this issue right now where it crashed at the end of the Amateur Championship and just keeps crashing any time I try to load into the next round.

    - Challenges and quests are also very buggy, frequently not registering completions.
    - 30 FPS with no performance mode.
    - Persistent online connection REQUIRED. Lose internet? EA Servers go down? No game for you.
    - Plastic player models with a VERY limited character creator.
    - Sluggish UI when trying to set up shots, choppy and sluggish swing mechanic.
    - An obscene amount of menus, all of which are very slow and cumbersome to navigate.
    - RPG elements wall off basic golf functions behind XP/Skill Point grinding.
    - In-Game customization store clearly built around selling microtransactions.
    - Putting is horrendous, especially the way the green grids and putt reads are laid out.
    - Sound bugs where the crowd or background noise just completely cut out and stay silent.

It really feels like EA spent all of their budget on their course creation team. There's no doubt all their fancy LIDAR course scanning and other technical achievements paid dividends on the course realism, but the rest of the game could have used some of that budgeting. After 8 years from the last EA golf outing, I truly expected better. Until it gets some patches to address the serious game breaking bugs and, hopefully, a patch that allows for 60fps play, save your money and stick with PGA2K. That game has its own bucket of issues but at least it's more consistent (and regularly cheaper).

Really good presentation with great courses, however a lot of bugs at launch hurt the experience. The putting grid shows incorrect breaks regularly throughout rounds. The career mode trailer showed the ability to adjust the number of rounds, however that feature is missing from the game. Although it can be frustrating to have a perfect swing on the stick result in a poorly hit shot because of randomness. Hopefully EA can sort some of the bugs out quickly as it will greatly improve the experience. Expand

infuriatingly poor physics that need to be fixed. Golf is already hard enough, EA sports is somehow making it far more difficult than that. This game is way harder than any of the PGA 2K games, where you could make them as easy or hard as you wanted to. They should have built a three click swing model into this game. Had they done that, it is closer to a 8/9 out of 10. As is, it is a beautiful, but frustrating experience. Expand

Finally there is a golf game with great graphics. Lazy and greedy 2K never improved the outdated Maximum Games Golf Club graphics. The courses are amazing and greatly designed. Everytime EA does something right, they still manage to do something wrong. This game runs at 30 FPS. Are you freaking kidding me? When I pay $70, I expect a performance mode. It's pathetic how these greedy developers are too lazy to add such a basic option at launch.

While the multiplayer is fine, it is much inferior to 2K PGA Tour. It lacks content. There is no course creator. To make matters worse, these lazy developers can't add something as simple as 2v2. 2K didn't have crossplay at launch, so I assume that's coming in a patch soon for this game? Either way, I expect more improvements in the online experience through patches. You better not disappoint me EA. I recommend this game until it's $30-$40.

So far pretty disappointing. It seems like no one actually played this before it went out. Yes - nice graphics. But the greens have so much that you cant see the hole while the ball is rolling. Also store is miserable and player options are ... well they didnt try very hard. I was frustrated with mechanics in 2k23 but this is much worse overall as a playing experience. i regret purchasing it. Expand

Many of the quest and features just dint work. It's buggy and laggy. Menus take 3-10 seconds to scroll thru each frame. It has less golfers, less clubs than 2k. No course creater/unlimited courses. No topgolf. No challenges during matches like 2k. I LOVE THE GRAPHICS. but the Green lines are broken and slope the wrong way.

I’m really enjoying this game. Career mode is solid. Graphics are very impressive. Lacks some depth in customization of golfer and no course creator but not too shabby for their first game in awhile. Like I said I really like the game but for $70 I can’t recommend unless you’re a huge fan of golf games.

Pretty Graphics inferior gameplay to PGA 2k23. Glad they added a 60fps mode but the 60fps mode is better looking on 2k. Buy PGA2k23, better gameplay and an endless amount of custom user created courses and online rankings

Some great highlights, but on average the ball is just too unpredictable. There's no consistency between what the ball is doing with identical shots, so when you birdie a hole it barely feels like you're responsible and when you bogey it's infuriating because you can't get the ball to do what you want. EA was hellbent on releasing this Master's weekend and us beta testers are paying the price.

The quick sim is totally broken. 95 Over golfer and each time you do a quick sim its over par, only playing 4-6 holes for 4 rounds its hard to get 13/14 under when you lose shots each time it sims, honestly it would be fine if the sim was "E" but shooting 6 under on your 5 holes and then ending the round at 2 under feels terrible because the sim sucks. As golf games go, this is the most fun I have had in a while. It's a massive improvement over recent years' titles. The career mode is both addictive and rewarding, it's full of contact and the presentation is both cinematic and beautiful. A few issues will not get in the way of what I think is the best golf sim around at the moment. Let's hit the greens, people!

EA is back with a golf game and they don't hit a hole in one right away, but they do come off well. The game mainly stands out for its beautiful courses and smooth gameplay, which can provide hours of fun via the extensive career. The presentation of the sport, on the other hand, is a bit thin and visually the animations are a bit disappointing. Otherwise, the game has many small improvements to make. Nevertheless, it is a decent golf game that will entertain fans of the sport.
