Set on the floating island of Vastus Isle, this place was once used as a magic workshop. The place is now in ruins and exploited to run experiments with AI.

Take on battles to push back the army of LAWS (Lethal Autonomous Weapons Systems) that are roaming around and help Stella, the humanoid AI left in charge of ALTAIR, to maintain peace on Vastus Isle.

Team up with other 3 players from all around the world and take on enemies with your friends. The game supports crossplay between Quest 2 and PCVR and features a native voice chat system.

Recommended for players who wants to experience stylish sword-fighting action and feel like the hero in an anime world.

Altair Breaker’s replay value leans heavily on weapons looted from chests and the joy of seeing numbers go up, but these things can’t take the weight, and so the game falls with great force onto its blankly staring face. It’s not bad, but it’s certainly not good. If you want to pretend to hit robots with a sword and get some light upper body exercise, then great, this will do the job, but don’t expect much more than that. [Issue#26, p.87]

Altair Breaker has interesting gameplay, but that’s about it. It’s a repetitive, limited game whose fun ends quickly.

ALTAIR BREAKER is a real disaster. From the level design and graphics to the difficulty level and online multiplayer, there is virtually nothing about this game that borders on sufficiency.

Altair Breaker lacks a storyline, the world of Vastus Isle is unimpressive and the gameplay becomes repetitive and uninteresting after a short amount of time. Even though the tracking is really good and the graphics are nice, we cannot recommend it due to the lack of content.

I wanted to enjoy ALTAIR BREAKER, especially after its promising tutorial but after diving into the meat of its gameplay, things start to fall apart fast. With that being said, I know that the developers can make a much better game so let's hope that they do in the future.

The few redeeming features in the vibrant visuals, accurate hand tracking, and the somewhat enjoyable traversal when using the glider are just not enough to resurrect this unfinished title. Altair Breaker can barely even be classified as a fully-fledged game; it proves the VR software stereotype correct by just being a glorified tech demo.
