In a market muddled with subpar survival games, V Rising is a noticeable step above the rest. The vampire aesthetic is executed upon phenomenally well, and the ARPG mechanics match the themes to perfection. Progression and base building are intuitively designed, and feature some nice range of depth to them. All in all, this is a superb game and a much-welcomed change of pace. It should only serve to get better once it eventually leaves early access. [Early Access Provisional Score = 80]

It is important to remember that Best Month Ever is a student project. Therefore it shouldn’t be put in the same bag as a product of an experienced studio. Either way, I feel many of the game’s faults came from inadequate writing. It wants to say a lot but by the end it doesn’t much at all. If all the logical and realistic inconsistencies can be ignored. The game’s overall story isn’t that bad. Even thought they have failed to explore most of the themes, there are still some heartwarming moments.

Honestly I can say this game has some good. Like the fact, if you walk through a room once, the next time you click on the door, it will just take you to the other side instead of having to walk over. Also you can open a map and teleport to any location that you have previously been to and characters don’t repeat the same lines every time you meet them. These are some really nice features, such a pity they find themselves in a game like this one.

It’s a walking simulator with no soul, a puzzle game with no challenge. If you want to spend hours wandering an empty island trying to piece together a story that honestly should have been a movie or a short film, then sure, The End of the Sun might scratch that itch. But for me, this is a hard pass.

Overall, Goosebumps Terror in Little Creek was pretty lackluster. Looking at the devs and publishers of the game, it kind of checks out that this game turned out this way. The developers PHL Collective and the publisher GameMill Entertainment are known for putting out low quality licensed kids games. Not to mention the pricing for Goosebumps, in my opinion, is not worth $40 USD for how short and barebones the experience was. On top of that, the game also has a $15 USD DLC pack that seems to only provide cosmetics, a 3D model viewer, and a concept art viewer. I can only recommend getting this game on a heavily discounted sale if you’re interested. Otherwise, I wouldn’t recommend this game, even if you wanted to buy it for your kids.

In short, its attempt to be a party game is poorly executed as it sneers at the things that make party games fun: quick games, easy to understand, no cumbersome mechanics, a well-known cast, and creative worlds. Instead, Dokapon Kingdom Connect misses the mark in my opinion on pretty much all of these, too caught up in its attempt to be an RPG.

Things move extremely slow and while we have the ability to bump things up to three times the normal speed, there was nothing that really encouraged me to take those next steps. Homeseek is fun when you are locked into the gameplay loops but the moment you hit that first bump in the road in regards to waiting on something, the flaws start to come out. This is a major make or break moment for those who are on the fence here and nothing is really done to persuade you into continuing the game.

Nitro kid does a wonderful job of standing out from other rouge-likes but some of the glaring issues prevent it from being a strong contender against other titles such as The darkest Dungeon and one of the more recent popular titles, Hades. Little Big Adventure- Twinsen’s Quest is a profoundly disappointing evolution of the cult classic. Bizarre story tone changes, god awful combat and platforming and poor visuals seal this version as a cheap imitator. Whilst the strong musical score remains, and sound design across the board is solid, it’s not enough to change my opinion that this was just made for a quick buck. This one should have stayed in the 90’s.

Witch Strandings is a game that really wanted to emphasize the importance of connections as well as nurturing the relationships between characters, but the control scheme made it hard for me to really get into it. While there were story details to be found around the world, it felt like there wasn’t enough guidance to help a player get the ball rolling. I understand that exploration should be the driving force but something like this could really use a guiding hand for the first few minutes outside of the tutorial to help bring the player along.

In summary, “Neptunia Game Maker” is a game that had a lot of potential but fails to deliver on almost every front. The story is disjointed and quite difficult to follow with how many characters get introduced every second. The design is uninspired which doesn’t utilise the art style and the combat is lacklustre. Features like the bike and game development mechanics feel half-baked and add little to the overall experience. I cannot recommend this game to anyone as even to experience the story the player would be forced to drag themselves through the combat encounters. In my opinion “Neptunia Game Maker” should have taken some tips form its own game making mechanics.

Project Motor Racing is not a good game. The frustrating vehicle gameplay, the violent A.I that comes to make your life a living hell and the fact the game punishes you for its own mistakes, really bring this game down. It isn’t fun to play and the online mode is evident that a lot of people don’t care about this game. Despite having nice looking cars, tracks based off of iconic locations and a career mode that does offer lots of freedom, it doesn’t make up for the poor gameplay. With a storyline clocking in at three hours, Neptunia Riders VS Dogoos succeeds in embodying more elements of a larger game’s series of side quests than it does a worthwhile spinoff. While there is oftentimes a critical inconsistency in accounting for a price when reviewing a product, this title makes such ignorance impossible. Complaints that could usually be considered minor hiccups, such as fluctuating graphical fidelity, a lack of variety in content, and performance issues, instead resemble ugly burps that reflect a blatant disregard for the audience willing to spend forty US dollars on a series that has earned their trust. To that crowd, shining moments of straightforward gameplay and satisfying voice acting do exist between these outbursts, making it apparent that there are components worth salvaging here. For a deep sale, perhaps the most devout fans of the Neptunia series will find the silver lining of this underwhelming spinoff worth enduring. For me, there is no fuel left in this ride.

Overall, the fridge is red seems like a title that would hit it off well for those who are heavily invested in niche horror experiences but for those who are like myself, the intro did not do enough to get me hooked enough to fully understand what the story was behind the demonic red refrigerator. There were hints of a more coherent story throughout the game but since that interest was dashed on the rocks at the start, it was hard to want to piece everything together. I do not recommend buying Blood of Mehran. They’re asking £21 for this; you can get a modern Assassin’s Creed or Dad of Boy for cheaper than that. I could barely stomach 2 hours and in that time I learned all I needed to know. It’s not even bad in way that’s entertaining or campy, it’s just mediocre at its core, kinda nostalgic in a weird way, like a clumsy PS2 game that’s been given a fan made texture mod. Both the gameplay and storytelling are beyond archaic and it has no place to stand in an industry with increasingly high standards. With its tedious gameplay, uninspired storytelling, and lack of innovation, it’s difficult to find redeeming qualities in this title. For those seeking a truly engaging gaming experience, Clash 2 falls short of the mark.

If you’re looking for a rich and relaxing fishing sim experience, then there are plenty out there, but this isn’t it. Whether it’s the shop that looks like a micro-transaction hellscape (but isn’t), the confusing control scheme, or the general lack of direction, I can’t wrap my head around the choices that were made with this project. This unfortunately leads me to think it was simply a cheap soulless port, made to slurp up a few extra bucks before sinking back to the bottom of the riverbed. Yet apparently, this is a common occurrence for the folks over at Ultimate Games, so perhaps I shouldn’t be so surprised. Save yourself time and money, and support the indie devs out there who put their heart and soul into their projects, and for a lower price too! Keep on casting that line folks, there are plenty more fish in the sea.

Whether it’s overly punishing hitboxes or bland level design, Balloony struggles to get its feet off the ground. There’s so much inspiration out there when it comes to 2D platformers, and yet it feels as though almost none of the things that made those games great made it into this title. If you’re looking for an engaging experience then you’d better look elsewhere, because this game has gone down like a lead balloon.

My time spent with holy Stick was not one that I can say I enjoyed due to the high focus on multiplayer and while you can match up with bots, there is no real challenge except learning how to actually play the game. The concept of hand-drawn maps in the spaces of a notebook is really interesting but unfortunately any good will this game earns is only dampened by a bad experience moments later.

This game doesn’t have absolutely nothing going for it. It has many fascinating survival elements mixed with a unique story. While I wouldn’t say that this game is complete in its current state, if you enjoy these types of survival games or the previous game, Farmers Life, then possibly give this game a go if you’re interested. Sadly, I can say that otherwise, it may be best to give this experience a pass, at least until they fix the nonfunctional aspects.

The game itself is fun if players can overlook the bugs and issues. I believe the game is still patchable if the developer team still polishing the game. Thus, the game is still a recommended piece for souls-like lovers to give a try.

Ario is a colourful 2.5D adventure title. However, much of its gameplay is lacklustre and the story is just as bland. Disappointingly, I was expecting much more, but it didn't deliver. As such, there are better alternatives available.

Overall, I wanted to like this game. I could see the potential and the vision for what the developers were going for. There are plenty of great ideas in this game. However, poor execution of those ideas and confusing design elements hold this game back for me. I hope the developers can learn from this criticism to improve their craft in their future titles.

If you were wondering I do not recommend this game, it’s dull, repetitive and lacks any excitement, if you’re here for the women! Go right ahead and get it, but if you want an actual good game look elsewhere as this game provided me more lows than highs. I give it a 3/10 the artstyle and performance make it at least a game that works but the lack of actual greatness outside of it makes it a game that disappoints.

The story is very simple and without twist, it does not make you curious about it and it is short. The gameplay is very repetitive and you only solve repetitive puzzles and sometimes you encounter sister Madeline. The map design is great and its shortcuts will surprise you. Visually, it is good and has stable resolution and performance. The sound design is not good and you can’t tell where Sister Madeline is walking by the sound of her footsteps.

My conclusion for Sherwood Extreme is that it is a grand concept but much less a game. The combat is fluid, the enemies, albeit easy, are very fun to fight and the map design for the very little there was, was very fun to navigate. In Short, this labour of love is in need of more time in the oven of Love!

It’s hard to like something that combined many elements of things you don’t like, but when that happens and you fail those multiple elements, it just makes the experience so much worse. I give the game a 4.5/10. It’s got some greatness in atmosphere and its performance is rock solid. This seems like a game that would be nice, but there is tons of ironing out to do before moving on to the next project.

I cannot stress enough how unenjoyable this experience was due to the inability to find a match to play online and with a simple feature such as A.I opponents missing, this is a game that comes hard to recommend. Hopefully down the road, the devs are able to implement a way to enjoy what is on offer here. The game has a solid foundation and the potential to be enjoyable but it is hard to see that potential when you are staring at a screen that tells you no matches can be found on multiple occasions.

Mission: Rift Seeker is a game that has launched in early access. The game has solid fundamentals and is a fun colony simulation game. The game teaches you how to start your base and gives you a solid foundation with room to experiment and learn how to let your seekers thrive. However, for a game that revolves around sending your minions to do things, I wish I had more control over my seekers. I also wish things in the game were more clear about how they worked. For those looking for a colony simulation game, this is one to keep track of, as it’s still in early access. In its current state, it is a game that I can’t recommend at the moment.
