Sep 10, 2025Serving as an homage to the good old Metal Gear Solid, Spy Drops offers a great retro experience. Unfortunately it suffers from a lot of issues ranging from repetitiveness, poor camera, to very unintuitive controls.

Aug 4, 2025Despite being a pretty ambitious undertaking and a handful of decent ideas, Spy Drops fails to make the kill.

Aug 4, 2025Spy Drops is a game with a novel concept but bad execution. The idea of smaller missions for a bite-sized stealth experience is neat, and the game mostly nails the graphical aesthetic of a top-tier game from the original PlayStation's timeline. Everything else, especially the stealth mechanics, are so poorly done that the whole experience feels like an absolute chore to get through. Unless you're the forgiving type who's absolutely craving any kind of stealth experience, don't bother with Spy Drops unless it massively overhauls everything with patches.

Aug 11, 2025For everything that I’ve said about Spy Drops, some and hopefully all the negatives I’ve had with the game will be fixed. At the time of me making this review, the developers, Rainy Night Creations, announced that they will be replacing the AI voices with actual voice acting. Rainy Night Creations is a small dev team, but hopefully they can deliver on that promise and work on the other issues with the game as well.

Jul 31, 2025Spy Drops desperately wants to be an authentic homage to the original Metal Gear Solid, but fails in almost every aspect. Riddled with issues, from the camera, to the AI, to the level-breaking glitches, there's simply little redeeming quality to this low-effort copy. Just do another re-run with Solid Snake himself and save yourself the pain of this.

Aug 15, 2025It’s just a poorly made imitation of a PS1-era classic, and you’d be better off going back and playing Metal Gear Solid than wasting time with this garbage.
