With graphics that will make other games in the franchise jealous, New Pokémon Snap succeeds in following the line of successful spin-offs. More than a revival of the episode released on N64, this new opus is a breath of fresh air offering us a colorful journey in a new region. Let's admit it, New Pokémon Snap has everything to please and has very few flaws that could spoil its potential, even if its lifespan remains a bit short.- MGG

MotoGP 21 is not bad, but we have the impression to go backwards. It certainly brings some additional elements like the management of the temperature of the brakes or new penalties of exit of track, as well as all the riders and circuits of the championship, but it remains quite bland. It's still a reference in motorcycle racing simulation, but it's lacking. And the graphics haven't really evolved. Milestone even emoved the history mode without offering anything else instead. An opus which, despite its qualities, seems a bit too lazy. This annual upgrade is clearly dispensable.- MGG

Nier Replicant is one of those games that we will forgive a lot of things for what it manages to bring us. Yoko Taro's title has that special "aura" that many gamers are looking for, something that makes it unique and unforgettable despite its flaws. With this remake, ToyLogic does not distort the original work in any way and even dusts off its gameplay with talent: if you have never dived into the world of Nier, this is clearly the best entry point available to date.- MGG

Soulstorm offers a good rewriting of Abe's Exodus with updated graphics and gamepaly. For sure, it's a common die and retry game, but the variety of situations proposed is modernizing this old concept. With an IA sometimes full of bugs, the title is also a bit repetitive, but we still get attached to the destiny of this oppressed people superbly highlighted. Soulstorm is nevertheless an addictive experience if you accept its proposition.- MGG

Mixing the well-known mechanics of Destiny with a Gears of War-like gameplay, Outriders is a good game. But, even if we can get bored very quickly of its gameplay, the class and character progression systems compensate a little, by inviting us to make our character always more powerful. Even if it doesn't revolutionize the looter shooter genre, Outriders has a few arguments capable of convincing those used to TPS.- MGG

For a very affordable price, Days of Heroes: D-Day offers you to relive the last moments of World War II in many different situations and from different angles. If only technically it was more accomplished, it could really be a good title. The detailed and differentiated handling of the weapons, as well as the aiming or even the bag , as long as it doesn't get in the way, are indeed quite nice. And the minimalist graphic style proves to be successful, even if we regret that the two sides are difficult to distinguish. Unfortunately, you have to put up with the bugs and shaky handling, as well as the scripted missions with AI-less opponents, which is a shame.- MGG

Let's not be afraid to say that It Takes Two is one of the best cooperative games available: the new Hazelight hits the nail on the head every time, with numerous, varied and always very inventive situations. The pace is so fast that not half an hour goes by without the title integrating a new mechanic or propelling you into a new environment, for a constantly renewed gameplay pleasure. Not to spoil anything, the sublime art direction and the endearing duo formed by Cody and May sweep away its few flaws, which are more of a quibble than anything else. A killer-app, that we warmly recommend to you.- MGG

A year ago Animal Crossing: New Horizons was released during the lockdown. This March 26, Story of Seasons: Pioneers of Olive Town will be released on Nintendo Switch, and it may be the next game for anyone looking for a quiet, cute game. This new Story of Seasons game has all the goodies of a farm game and it's clearly hard to stop playing once you start the adventure. Story of Seasons is simply an addictive game, with deep gameplay and tons of things to do outside the farm: events, fishing, cooking, mining, decorating... All that's left to do is choose your suitor for the wedding between the irresistible Emilio, Jack, Reina or Blaire!- MGG

Monster Hunter Rise takes the license to new heights with better-than-ever gameplay, accompanied by great graphics and art direction for the Switch. It's a blast to explore the map on a mount, perform aerial maneuvers, and hunt large monsters alone or in groups. This would be a near perfect game if the content followed, having to wait for updates to explore high level content will indeed not be to everyone's taste. So patience may be required.- MGG

Milestone is bringing improvements and more content to its supercross game, but it's not sure that this will be enough to satisfy fans. As for the newcomers, they should not be discouraged by the title's demands. The career mode has been effectively revised, but remains rather classic like all the other activities offered. However, the track editor is quite convincing. Anyway, the sensations are there, it's a pity that the graphics are still from another era.- MGG

At first glance, Harvest Moon: One World isn't very attractive graphically, but it's still a good farm game. All the features you'd expect are there and even if the landscapes are still very poor, the game offers a good storyline with several regions to explore, seasonal events and some nice improvements like teleportation. This new Harvest Moon game will certainly delight the franchise's lovers, but remains a light version of what we could expect in 2021.- MGG

Bravely Default 2 isn't a bad game but, unfortunately, it never goes beyond the stage of a nice old-fashioned turn-by-turn experience and the game is pretty dated in many ways. The Brave and Default systems are still doing the job, while the Asterisks ensure the diversity of builds by allowing players to experiment to the fullest. But here we are, after this successful déjà vu background, there isn't much left for this second canonical episode. The game has a lot of difficulties to work correctly, the artistic direction, except the villages, leaves to be desired and the annexed content is of a deep boredom. As for the scenario, it's almost the same thing as BD1: those who made it know what we are talking about.- MGG

Faithful to its ancestors, Ghosts 'n Goblins Resurrection is a difficult and intense game that will require you to die many times in order to progress. Hordes of traps and ruthless enemies will ask you each time to find and then apply a viable strategy to make your way to the next level. All of this combined with the character's unique, even dated, handling makes it a game for an audience who knows what they're getting into. Even though the magic system, checkpoints and cooperative mode make the title more accessible than its predecessors, it still requires a great deal of patience and perseverance.- MGG

Almost too easy! With this second release of the WiiU success, Nintendo will once again take over the free time of millions of players thanks to Mario. This episode is well worth the trip: game life, fun to play, crazy level design and multiplayer (local or online)... It has absolutely all the ingredients of a pure platform game, user-friendly and devilishly fun. Already a must-have, Super Mario 3D World added a 6-hour extension with a new world to explore in the company of Bowser Jr. with an original structure and full of new concepts.- MGG

Persona 5 Strikers is a successful crossover, bringing a true sequel to iconic JRPG. Among other things, it'll allow fans to learn more about the high school band led by the Trickster. With Strikers, Omega Force delivers: it's a demanding title, particularly enjoyable and complete enough to take you on a road-trip for countless hours.- MGG

Little Nightmares II honors its predecessor by taking up the basic concepts convincingly, while bringing some new features — such as NPCs helping you and melee combat. Even if the controllability isn't flawless and some technical imperfections remain, this doesn't take away from the high level of the game's artistic direction. The soundtrack alone manage to create a gloomy and uncomfortable atmosphere, all within a wide variety of environments — and some iconic enemies.- MGG

Unsurprisingly, Nioh 1 and 2 PS5 remaster is more of a Next-Gen patch. The result isn't amazingly beautiful, but it's responsive enough in 4K that we can no longer blame frame drops for our numerous deaths. If you haven't tested the license yet and are looking for a challenge, this is a good opportunity.- MGG

Werewolf: The Apocalypse - Earthblood is not devoid of charm, thanks to its rich universe and the possibility to switch from infiltration to combat with the three different forms. It could have been a good game with a further developed RPG aspect, less repetitions, and a more inspired story. Technically speaking, the graphics and animations — including lip-sync — as well as the AI feel outdated for a recent game. As a result, Werewolf is below average, and that's a shame.- MGG

Destruction AllStars has many strong points to offer. Mainstream and approachable, the directing is quite good and the gameplay quick to learn — although it takes time to be truly mastered. We had a lot of fun throwing out violent bumper blows and jumping on platforms to change vehicles, as well as unleashing the powers of the many heroes available. However, it's hard to predict whether it will be successful in the long run, and the PS5's exclusivity and high purchase price may prevent it from reaching a large audience.- MGG

Without being a graphical revolution, Control Ultimate Edition's Next Gen patch freshens up the game a bit and gives good reasons to discover Jesse's paranormal adventures on PS5 or Xbox Series. The quality of life and immersion improvements are welcome, but the focus should have been more on solving some of the original game technical problems.- MGG

Similarly to its predecessor, the only thing Ys is missing is a budget in line with current standards. Many might be repelled by the aged graphics and the crude direction, but those who manage to get past that will find the very best of old-school A-RPG. Thanks to explosive fights, very generous content and heroes whose powers give a good boost to the exploration, Ys is a must-have for fans of modest but lovingly made Japanese productions.- MGG

With The Medium, Bloober Team delivers a sordid story — though not always easy to pin down. Despite the sometimes ludicrous character animation, blurring effects not necessarily justified, and the presence of a few artifacts, the graphics are high quality and often well-inspired. The chases and the passages in the characters' psyche are quite memorable. If you don't mind games which are linear and focus on the narrative more than the action, you'll have a great time with The Medium — and its amazing OST.- MGG

Hitman 3 brings the World of Assassination trilogy to its climax thanks, among other things, to more gameplay options. If we would have appreciated more polished cinematics, the in-game graphics meet the expectations and very few bugs are to be deplored. As for the crowd management, it still amazes us, despite the inevitable routines of the NPCs. As for the sandbox aspect, it remains one of the strong points of the title, which will delight the fans eager to experience the numerous possibilities offered.- MGG

Shady Part of Me has captivated us with its stunning artistic direction and its creativity. The puzzles are cleverly constructed and based on an efficient physics engine. The dual gameplay is used to its fullest potential and is constantly renewed with new ideas and elements that will challenge you without being overwhelming. In addition, the sublime soundtrack featuring Hannah Murray certainly won't disappoint.- MGG

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond marks a successful return of the license in virtual reality, but the transition to this new media still needs some work. If it clearly plays the realism card to offer us a show worthy of the biggest productions of the genre, it unfortunately does not always achieve its goals in terms of immersion. An improved optimization and some German dubbing would be more than welcome. In the meantime, the atmosphere is present, with quality graphics, many animations and an epic soundtrack. We also appreciated the classic but efficient multiplayer mode.- MGG

Without necessarily being the long-awaited messiah, Cyberpunk 2077 is a great science fiction work that's not afraid to shock or disturb. Its universe, atmosphere and story are fascinating and rich. It offers a great freedom of choice, both in the scenario and in the fights. Night City is a place like no other. However, it's a shame that after all these years of development, many elements still lack finishing touches, and that the gameplay is not as satisfying as one would have hoped. We had the unpleasant feeling that the game was released before it was really ready.- MGG

The title has many qualities, especially aesthetic. However, once the graphic slap is over, the various flaws of the game present themselves to the player. The sublime artistic direction and the worked out narration are extremely attractive, however, the slowness and repetitiveness of the game means that it will certainly not be appreciated by everyone. But for the player ready to take his time, Haven is a true meditation exercise because of its relaxing and minimalist side.- MGG

Empire of Sin is a rather seductive mix of turn-based strategy inspired by XCOM and Prohibition-era thug management games. The game experience is varied enough and the city of Chicago lively enough for the player to have a good 20 hours of fun, but don't expect to invest much more in it as the situations you will face during the fights, in the management of your empire and in the relationships with other gangs will repeat themselves quite quickly, giving the feeling that you've gone around pretty quickly and not really making you want to restart a game after reaching the end credits.- MGG

One of the biggest surprises of this final part of the year. Immortals: Fenyx Rising is fun, beautiful, with lots of things to do and plenty of battles to fight. It may get a bit repetitive over the hours, but still worth it. And you'll laugh a lot with Zeus and Prometheus.- MGG
