With The Medium, Bloober Team delivers a sordid story — though not always easy to pin down. Despite the sometimes ludicrous character animation, blurring effects not necessarily justified, and the presence of a few artifacts, the graphics are high quality and often well-inspired. The chases and the passages in the characters' psyche are quite memorable. If you don't mind games which are linear and focus on the narrative more than the action, you'll have a great time with The Medium — and its amazing OST.- MGG

Hitman 3 brings the World of Assassination trilogy to its climax thanks, among other things, to more gameplay options. If we would have appreciated more polished cinematics, the in-game graphics meet the expectations and very few bugs are to be deplored. As for the crowd management, it still amazes us, despite the inevitable routines of the NPCs. As for the sandbox aspect, it remains one of the strong points of the title, which will delight the fans eager to experience the numerous possibilities offered.- MGG

Football Manager on Xbox is an acceptable alternative if we are reluctant to use our PC as a platform to play. However, control lapses, hindering the experience and making it less enjoyable. The hours of browsing through the menus that we loved become a process that we try to avoid as much as possible.- MGG

Shady Part of Me has captivated us with its stunning artistic direction and its creativity. The puzzles are cleverly constructed and based on an efficient physics engine. The dual gameplay is used to its fullest potential and is constantly renewed with new ideas and elements that will challenge you without being overwhelming. In addition, the sublime soundtrack featuring Hannah Murray certainly won't disappoint.- MGG

Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond marks a successful return of the license in virtual reality, but the transition to this new media still needs some work. If it clearly plays the realism card to offer us a show worthy of the biggest productions of the genre, it unfortunately does not always achieve its goals in terms of immersion. An improved optimization and some German dubbing would be more than welcome. In the meantime, the atmosphere is present, with quality graphics, many animations and an epic soundtrack. We also appreciated the classic but efficient multiplayer mode.- MGG

Without necessarily being the long-awaited messiah, Cyberpunk 2077 is a great science fiction work that's not afraid to shock or disturb. Its universe, atmosphere and story are fascinating and rich. It offers a great freedom of choice, both in the scenario and in the fights. Night City is a place like no other. However, it's a shame that after all these years of development, many elements still lack finishing touches, and that the gameplay is not as satisfying as one would have hoped. We had the unpleasant feeling that the game was released before it was really ready.- MGG

The title has many qualities, especially aesthetic. However, once the graphic slap is over, the various flaws of the game present themselves to the player. The sublime artistic direction and the worked out narration are extremely attractive, however, the slowness and repetitiveness of the game means that it will certainly not be appreciated by everyone. But for the player ready to take his time, Haven is a true meditation exercise because of its relaxing and minimalist side.- MGG

Empire of Sin is a rather seductive mix of turn-based strategy inspired by XCOM and Prohibition-era thug management games. The game experience is varied enough and the city of Chicago lively enough for the player to have a good 20 hours of fun, but don't expect to invest much more in it as the situations you will face during the fights, in the management of your empire and in the relationships with other gangs will repeat themselves quite quickly, giving the feeling that you've gone around pretty quickly and not really making you want to restart a game after reaching the end credits.- MGG

One of the biggest surprises of this final part of the year. Immortals: Fenyx Rising is fun, beautiful, with lots of things to do and plenty of battles to fight. It may get a bit repetitive over the hours, but still worth it. And you'll laugh a lot with Zeus and Prometheus.- MGG

While the gameplay and graphics of Immortals Fenyx Rising aren't really innovative, Ubisoft's new franchise brings a fresh new twist to the open-world genre. And with good reason: everything is simplified in the right way to appeal to a very wide audience, and the story is told with a great deal of humor. A perfect mix that makes the adventure very addictive and could surprise you for the end of the year 2020.- MGG

The campaign keeps the player on the edge of his seat, to the point where you want to know more and hope to see a sequel to this story. The mechanics brought by the Story Mode, the dialogue choice and the impression of being protagonist give a real boost to the campaign, even if it represents only five to seven hours of play. The new multiplayer modes are great and bring a new dynamic, but the operators' movements limit our experience on these big maps. We're waiting for Season 1 of Black Ops Cold War to bring a lot more content and, most importantly, to see the integration of Warzone. The Zombie mode also brings a nice touch, with new mechanics that are great fun, except for the lack of cinematics.- MGG

The only big new game for the Nintendo Switch this end of year 2020, Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is a little disappointing. As enjoyable as any self-respecting musou, Omega Force's title is technically flawed, limited in content and largely under-exploited story-wise. We may have expected too much, but this new title in the universe of Zelda Breath of the Wild was meant to cover an important part of the story, and it seems botched on many points.- MGG

Godfall is a visual success, and it has good fights, as well as countless options to create a knight of your own to meet the high level challenges. Unfortunately, it also did way too much in some areas, overloading the controls and equipment options, while completely forgetting to offer differences between armor classes. The content is lacking, with a limited universe and activities that are excessively repetitive. In the end, we always find ourselves doing the same thing over and over again.- MGG

Demon's Souls was eagerly awaited for this PlayStation 5 launch and we are not disappointed, as the game has clearly already established itself as a major title in the PlayStation catalog. This next-gen version takes up all the basics of its first release and revisits the graphics and the optimization without adding new content. It is a stunning remake. We quickly forgot the somewhat rigid mechanics of the genre and let ourselves be carried away by the adventure. The Bluepoint teams have simply brought back to life a masterpiece that didn't have the success it deserved a decade ago.- MGG

In addition to clearing up a few gray areas, Kingdom Hearts: Melody of Memory provides a good overall summary of the entire series in an entertaining way with their very effective rhythm game. The Theatrhythm gameplay mechanics have been cleverly adapted to the 3D transition, and the excellent soundtrack will surely seduce music fans. However, we regret a taste of déjà vu regarding the overuse of the series' scenery and the readability sometimes confusing. Finally, the new story, far too light, does not justify such a high price.- MGG

Assassin's Creed Valhalla succeeds in improving the light-RPG formula initiated by Origins, by correcting some of the excesses spotted on Odyssey: with an upgraded exploration, a less generous loot and fights that go more to the essentials, Ubisoft Montreal is clearly on the right track. However, despite all their efforts to make the progression more digestible and enjoyable, many bugs have ruined the experience. Too bad, especially since in this Xbox Series X version, the game is absolutely magnificent and manages to hold its 60 frames per second in (almost) all circumstances.- MGG

Inspired by Pixar, Bugsnax offers us a gameplay that is both strange and surprising and that could well touch any generation of players. Made for the general public, the game developed by the studio behind Octodad is colorful in many ways. Between quirky humor and creatures to collect (and to eat), Bugsnax remains above all an adventure game with narration and quests to follow. It will not be enough to just put your brain down but also to think about the different "puzzles" that will be offered to you to capture the bugs half food half insect. That said, even though Bugsnax offers a real mix of quests, adventure and collection, it could be quite confusing and not everyone will like it. One thing's for sure: the game is original.- MGG

DiRT 5 has decided to go straight for the arcade gameplay and makes no secret of it. It's fun at every level, and even if it's not to everyone's taste, it works quite well. If the title proves to be rather unoriginal, weirdly unbalanced on several levels and a little too easy, the variety of environments and types of races, combined with a beautifully dynamic weather and a quality soundtrack, make us forgive its flaws.- MGG

Astro's Playroom is a game that can be experienced with a lot of simplicity and without any particular expectations. It will surprise you during the few hours of gameplay it offers, and will allow you to learn more about the generations of PlayStation consoles as well as the DualSense controller's features. This is a great surprise from the creative and generous ASOBI development team and is a great way to start a long adventure with the next generation of PS5 games!- MGG

The developers from Insomniac Games have successfully entering the next-gen era and are rewarding us with a second high quality instalment for their Spider-Man license. Miles Morales has completely seduced us in spite of its rather non-innovative side content, simply because the magic of the superhero blockbuster still works very well, and keep on carrying us away without ever getting boring. On the performance side, the PS5 already shows us a taste of what it will be able to do through a game very well polished. Don't miss out on Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales.- MGG

Yakuza Like a Dragon is a success on almost every level: its turn-by-turn fighting system manages to hook the player while enhancing the experience of die-hard fans. In addition, the very solid storyline takes us once again to a new neighborhood for a total change of scenery. However, we would have liked Yakuza 7 to strengthen its game by offering more challenges for those who are already familiar with the Japanese role-playing genre. To do so, we will have to rely on a DLC pack including a hard mode upon release: a particularly clumsy decision from our point of view.- MGG

Little Hope uses the same concepts as Man of Medan and tries to improve them by providing a welcome warning before the QTEs or by trying to smooth out the sequences which, unfortunately, still suffer from some slowness. The story is quite good and effectively mixes three eras, but we will probably have to redo the game several times to fully understand it. Unfortunately, the Curator's Cut that seduced us in Man of Medan is unfortunately no longer on the menu. Nevertheless, we spend a "pleasant" moment in the middle of repulsive creatures and we now await the third episode with curiosity.- MGG

Pikmin 3 Deluxe is a wonderful port. The game remains just as enjoyable as it was at the time and will surely take a new generation of players on a journey. More than an exploration game, it's a real ode to discovery, and its simplicity will attract even the most casual player. It's a shame that some of the main flaws of the original game remain, but they don't spoil the gaming experience, which remains relaxing and enjoyable.- MGG

Watch Dogs Legion had a catchy concept, but everything is far too superficial, which undermines all the gameplay and the interest of the game. The combination of a questionable balance, universal hacking, the lack of difficulty and overly versatile recruits results in a functional but tasteless gameplay. The generic story takes itself way too seriously while making us betray its message is easily forgettable. The basics are present, and there's still stuff to do that'll keep you busy for a while. You might even be able to have fun by thinking outside the box, but it's probably not worth the detour.- MGG

New features, new creatures and an adventure that deserves your time as much as the original Pokémon games campaign. A much better expansion than The Isle of Armor, but if you consider both expansion as a single offer it could be a great new game that deserves to be played.- MGG

Amnesia: Rebirth is intended for players who want to take part in an old-fashioned horror adventure, with all its quaint and disorienting features. But behind these aspects — which can be discouraging for some — lies a truly mastered adventure game with an exotic and terrifying atmosphere that depicts a deeply human and intimate story.- MGG

Although it takes up many of the mechanics of the 3rd episode, Trails of Cold Steel IV is unfortunately unable to rise to its level. The lengths in the narration and the direction break the rhythm and we fail to find the epic nature from the previous title. Despite the fan service and the diversity are not enough to erase the lack of novelty and risk-taking. Nevertheless, the very effective conclusion and the clever gameplay will surely seduce J-RPG addicts. The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel has been able to offer us a great saga through these 4 episodes that deserve more attention.- MGG

The idea is absolutely brilliant and brings to life the childhood games of many players. If the execution lacks a little something to make the experience unforgettable, we must still praise the ingenuity of this new use of the Nintendo Switch. Perfect to gather the family around the elaboration of the craziest possible circuit, MKL struggles to convince on the long run. The limitations of the concept are quick to show.- MGG

Scourgebringer is a rogue-lite based primarily on combat and skill. Fighting being the essence of the game, you have to be patient and diligent in the confrontations, in order to develop your skill to face the real challenges. The wide range of moves and the very satisfying fights make the runs enjoyable. However, because of the lack of depth in the mechanics, the game runs out of steam after only a few hours of play. Nevertheless, it remains a good pick for those who expect a rogue-lite to deliver smooth, frenetic and rewarding fights.- MGG

By offering a prequel to his horror-psychological game, Chris Darril has the merit of bringing us a little more precision on the story, while putting a final touch to Rosemary Reed's adventures. It's a pity that the production of the title isn't up to the task and that the gameplay is so tedious — not to mention the inconsistency of the game. Additionally, the numerous bugs sure don't help. There were ideas, but unfortunately, they were not successfully implemented.- MGG
