With its controls much more suited to the PC than to consoles, Gord is not without flaws in terms of ergonomics and readability, but it largely makes up for it with its tortured atmosphere at will. Survival in a dark fantasy world populated by nightmares is a long succession of tests and crucial choices, especially when madness awaits our units with each new incursion into darkness. Too bad that the strategic stakes impose permanent vigilance on the management side because this is done a little to the detriment of exploration and adventure.

Despite the incendiary feedback from some of the fans, we have to admit that we had a pretty good time with Diablo Immortal. Far from being original, the Blizzard/NetEase Hack'n Slash is pleasant to handle with touch or pad. In addition, the main adventure is fun to navigate, especially for newcomers. However, the post-level 30 progression based on level-locked missions is disconcerting, even if this mechanism would be used by other free-to-play. It is especially the excessive monetization, both ubiquitous and obscure, which greatly moderates our enthusiasm, although usual for a NetEase game. Nevertheless, Diablo Immortal remains fun for casual players who don't aim to become unbeatable warriors in PvP. Passed a course, the attractive adventure turns into a hardcore F2P MMO nightmare. Ultimately, these are two very different types of players who are invited to meet on the lands of Sanctuary. For better (action-RPG on mobile) and for worse (for monetization).

Shattered Space will certainly revive Starfield for those who fell for the Premium Edition, but it won't convince others to spend 30 euros to give it another chance. Building on various strengths of the base title, such as the developed lore and captivating missions, the expansion of Bethesda's software turns its back on other of its pillars. This would not have been a problem if Va'ruun'kai, the only new planet in this DLC, had offered something truly different/innovative/surprising... which is not the case. Short on new content, Shattered Space is content with fast-paced faction quests with multiple choices, which unfortunately do not breathe the wind of renewal that we would have liked after a year of waiting. As such, not everything that is handmade is necessarily in exquisite taste.

If not the ultimate pirate game, Skull and Bones is a good naval battle game that has arguments to make you want to get involved. So no, here, no third-person action phases: the adventure takes place almost exclusively on the waves, and once the element of surprise has passed, the qualities of Ubisoft's service game are revealed. The seven seas of the Indian Ocean are the subject of a solid atmosphere and technique, and the battles on the open sea are a real success. So, you may be struggling to get to the endgame, due to a fairly redundant progression, but believe us, the price is worth it. In short, a good surprise, far from the shipwreck that some saw on the horizon.

Naruto x Boruto Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections is ultimate in name only. While the title bills itself as the most comprehensive release in the series, that is only true for its impressive cast of over 130 fighters. On the other hand, as for its story mode... between a minimally regressive setting, absent major boss fights and above all an original story that is not very interesting, there is reason to be frankly disappointed. Ultimately, only fans of the franchise determined to play online will find what they are looking for by taking advantage of the generous roster and the gameplay that is still as effective despite the years. For others, we advise you to turn to the first four episodes, which are available on all platforms and often at a low price, to better enjoy the story of Naruto.

With its endearing characters and effective humor, Guardians of the Galaxy is one of the pleasant surprises of the end of the year, which is obviously aimed at a very large audience. Behind this careful writing, we feel a deep love on the part of the developers of Eidos Montreal for its marginalized space. And if the adventure is not as epic as we hoped, the journey is nonetheless pleasant with its moments of complicity and the many choices offered which reinforce the player's involvement. A truly attractive journey, in particular thanks to an efficient and fluid combat system which nevertheless shows its limits at the end of the game and against the bosses. Finally, it is more on its visual part that the title can divide. If we find on the one hand original environments and neat character models, we also note the presence of less convincing facial animations in places and sometimes less fine landscapes. It is nonetheless a gripping adventure alongside the galaxy's greatest magnificent losers that has plenty to please MCU fans.

WitchSpring3 Re: Fine successfully enters the Nintendo machine. First, thanks to the visual and sound improvements made, which make the title a console game in its own right. Then thanks to the design of this opus, initially made for mobiles, which lends itself very well to the Switch. It allows you to get started both in short sessions and in parts of a longer duration, which is particularly suitable for those who take advantage of the nomadic aspect of the console to play as soon as they have a small niche. That said, the fault register is an optimization that lacks finishing, slowdowns and jerks follow us throughout the adventure. Nothing terribly off-putting though, WitchSpring3 is nonetheless a fun title to run through, with a combat system of unexpected depth and a story that holds up. Remains a fairly repetitive aspect which, if it can satisfy the followers of leveling up and crafting of objects, can put off the others.

There was reason to be happy about the return of Test Drive Unlimited: offering a gigantic map based on the faithful reproduction of Hong Kong Island and always with this immersive aspect specific to the series, Solar Crown had good arguments to seduce. The bottom line is that the title relies on a repetitive and frustrating progression that almost never rewards the player brave enough to invest hours of hard work; worse still, its alarming technical aspect simply prevents us from enjoying the gameplay and artistic direction that are nevertheless successful. Instead, we will have to make do with a mandatory internet connection that degrades the experience to the point of sometimes making it unplayable and indigestible; we will also have to put up with uneven graphics and a broken framerate, bugs galore and an unbalanced AI that pushes to recurring nervous breakdowns. On paper, with its single player, its multiplayer and its Zombie, Call of Duty Modern Warfare 3 presents itself as a fairly complete package, and that is somewhat what it is. Alongside a dispensable campaign and a few adjustments to review (notably on the killing time), we had fun with the two online sides of this episode. Although focusing above all on a nostalgic formula, with its cards and features of yesteryear, it is difficult not to fall in love, once again, with these still successful shooting sensations. The Zombie for its part, although copied and pasted on Warzone and DMZ, turns out to be pleasant and rather gripping... In the end, in this title which looks like a “big expansion”, there are quite a few qualities! But these will only appear if Call of Duty is not your bedside title. Despite the passing years, the three open-worlds still deliver unforgettable atmospheres and cities teeming with details. Unfortunately these cuts tarnish the gameplay to the point of regularly putting players at a disadvantage by hiding their opponents behind weak resolution and marked aliasing. Dying because you can't see your opponent in a hard-to-identify cluster of pixels is frustrating, and it happens a bit too much in this version of Apex. The adventure is repetitive, the gameplay uninspired, the narrative reduced to its simplest form, and the execution antiquated. Only the soundtrack and the clashes between lycanthropes save this once-mythical creature from complete sinking.

CloudPunk remains a unique game by its proposal to offer us a primarily narrative trip in a universe which incorporates all the great codes of Cyberpunk. But this Switch port is handicapped by technical defects which largely spoil the pleasure of discovering the city of Nivalis. Long loading times, ridiculous viewing distance, fluidity that is not always there ... Arriving on the Nintendo console, the title of Ion Lands greatly loses its splendor. A version to be avoided, quite simply.

With its tempting line-drawn comic universe, Foreclosed has shown itself to be rather attractive over the thumbnails and changes of viewing angles. But gameplay as narration are seen too limited, providing an experience too on the surface, which ends abruptly without managing to engage us sufficiently in its yet attractive universe. And Foreclosed's shimmering paw has too much trouble to compensate for the pallor of its action phases.

Poor production, so-so gameplay. No matter how you look at it, Castle of Heart is as dull as a generic sword sold by a random blacksmith.

Asterix & Obelix XXL Romastered is a timid dusting off of a 17-year-old game which, as it is, shows the weight of years. Archaic structure and game systems alongside quite a few visual bugs and significant framerate drops on consoles.

Redfall is a hodgepodge of influences that fails to excel in the many categories it aims for. Far from being uninteresting, in particular thanks to a quality level design and cogs that fit together rather well in its main systems, the title of Arkane Austin is disappointing compared to the pedigree of the studio. Unlike Prey, the game design is not brilliant or original, but in return, the app is surely the most accessible game imagined by Harvey Smith. This adventure to be lived in co-op, featuring vampires who have managed to hide the sun, is to be tested with friends thanks to the Game Pass before it is overshadowed by other outings. Bethesda's action game will divide, but not rule.

Fortunately, the sensations and effects of speed are good, the number of cars is correct and the environment pleasant, but it is difficult to appreciate them at their true value for all the pitfalls in question.

Fallout 76 could have been appealing. With its massive open-world, rewarding exploration and some interesting quests, it fails to be a good game because of too many game-design mistakes and technical issues.

Dakar 18 was a promissing title that might had over-promissed. Its numerous technical flaws and its poor physics are too much to overcome, despite some good ideas, such as its navigation system.

Even if its pretty straight-forward, Stranger Things 3: The Game is well-made and funny. It’s a well-balanced game focusing on the fans. The other ones may think it is repetitive and lacking strong characters.
