A year after Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, Black Ops 7 doesn't try to reinvent the wheel: it essentially builds its offering on the innovations of its predecessor, but it does it well, even very well. The wall jump is perfectly integrated and complements the gameplay, whose frenetic pace remains as exhilarating as ever. The cooperative campaign, for its part, fully delivers on its promise. For the rest, everything isn't perfect, and there's a lingering sense of recycling, even of incompleteness in some cases. This was undoubtedly the price to pay for bringing such generous content to life. A very solid game, but one that doesn't quite reach the pinnacle.

Compared to the first titles released since 2018, MES is more accessible, free, fast and clear in the composition of its game modes in addition to deepening its formula in the Solo career or the circuit editor. On the other hand, Milestone failed to make a leap forward from a graphical point of view, on the behavior of the AI, animations and collisions. Monster Energy Supercross isn't taking full advantage of the latest console generation just yet, and it's still going to take a while to feel a real sense of progression in the series.

However, the fighting game of Fair Play Labs exudes passion. We don't recommend it to everyone, as NASB is targeting a very specific niche. By mimicking the physics of Super Smash Bros. In addition to the few inaccuracies of the aim or the artificial intelligence of the allies making solo progression quite delicate, it is for the moment by its lack of content that Thunder Tier One sins. By relying on the community to enrich the game with new maps and missions, KRAFTON Inc risks seeing its game falling into oblivion, which would be regrettable given the pleasure that can be taken in completing missions in cooperation, which will require tactics, communication and planning to be carried out “properly”. A real potential that is not yet fully exploited and that fans of this singular genre might find a little too thin.

Even if we feel that the Moonscars formula is not at its full potential, the Black Mermaid studio delivers here a solid and often quite ingenious action-RPG. Between mixing genres with a touch of rogue-lite; two-speed difficulty; good sensations in combat and beautiful artistic direction, there is really something going on, controller in hand. It is finally two or three inaccuracies, in terms of balancing and finishing, which pull Moonscars down. Regardless, it's always a pleasure to restart a game. It's not NieR Automata who wants it and that's what Valkyrie Elysium reminds us. Inspired by Platinum Games, the Soleil studio delivers solid gameplay that offers a wide variety of combat approaches and sequences, even if they are sometimes messy. But beyond that, this new episode of the Valkyrie saga suffers from basic and repetitive levels, a technique that is far from flawless, as well as a scenario that is far too conventional to make the experience essential. Now it's up to you to see if you are able to turn a blind eye to these flaws to take advantage of a solid combat system.

After spending dozens of hours on Pokémon Legends: Z-A, I had high hopes for this DLC. First of all, I expected it to try new things, to iron out the annoying little details I had noticed while playing the main game, but Mega Dimension chose to follow a completely different recipe... The ingredients are (too often) the same, the frustrating structure and the redundancy of the DLC leave a bitter taste in the mouth, even if a few fleeting moments of brilliance manage to surprise us. So, yes, there are some good ideas, but the Mega Dimension DLC was too timid with the seasoning, resulting in a superficial and rather bland dish. It's disappointing, especially when we were dreaming of sinking our teeth into a donut bursting with flavor. We console ourselves by saying that this meal is filling and will keep us going for a while (thanks to the post-game content and side quests), but it's not good enough to earn a Michelin star.

With its simple and nervous gameplay, Aragami 2 offers a classic infiltration experience but of formidable efficiency. Add to this the many skills available to players, and the levels can be crossed with great ease for an exhilarating sensation. Unfortunately, the title suffers alongside a lack of variety which gives the feeling of always repeating the same levels over and over despite their large size and barely different objectives. We also regret the change of artistic direction for a result less captivating than in the first part and which reveals a fairly simple technique. At the risk of disappointing its detractors, Concord is a very good hero shooter that could very well overshadow the big names in the genre, if a community of players takes it that far. Firewalk's service game is based on solid arguments: great shooting sensations, 16 varied and perfectly oiled heroes, impeccable technique and artistic direction and even attractive tactical perspectives. As it stands, we just regret overly classic game modes as well as a universe that would have deserved a more important place within the experience... We would have imagined it more as free-to-play, this Quidditch Champions. Rather faithful to the universe in terms of artistic direction, the game at least has the merit of correctly rethinking the rules of the broom sport to make them much fairer on the screen. After several hours of intense gameplay, I was incredibly excited and ultimately frustrated by God of War: Sons of Sparta. The writing lacks punch, both in terms of the characters and the story. The gradual progression one expects from a Metroidvania is absent, as is the desire to explore every nook and cranny. The combat also suffers from fatal flaws. Our young Spartan doesn't chain attacks together as smoothly as his future self, and he's hampered by a truly awful AI. As it stands, it's impossible to recommend, whether to a fan of the God of War or to Metroidvania veterans. Kratos still has a long way to go before becoming a god, and I've fallen from grace.

Biomutant is what we expected from it, no more and no less, namely a generous project, steeped in good intentions, and which, through his atypical vision of Action-RPG, breathes a breath of fresh air into the genre. The studio title Experiment 101 is an ode to the exploration of a colorful post-apo universe, karmic destiny, avatar customization, and martial arts. It is difficult, it is true, to concretize these different aspects and to merge them. The fact remains that this experience, equal to no other, changes, surprises, and throws off to the point of becoming memorable. However, it is necessary to ignore a technical achievement which is clearly behind schedule and a progression that is sometimes too interventionist.

Maid of Sker, despite its faults revolving mainly around AI, is a survival horror to be saluted.

Saints Row is not really what we can call a total reboot of the saga, but rather a soft-reboot: it is very similar to Saints Row The Third which, even if appreciated, is nonetheless ten years old. In fact, this is felt and this new adventure is still struggling to impose itself through its technique, its gameplay or its creativity which remain anchored in a certain immobility despite some novelties: it is however a game of effective action that never takes itself seriously, rather funny and with damn generous content, which we can never blame him for. Volition finally delivers Saints Row 3 with far-west sauce, which remains appreciable without breaking three pieces of dough for a gunslinger.

Pokémon Masters is a good pick for any Pokéfan waiting for Shield and Sword. Even if the story isn’t that interesting, it has some good gameplay ideas and MXT doesn’t feel forced at all.

We’re still wondering why Salary Man Escape is a VR game. But that’s not a real problem. Tricky physics and useless and an annoying timer are one. Nonetheless, there are actually some good puzzles in that game.

An old-fashioned Lovecraftian action-adventure game rather than frenetic Survival Horror, Alone in the Dark allows itself an interesting re-imagining of the founding episodes. Nostalgia unfortunately collides with obsolescence: even the hardcore fan of the license will have difficulty getting past systems that are too archaic. We would have appreciated that, freed from the chains of AAA with huge budgets and the need to necessarily do better than its competitors, the Pieces Interactive title tried more things, did things differently, allowed itself a certain radicality. It is not so. An adventure with a capital “AA”, imperfect in its substance as in its form, but sincere in everything it undertakes.

From the outset, we cannot welcome the bet launched by The Diofield Chronicle. Carried by divine music and gameplay as ingenious as it is interesting, the Square-Enix game is undeniably generous. Regulars of the genre and lovers of tactical role-playing games risk succumbing to its "retro" charm and its various incantations. Rhythmic, pleasant and more surprising than it seems, The Diofield Chronicle struggles to keep up the pace over time. The objectives are repeated, the free phases do not bring much and the staging lacks the energy to widen its audience. Nevertheless, for those who want to discover something other than the usual blockbusters and who is not hermetic to the genre, here is a work that could become cult in a few years or, at least, find its letters of nobility among enthusiasts.

While it is not a bad game, Empire of Sin is sometimes disappointing in that it fails to give shape to complementary ideas that could have been good. If the first hours in the game are rather pleasant and that we take pleasure in growing his empire of crime, once the management mechanics are assimilated, the game goes on autopilot. In addition, he proves too unconvincing in his fights, conventional, sometimes buggy and which often seem interminable, because too repetitive and not very nervous. Not uninteresting then, but not as balanced or entertaining as one would have hoped.

Despite a nice and complex scenario, and a quite original concept, The Occupation has many flaws, from many technical issues to an imperfect AI. Most players won’t see all the different endings because of this.

Destiny 2 : Warmind failed to deliver a compelling campaign and rushes its storyline in less than a couple of hours. Nevertheless, it adds a cool new end-game PvE event and many quests, which were eagerly expected by fans.

Bloodlines 2 has undeniable qualities: its rich world, its political intrigue, its immersive atmosphere, and some vampiric powers offer real moments of pleasure. But the game multiplies good ideas that it executes poorly and, in this sense, is neither a good RPG nor a good action game. It's a mixed experience that, despite solid writing, suffers from rather poor level design, minimal progression, and low-impact choices, tarnishing the full potential of an otherwise promising sequel. Bloodlines 2 gives the impression of a game rushed out, which did not fully exploit what its flamboyant universe had to offer.

We would have imagined it more as free-to-play, this Quidditch Champions. Rather faithful to the universe in terms of artistic direction, the game at least has the merit of correctly rethinking the rules of the broom sport to make them much fairer on the screen. On the other hand, the positions are cruelly unequal, the matches frankly chaotic and the game runs out of steam after just a few hours. Unbroken Studios still needs to make many adjustments to make its experience a must-have for Quidditch.

Thanks to its simple formula, Warhammer: Chaosbane is an easy-to-play hack’n’slash, but it really lacks some more variety. This game is not aimed at the big lootheads but to a more casual audience, and it shows.
