    If you’re looking for a rogue-like that has a lot of charm and stands out from the crowd, you can’t go wrong with Airheart: Tales of Broken Wings.

    Airheart will appeal to those who enjoy learning a game’s systems by trial and error. The bizarre-sounding concept of skyfishing is ridiculous when first seen, but quickly feels almost natural.

    Simply put, the core experience of Airheart: Tales of Broken Wings is unconventional and addictive. That being said, the fact that it only contains the one single-player mode and that grinding is a necessity make it feel like less of a game than it could have been.

    Airheart: Tales of Broken Wings is a game whose crafting mechanic is a lot more interesting than the rest of the gameplay. It doesn’t feel broken, it just feels like the flying gameplay is secondary to the inventive crafting.

    Airheart presents an interesting idea with hints of brilliance, but fails to deliver a game with staying power. Whilst the upgrade system is satisfying, it’s let down by repetitive gameplay and UI issues that get in the way even when playing with the endearing crafting system.

    With simple controls but somewhat awkward combat, it has a lot going for it, however, Airheart lacks an explanation of crafting and the stakes for returning home are far too high, making it too great of a punishment to be enjoyable.

    I wanted to like Airheart. The concept of a roguelike with air combat, exploring worlds, and creating my own plane is a good one. Unfortunately, buggy game mechanics, lackluster crafting and the awful grind for money shoots this little ship out of the sky.

    I love the colors and the design of this game, it is so cheerful and just gives me pleasure. Could be a little longer with harder bosses, however flying around just shooting enemies and admiring beautiful sights is what this game is about (also photo-mode is awesome).     sure the crafting is fun but its not really explained well in fact I had to learn earn and learn again and again after a while it can get repetitive but its a flying game so it will and that's fine I like flying games
    so if you like futuristic games hunting flying fish battling pirates and don't mind being attacked every time you move up to the cooler levels then this is the game for you...personally I need more flying time    … Expand
