    Apex Legends on the Nintendo Switch is a full fledge free to play, portable (kind of) cousin to the big consoles and PC version with cross-play but no cross-progression. I enjoy playing it and if you do not mind some blurry graphics and frame drops every so often then give this game a try and join up with some friends.

    This Switch release puts in the work and squeezes the game onto Nintendo's hardware, but the limitations of the platform make it a tough sell for those without access to other consoles or a beefy PC. It's a wonderful novelty to load up a recent AAA title on such a compact device, but that fades after a couple of hours. Still, for the Nintendo faithful and anyone who hasn't yet given Apex Legends a try, EA's latest Switch release is a worthy free-to-play option that should provide hours of white-knuckle action.

    If the heart of Apex Legends is present, this shooter is not in top form. It was obvious that concessions had to be made for Respawn's title to find its way on Switch. Unfortunately these cuts tarnish the gameplay to the point of regularly putting players at a disadvantage by hiding their opponents behind weak resolution and marked aliasing. Dying because you can't see your opponent in a hard-to-identify cluster of pixels is frustrating, and it happens a bit too much in this version of Apex. Still, if this is your only way to reach your friends playing on other media, this version may help you out. It is not, however, representative of what Respawn's Battle Royale can really be.

    I did have moments of fun playing Apex Legends on Switch. Panic Button has managed to take a game that I love and make it work just well enough on Nintendo's hybrid console. I don't want to keep playing it on Switch with its many technical concessions (nor do I want new players to be introduced to Apex Legends this way), but this port is--in its current state--a decent last resort. If your only way to play Apex Legends is on Switch, then you now have that option. Just know that you're signing up for something less than ideal.

    The pacing of the game is so favourable for those just starting out, and offers a great place to learn the mechanics of the game at a much slower pace than the console versions. Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch is definitely worth a download, just go in with an open mind.

    The launch version of Apex Legends on Nintendo Switch is hardly convincing. Panic Button showed it was up to the task of porting this highly demanding game on the console, but at the cost of losing a major part of what makes the game both enjoyable and competitive. Updates will likely improve the game over time, hopefully.

    pretty damn good job from the panic button folks. this game shines in handheld mode. really happy with this port

    The grapichs isnt the best but I think this game is worth trying on the Nintendo Switch. Im not even that kind of person who plays this kinds of games. I have already played it for more than 10 hours for the last few days. I was suprised that this game even worked on the Nintendo Switch the way it does. But I truly recommend to play the game in docked mode to get 720p. In handheld mode its only 576p apparently.… Expand

But it is very much a playable experience. It was a little disconcerting for me because I'm used to 60 fps on ps4 and 75 on pc, so going to switch with it's inconsistent 30 was interesting. But I would never say that the game reaches unplayable fps, or less than 20 fps, and if it does its not for very long. Overall the visuals of the game doesn't bother me that much as long as I'm in handheld mode. Playing on the tv is a little rough. I do think that if panic button keeps working on the game it will get better. Personally I wouldn't mind some more graphic cutbacks if it meant a stable fps and a clearer picture( they need to remove a lot of the shadows that aren't needed.) But for what the game is, I would say it's a lot of fun. I've already won three matches on switch and had a pretty decent time doing it. Ultimately if you have access to a more powerful platform, play on there. But if you are on the go or don't own any other platform, I would recommend giving this game a try. But just play in handheld mode, trust me :)… Expand

    I was able to play it may 3 times. After that matchmaking lasted 10 or more minutes so I returned to much better splatoon2. :)

    So Apex on Switch is pretty dead, you can't find any swicth players on european servers, except if you are on japanese servers.

    They did improved the game since then but in general there are still some issues :

    - performance : now it's a little bit more stable, but when you are fighting 3 players and more, you can lose 5 to 10 fps.

    - visuals : still the lowest FOV that I ever seen and resolution is very bad I can't see ennemies very far away

    - Audio : still some bugs

    I think they should have removed all visuals effetcs like reflections, dynamic lights and decreased the render distance of some objects to get the Swicth version running at constant 30fps and higher res (1080p).

    576p in handheld mode !!! We don't see much in handheld mode but the interface is like 3 times larger because of the low resolution.
    Btw sometimes there are some "input lags" with joycon.

    if you are really interested to play the game on the go, skip the Swicth version and wait for the mobile version to come, it will run way better (1080p 60fps) and also it may look better for the final release.

    +20GB for that.... you'll need to buy a SD card to play this free game. Also I don't understand how the worst version (*Switch) have 5.2 user score ?? The others versions that run the game better are only 1 user score higher than the Swicth version, Ah! I see there are some bots that put 10/10, so I'll do the same but it's to compensate.
