LEGO Dimensions is going to be an expensive hobby, because despite a few minor issues it's a joy to build things before you put them into the game, and is one of the best games in the series yet.

Saviorless is a dark, frightening, often sorrowful tale that took me a little while to get into and then held on tight for the duration.

Ys Memoire: The Oath in Felghana is a great way to experience an outstanding action RPG, and I’m so glad this was a game that wasn’t forgotten. The fast-paced combat, epic boss fights and rewarding exploration make it a joy from start to finish, and even with a lack of direction I struggled to put this adventure down once I started it. This is an all time classic that shows why the Ys series is beloved by fans, so don’t miss out on it like I almost did.

Super Mega Baseball 3 is a solid baseball sim, proving grounded gameplay that allows anyone to jump in. With loads of customisation options and a great Franchise mode, it's easily the best in the series.

With its creepy setting and constant threat, The Devil in Me provides a satisfying horror experience for fans of the series.

If you’re looking for a detailed and accessible American football game, this is it. Along with fantastic gameplay and a Franchise mode showcasing clear improvements, you won’t be disappointed.

Samurai Jack: Battle Through Time is a love letter to the animated series and a throwback to classic platform action games of the PS2 era, in the best possible way.

The Switch version is pretty damn fantastic. I’ve played this on both PS4 and Switch. It plays great and everything runs and looks super on the Switch screen. If you’re a fan of the franchise, this is a great piece of history that has a lot of things fans will adore.

RKGK is a beautiful game that puts all its heart into fast and fluid movement and the graffiti you'll paint across Cap City.

Dungeons and Degenerate Gamblers is a lovely Blackjack deck builder that's easy to learn, with plenty of unique ways to hit twenty one.

Three great games packaged for new and old players that look and run well. Not the best versions, but it's a nice to have BioShock: The Collection on Switch.

My Hero One's Justice 2 is an incredibly fun and over the top anime fighting game, with a ton of modes to play. Although there's not been a massive amount of new content added since it's predecessor, the combat is good enough to keep you coming back for more.

There are few rhythm games that are as joyful or as fun as this. If you need a happy place, this should most definitely be it.

It’s solidly built, with slick controls and a mean learning curve but it’s not the kind of game you would sit with for hours on end.

As a narrative puzzle game, The Operator is very good. It never feels unsolvable, but isn't insultingly easy either, and presents itself with some nice touches.

A glorious looking debut for Ratchet & Clank on PS4 that retains the superb ebb and flow the series has always had. It doesn't do a huge amount new, but what's here is great fun.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is pure arcade madness, with a couple of interesting new multiplayer modes, a killer soundtrack and an accessible, instant-action approach to its career and online contingents.

Bright, colourful and a lot of fun, Taiko no Tatsujin is a beat ‘em up I can really get behind.

When played with friends, Payday 2 is the ultimate heist game, offering tons to see, do, and unlock.

Severed takes a gimmick in touch-based combat and actually manages to successfully wrap an entertaining game around it. The eerie, ambiguous, yet beautiful, world helps but I found that enough new aspects were added to the combat to keep it interesting until the very end. If this is the Vita’s swansong then it’s going out on a wonderful note.

Though the twin-stick controls can be a little imprecise on Switch, it feels no less fantastic when you nail a run in Inertial Drift. It’s a wonderfully unique racer.

System Shock on PS5 is a great opportunity for console players to experience Nightdive Studios excellent remake of a classic.

A Little to the Left: Seeing Stars provides an extra one hundred puzzles to solve in a cosy setting, which is perfect if you've finished the base game.

Need For Speed: Payback may not do anything new, but it brings together elements of Forza Horizon and Burnout Paradise to create a fun and explosive racer.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla: The Siege of Paris is an excellent expansion, offering some new mechanics and a magnificent story.

Hyper Light Drifter is a gorgeous experience that everyone needs to play but keep the performance issues in mind before you get the Switch version.

Unruly Heroes is a beautiful, fun and engaging platformer with enough charm and replayability to make it a solid recommendation to anyone.

Destroy All Humans! definitely falls under the 'faithful remake' category, with great humour, short and sweet missions, and lots of stuff to blow up. Blowing things up does become repetitive, but it's still a lot of fun.

Buddy Simulator 1984 may not have the best RPG mechanics in the world, and you may as well forget about playing it in docked mode due to the level of text input involved early doors, but see past these minor gripes and this Switch port of a 2021 Steam belter is absolutely worth your time.

JETT: The Far Shore is a cathartic trip that makes you feel a part of something special in such an unknown and beautiful new world.

An amazing accomplishment for a team of just two people. It’s an enjoyable, well thought out, and immersive little game that will scratch most people’s micromanagement itches. Having mouse control on a PC version might be advantageous, and therefore the way to go with a potential purchase, but the portable nature of the Nintendo Switch means you can take your crew everywhere you go. Win-win.

Super Monkey Ball: Banana Mania is an excellent time with bags of replay value, potential in its online leaderboards and competitive play, and works a treat in local co-op thanks to the fun, if sometimes superficial minigames.

This is one of the better VR titles available on the PlayStation 4, and the variety at which you get to customise your character paired with the survival horror make it a fun game to play.

The controls and UI work well on consoles, and the visuals are great, making Transport Fever 2: Console Edition well worth checking out.

If you're after something cerenral and addictive, Evil Genius 2: World Domination on console is a solid port of a very enjoyable game.
