Coromon is a delightful master catching game that runs really well on the Switch, and is perfect for handheld sessions on the sofa.

Inkbound is a turn based Roguelike with a whole lot of depth to it, but don't expect it to hold your hand in the early hours.

A beautiful marriage of the Mystery Dungeon and Etrian Odyssey franchises resulting in a brilliant and fun game.

Ember Knights is a wonderful rogue-lite that makes full use of its gameplay to offer a challenge that'll scratch that itch Hades left behind.

The Falconeer is a beautiful game that offers a necessary freedom and escape that is much needed right now. It looks incredible, and flying around The Great Ursee feels excellent, but sometimes the combat can be tricky.

Chaos;Child is another fantastic entry in the Science Adventure series from MAGES and 5pb. that is a must play for visual novel fans.

Fans will love the Lara Croft Collection, but even newcomers just looking for an interesting adventure game will find a lot to like.

Midnight Ghost Hunt is a wonderful and unique multiplayer experience with loads of loadout options and so much polish in 1.0.

AOT 2: Final Battle is no doubt one of the best anime games ever with Omega Force absolutely nailing the source material.

In a year dominated by Metroidvanias, huge open worlds, and big budget action, House Flipper 2 is a refreshingly joyous, relaxing experience.

Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley completely surprised me, and thanks to its gorgeous world and varied activities is a top notch cozy game.

It’s wonderful to be back with Clem, and the new characters are interesting. Even though the story is still in its infancy, it feels like we’ve got plenty to look forward to as the season moves forward.

There’s a lot to like with this remaster and I hope Capcom considers remastering the others for Switch (and PS4 and Xbox One) in the future because some aspects haven’t aged well but this is a damn fine experience. I’ve grown to enjoy playing many older games on handheld systems and Onimusha is best on Switch for me.

Berserk Boy is a fantastic Mega Man inspired action platformer, with loads of awesome abilities and a great flow through the stages.

Kosmokrats offers a nice change of pace from other physics-based puzzler out there, with a dark comedic edge and some challenging puzzles that become more complex over time.

A worthy conclusion and a fantastic follow up to Mask of Deception that is a must play for visual novel fans on Vita.

Anno 1800 Console Edition will eat hours if you let it. One minute you're ruminating over where to place a lumberjack's hut, the next you're connecting a huge network of warehouses.

Thicker Than Water is the best episode yet, and as it finished I was left with the all too familiar feeling of nervousness and fear us Walker fans are used to. Telltale Games makes great use of Walkers, too, and you remember just how random and deadly their attacks can be. Going into Episode Five it’s going to be interesting to see how the group dynamic works after the crazy events of the end, and just how the gang are going to recover. There’re still plenty of issues with the animation on the character’s eyes, and some of the facial animations aren’t telling of what they’re actually trying to say, but forget this due to the gripping nature of the story. It’s clear to see why The Walking Dead is Telltale Games’ jewel in the crown, and if the previous two seasons have taught us anything, it’s to bring your hankies to the finale.

If you’re a fan of either of the universes here, this is well worth your time and money.

If you don’t have access to the PC version then House Flipper 2 is definitely worth picking up on console.

If you loved the original, this is just as good, with a great new art style and some nice changes to combat.

Bringing NeuroVoider to the Switch was a real no-brainer for Flying Oak, it’s a good slice of rogue-like action for this terrific machine.

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Eyes in Heaven features fun combat and a crazy story you’ll find hard not to get sucked into.

Kirby's Return to Dream Land Deluxe is a great excuse to revisit a classic Wii title, with just enough new additions to shake things up.

Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown offers a robust fighting system that runs silky smooth, with plenty of variety in fighters and move-sets.

Even if the changes outside player AI and the social feed feel more like tiny improvements than anything substantial. it's still a remarkable simulation and the best on the market.

Unbound: Worlds Apart is an excellent platform game with plenty of interesting portal puzzles, but it has a lot frame drops on Switch.

The Callisto Protocol is violent and brutal, with stunning visuals, but its intimacy causes a few problems that are hard to be overlooked.

A total audio and visual delight, Yoshi's Woolly World is a strong addition to the Yoshi game series, though only completionists might find they get the full value from the game.

Race The Sun absolutely nails what it sets out to do, and it’s a game you will play in short bursts every day. While the initial feel of the game might be a slight grind thanks to the bare-bones ship, your perspective will change a few hours into the game as you start unlocking more things and as your score starts making its way up on the leaderboards.

It's not perfect, and it is unlikely to win many new fans this far down the road, but finally Capcom's delivered the completed vision for Street Fighter V.

This really is "more Geometry Wars", but it's been quite some time since we've had a new game. The campaign level design offers something new, but the classic mode is where it's really at.

If you’re looking for a new Metroidvania, and you like your bosses big and your violence sweary, Loopmancer is an absolute treat.

Zet Zillions combines compelling deck building and a sweet Saturday morning cartoon aesthetic to really stand out amongst its peers.

Hypercharge: Unboxed is an excellent multiplayer shooter. It plays extremely well, runs smoothly, and offers plenty of fun and challenge for groups of friends.

Loading times are a minor niggle though, and while the single player does fall a little bit flat it does a good job of educating you on weapon usage and game mechanics. But, let’s face it, multiplayer is where Worms has always shined and it’s no different here. Get a bunch of friends together and duke it out; it gets a bit chaotic with more than four people playing, but with friends chaos is fun.

If you’ve never played Dynasty Warriors 8 before, this release is absolutely a must buy if you enjoy the Warriors games. If you’ve never played a Warriors game before, look into Fire Emblem Warriors or Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition. While those two games are overflowing with superb content, DYNASTY WARRIORS 8: Xtreme Legends Definitive Edition is the first non Nintendo Warriors release that is an easy recommendation for me not only for the great content but also in terms of how good it plays on the Switch.

Ten years on, this is still one of the best arcade racers out there. Hours will be lost just flying around the map being a nuisance, and a few old fashioned decisions won’t dampen the excitement from playing a game this fast and furious.

The Eco Lifestyle expansion feels new and fresh even this far into the game’s lifespan. Another game-changer for The Sims 4, and a true home run for Maxis.

Octo Expansion does what it needs to by keeping Splatoon 2 fresh.

A must play on Switch. It includes all content released post launch for the PC version right from the get go. Team Cherry has done a superb job and once those issues are ironed out, this will be a perfect version of a fantastic game.

SOLAS 128 takes mirror puzzles to a whole new level, with a host of different light-based mechanics and a sprinkle of synth magic.

Stellaris is a beautiful, busy space adventure that rewards you as much for careful, considered strategy as it does for building a 40-ship fleet as early as possible and going ham on anything with more than one pair of eyes.

With exotic locales and new ideas, The Furious Wild DLC reminds us why we fell in love with Total War: Three Kingdoms in the first place.

Despite a largely forgettable story and a few misfires, Outriders is a great looter shooter that feels satisfying to play alone or with others and easily holds its own among contemporaries.

The best part is that this is a great game to play on the go, the levels are short enough to crack out a couple on a short commute or loads on a long one, and they’re packed with extra challenges that take little time to accomplish as well. Yes there are some problems with the transition from machine to machine(s), but this is still a very welcome return of this brand of puzzle-action.

If you’re looking for an authentic NHL game with excellent gameplay and plenty of modes, this is definitely the game for you.

ANNO: Mutationem is an enjoyable cyberpunk adventure with enough confident swagger to distract from its shortcomings.

NBA 2K25 has improved greatly on the court thanks to Pro Play and the new dribbling mechanics, with some nice tweaks to various modes.

For fans of Assassin's Creed who only own a Switch now or who simply want a reason to play these games again, this is a lot of game to sail through. And for anyone who never experienced Black Flag, or indeed the series as a whole, this is a great entry point.

Tokyo Xanadu is basically Falcom trying to create a Persona like game with their own signature flavour and a pretty damn good experience overall.

Abzû is one of the greatest looking games in existence, with a simple message at its heart. You’ll revel in the wonders of its beautifully designed ocean.

Rabi-Ribi on Nintendo Switch is an excellent way to experience this excellent game, even with the issues relating to lack of rumble and menu lag.

Biped is a unique 3d "platformer" with a really interesting way of moving your character. Entertaining in both single player and co-op, Biped is packed full of creative obstacles and unique challenges.

A spiritual successor to Fallout: New Vegas in every way, The Outer Worlds is better written and more polished than we've since come to expect from the franchise it emulates.

The Descendant offers a fascinating sci-fi tale intertwined with interesting puzzles, breathing fresh air into a genre that can feel stagnant at times.

Another solid entry into the series and fans of the series so far will love the new challenges it presents.

Dystopika is a small-scale, intimate city builder designed to let you chill while you build.

AOT 2 is now my favourite game based on an anime and if you’re a fan of the show or manga, this is a must play.

It may not be the most important remake of the year, but Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is a gorgeous, dense, and charming adventure.
