If you’ve ever heard about the series and wanted to see what all the fuss was about, it’s hard to imagine a better entry point, while series veterans should love that it’s got style and action to spare.

Everything considered, Attack on Titan 2 is an improvement on the first game in every way, but retreading old ground makes it hard to justify the “2” tacked on to the end. It’s a great opportunity for anyone who missed the first game to get a far more comprehensive Attack on Titan experience, and there’s definitely more content and improvements for those who did play it.

Every hour of the game is padded in purposeful ways, giving profound insight to every second of a grueling struggle against humanity's extinction, and the brave people risking more than just life and limb to keep their species alive one more day.

Attack on Titan 2 is pure fanservice. Omega Force an Koei Tecmo have made a title clearly focused on anime fans. But it is undeniable that development is not surprising and it is certainly repetitive. Even so, it will please, and very much so, the fans of the work of Hajime Isayama.

While it does suffer from some performance flaws, Attack on Titan 2 is a wonderful way for fans of the anime and manga to relive the fight for humanity. With breathtaking gameplay and some great character interaction, you’ll eat this right up.

A.O.T. 2 suffers some technical issues, but it offers enough action, story and content to please all the fans of the anime. It's also a good way for anyone else to discover this fantastic universe.

Attack on Titan 2 could easily have been a remaster of the first Attack on Titan, since most of the content is the same as the original title. There is virtually nothing here to justify a new purchase.

Anyone saying there is nothing new here is an idiot or liar. I guarantee they didn't finish the game. This game goes over the first season just like the last game then covers all of the second season.

There's so much content and it's almost infinite and the story mode is pretty immersive. The graphics is ok and the battle gameplay feels like being part of the anime. This second DLC adds a lot more to the base game and it makes it even more better.

New additions include: a 'what-if' story that allows you to make your own character and play through season 1, season 2 + a secret chapter, multiplayer (finally), lots of new and interesting weapons, a ton of new unlockable playable characters (over 20 new), vastly improved UI, a few new special titans, an even better and more streamlined ODM system, new flashy attacks like the scoped sneak attack and air jump attack, a suite of new missions, season 1 cutscenes have been redone to match the anime 1:1, a lot new costumes (DLC and in-game), the friend and skill systems, base building and upgrading bases, Another Mode in which you can play as and level up your favorite characters from the series, graphics that recreate the feel of the anime, and an overhauled mission system.

All of this is apparent within the first hour of playing. Really recommended for fans of anime or those who are looking to get into it. AoT2 packs plenty of new stuff whether this is your jumping in point or if you were left wanting more after the first game-- and it all runs beautifully on whatever version you choose be it a PS4, an XB1, or even on PC.

AoT 2 includes the first and secondAs someone who played the first AoT for +50 hours, I must say this one doesn't feel like a brand new game. AoT 2 includes the first and second season from the anime, the problem is that the second season is very short compared to the first, and the first season was already covered by AoT 1, so if you played the first game, things on AoT 2 may only get interesting after half of the story mode.

The excuse to repeat the first season here is that you can now create your own soldier and see the game through his/her perspective, but everything is pretty much the same. Putting a player-created character on this game feels like reading a "reader insert" fan fic at some parts (like when leveling up friendship status with characters).

Plus, get the best weapons and skills on this game take hours of unnecessary farming. Of course that get a good weapon shouldn't be easy task on a game, but spend +20 hours replaying missions and farming materials on the hardest difficult setting only to get a decent sword is a little too much, there are better ways to make it challenging without being tedious (and it's even worse if you're a completionist/trophy hunter).

Anyway, this game is for the anime/manga fans, and it's fun if you just want to beat the story mode and move on. In my opinion, they should have waited the third season before releasing AoT 2, so more content would be available.

Very fun game if you are an Attack on Titan fan like me. But it gets repetitive. Not a bad game at all though.
