Attack on Titan 2

Attack on Titan 2 is a comprehensive take on the franchise and a good entry point to it.

Its character customization system is surprisingly robust and the insertion of the players custom character into the story works much more smoothly than expected. Combine that with opportunity to befriend one’s favorite characters, side content that’s worth doing and decent online play, and the result is a surprisingly solid game that Omega Force should be proud of.

Attack on Titan 2 delivers tons of bloody action and a surprising amount of depth that's sure to please fans of the franchise.

Attack on Titan 2 proved to fully live up to our expectations, improving some of the less successful elements of the first episode and inserting a series of really attractive mechanics.

AOT 2 is now my favourite game based on an anime and if you’re a fan of the show or manga, this is a must play.

Everything considered, Attack on Titan 2 is an improvement on the first game in every way, but retreading old ground makes it hard to justify the “2” tacked on to the end. It’s a great opportunity for anyone who missed the first game to get a far more comprehensive Attack on Titan experience, and there’s definitely more content and improvements for those who did play it.

Attack on Titan 2 is an action game through and through, but also has time to slow it down for fans that want to spend time with their favorite characters.

Attack on Titan 2 is an interesting sequel as it chooses to retell the anime's story from the beginning and reuses a whole lot of assets and maps that existed in the previous game. While several smaller features have been added, it sometimes lacks originality. Fortunately, the core Titan combat is as satisfying and addictive as ever.

Second season, second game with more titans, more characters, and more action.

The biggest problem most players will likely run into is the risk of the combat, fun and frenetic as it is, becoming too repetitive.

If you weren't a fan of the first Attack on Titan game, then there is nothing that will change your mind with this sequel but those that did like the first game will like the second game even more from a gameplay perspective.

Every hour of the game is padded in purposeful ways, giving profound insight to every second of a grueling struggle against humanity's extinction, and the brave people risking more than just life and limb to keep their species alive one more day.

While the game is a fantastic improvement over the first game, the ability to play through the story mode as a created character doesn't really make up for having to play through the exact same missions while watching the exact same cutscenes of the first game all over again. That said the gameplay more than makes up for it as flying around battlefields and taking down Titans has never been more fun.

Despite its slow start, Attack on Titan 2 offers exciting gameplay along with a deep and intriguing plot that, melodrama aside, tugs on the heart strings.

Without being a revolution of the first game, Attack on Titan 2 is a nice evolution that packs enough new stuff to rejuvenate the game. On the downside, the gameplay is still quite repetitive, but that can be due to the game closely matching the manga.

Attack on Titan 2 is one of the best Omega Force games so far, offering a great sense of depth and intense battles against the titans. The coop and competitive game modes add fun and longevity to the experience.

Attack on Titan 2 is one of the strongest anime video games I’ve ever played, not because of a perfect story mode or graphics, but because it creates a unique gameplay experience that could only ever be done with an Attack on Titan game.

The first few hours with A.O.T. 2 feel like a huge disappointment, a cheap-cash in re-tread that doesn't reach further into the original story and feels almost identical to the first but as the story develops and more and more elements are unlocked, this really shows off its strengths. The gameplay is explosive and dynamic, the ODMG is an absolute joy, and there's enough content to keep playing for a very long time.

This is a well-thought sequel that builds over the foundations laid with the first chapter and deepens the RPG aspects, while getting rid of some rough edges here and there. If you love Isayama-san's work, don't miss out on this one.

AOT 2 is a considerable step forward compared to the previous episode, resulting in a game with epic and mature tones, that gives full merit to the work from which it is drawn.

Attack on Titan 2 is a thoughtful and often exhilarating sequel which fans of both the manga and anime will thoroughly enjoy.

This is a strong, strong game by Koei Tecmo, and does the Attack on Titan franchise a great service. Sadly, that's a franchise that doesn't have the pulling power that it did a few years ago, but older fans will enjoy the opportunity to get a new look at the distinctive setting and world, and who knows? The game might just find one or two new fans for the bloody, brutal, but ultimately dazzling franchise.

Attack on Titan 2 is a much improved sequel and such a vast game - you can spend hours playing and it feels like there’s still so much to do. Alongside some really solid gameplay, fans of the series will enjoy interacting with beloved characters, and while the storyline isn't going to offer anything new, you'll feel like a valued part of the fight against the giant menace.

Despite some missteps, such as a certain repetition, Attack on Titan 2 is bigger and more interesting than its predecessor, and it's a must have for the fans of Isayama. Is a solid tie-in, but its appeal is just for them.

Attack on Titan 2 is pure fanservice. Omega Force an Koei Tecmo have made a title clearly focused on anime fans. But it is undeniable that development is not surprising and it is certainly repetitive. Even so, it will please, and very much so, the fans of the work of Hajime Isayama.

This sequel does what the original doesn't while mixing different ideas such as friendship management, RPG elements or the importance of our avatar, which is a key part of the adventure. Overall, the game feels good and is chock full of content from the very start.

The original one was good, and this sequel takes everything from it and improves upon it. If you like AoT, you can't miss it.

Attack on Titan 2 is a surprisingly solid Action RPG with unique combat mechanics and a traversal system that’s probably the closest thing we’re going to get to feeling like we’re Spider-Man until Insomniac’s take on the character drops later in the year. Engaging a Titan in battle is always an exhilarating experience and the controls are easy to pick up but require patience and timing in order to fully master, although a little more depth would have been welcomed.

It identified what was good about the first game, ramped that up to eleven, and let players have fun experiencing the Isayama’s world. It’s bursting with character and flying around on ODM gear is still a treat, even if the time-to-kill frequently borders on the excessive. If you can put up with seeing the first season of the show, and locations from the first game, yet again, there are definitely worse ways of experiencing one of the biggest manga franchises this decade than A.O.T. 2.

Attack on Titan 2 does a great job as a game adaptation despite a few minor flaws and should be played by fans of the franchise. Though the flow of Attack on Titan 2 may be a bit repetitive, the game never ceases to be action-packed and often feels like a fighter pilot shootout.

While it does suffer from some performance flaws, Attack on Titan 2 is a wonderful way for fans of the anime and manga to relive the fight for humanity. With breathtaking gameplay and some great character interaction, you’ll eat this right up.

Ultimately, there’s no argument that this is the best game adaptation the franchise has seen, and it’s an undeniable improvement over its predecessor. However, the amount of rehashed material might be galling to players who want new content — those who’ll be happy with simply killing titans in a more polished fashion are the ideal audience here.

An improvement over the previous instalment, Attack on Titan 2 tweaks its combat, character setups, and online modes to create an overall more engaging experience. Unfortunately, the core gameplay loop becomes boring after extended sessions, which takes away from its potential longevity.

Attack on Titan 2 maintains the pacing problems with a plot retreading the narrative of the original. Persist with this and you see game with a compelling progression and reward system. Combat and movement is satisfying even if it is let down a little by the mission structure. It builds on its predecessor gradually but there's a lot here to entice fans and newcomers.

A.O.T. 2 suffers some technical issues, but it offers enough action, story and content to please all the fans of the anime. It's also a good way for anyone else to discover this fantastic universe.

Attack On Titan 2 is by no means perfect, but the original approach mixed with a very satisfying combat mechanic makes this quite the March surprise. Just make sure you’re ready for something a little different. It’s not normal…

the fact that it recycles so much of the 2016 game’s material means that in order to get to the new season 2 content you must first wade through a rehashed story mode with its dull sidequests and tedious dialogue choices.

Something went wrong with A.O.T. 2 both in terms of gameplay and polishing. The game delivers some intense, spectacular fighting scenes, but also suffers from a series of technical and design issues that make the experience cumbersome and frustrating.

Attack on Titan 2 has an action-packed campaign that fans of the show will enjoy along with a pretty fun multiplayer mode, even if does look a bit outdated and the traversal system can prove to be more challenging than taking down a Titan.

Overall Attack on Titan 2 is disappointing as a sequel. Despite the fact that there are a bunch of new features that add a ton of replayability, for those that have come to play because of their love of the anime series or the first game, prepare to be confused.

Attack on Titan 2 will offer good entertainment for the series fans, but it feels like more of the same instead of being a true sequel.

Attack on Titan 2 seems to be a sloopy copy of the first game adding just a few mechanical improvements but repeting the first story arc (again).

Although there's still some excitement to be found in the fundamentals of Attack on Titan 2, it's a game whose lack of meaningful strides forward is its own undoing. What is new sounds promising at first, but since it's so underutilized, the game ends up feeling like an extension of the first entry rather than a true sequel. If Omega Force does tackle the story of Eren Jaeger yet again, hopefully they’ll find more compelling reasons for players to revisit this gruesome world.

While it's certainly the definitive Attack on Titan game, A.O.T 2’s repetitive missions and lackluster online mode will quickly turn stale the freshness of the updated gameplay.

Attack on Titan 2 falls prey to the same problems as the first game, but worse. The story is less enjoyable, as it covers very well trodden ground. This feels like a sequel that didn't know what it wanted to be, so it just became a retread of the first game. It's unfortunate, as the first was just fun enough to be a real fan pleaser, but Attack on Titan 2 falls flat where that one soared.

Attack on Titan 2 is not necessarily a bad game, but it's not the type of game that typical hack and slash fans enjoy. However, Manga fans and Manga newcomers will definitely find something here.
