Rough Justice 84 contains loads of 80s retro vibes at least in graphics and score. Altough the gameplay is quite simple and seems slightly repetitive in the long run, it offers a lot of good and innovative approaches, of which one would like to see more. It is to be hoped that the courageous overall concept will be expanded in the future - even with a different setting.- GAMES.CH

In NHL 24, EA Sports focuses on improving the gameplay experience where it matters: On the ice. If CI Games should solve the performance issues on PS5, Lords of the Fallen is nothing less than one of the best Soulslike games so far. The game might be very similar in some of its basics, but cleverly makes use of its dual-layered game world that makes Lords of the Fallen stand out from the often trite Dark Souls clones. When the slowdown problem is gone, Lords of the Fallen isn't just a worth buy, it is a need to buy for any fan of the genre.- GAMES.CH

The Lamplighter’s League may look like a chance to play out your own pulp adventure fantasy, but it turns out to be an intricate combat puzzle full of synergies and silly combos. While performance can be a bit of an issue and the story fails to leave much of an impact, the core gameplay is fun enough to keep this title memorable. It won’t deliver the instant mainstream appeal something like X-COM will have, but passionate fans of turn-based tactics shouldn’t miss this hidden (albeit slightly unpolished) gem.- GAMES.CH

Assassin's Creed Mirage is a nostalgic trip to the past, dressed into a modern graphic robe. Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty expands Night City with a new district and a storyline right out of an espionage thriller. While the additional missions are among the best story-wise and the new district is a delightful mess of winding paths and shady alleys, the true star is the free 2.0 update attached to the release of the expansion. It overhauls nearly every aspect of gameplay and even delivers on some of the promises made for launch. It doesn’t fix the many issues with pacing, mission design and freedom of choice plaguing the main story, but improves nearly every other aspect of gameplay. Sadly there’s still many features missing from the original advertisement of the game and performance even after version 2.0 is still spotty to say the least. „Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty“ and the 2.0 patch would show a promising future, if this wasn’t also the last content planned for the game.- GAMES.CH

LEGO 2K Drive is an absolutely enjoyable and family-friendly fun-racer in an open-world-environment. The game transports the LEGO-formula very well and along with its unique humor, LEGO 2K Drive is a racing-game that stands out. However, there are some flaws regarding the open-world-design and the implementation of microtransactions.- GAMES.CH

Walkabout Mini Golf is a veritable VR hit for a reason: The game offers intuitive, motivating gameplay and varied courses with quite a few challenges. At the same time, it proves that VR doesn't have to be hectic and exhausting at all - but can be a truly relaxing place to return to again and again.- GAMES.CH

Nintendo made the seemingly impossible true: Tears of the Kingdom is even better than its fantastic predecessor. There is more freedom in the world, more variety between sky and underground and especially in combat. All four new main abilities enrich the adventure, in particular concerning puzzles, exploring or giving dye player much room for being creative to find different solutions. There are some minor details that are not perfect. But overall Tears of the Kingdom is close to perfection and just a masterpiece you need to play.- GAMES.CH

Ravenlok may not be particularly challenging or deep in its gameplay or narrative, but it nails the storybook atmosphere and the child-like wonder of exploring a magical world. Clearly aimed at a younger and/or less videogame-familiar audience, this game makes for a brilliant entry point into the hobby and offers a short, polished, albeit simple dive into a fairy-tale come to life.- GAMES.CH

Arkane Studio's Redfall stretches the very definition of what a finished game should be. It's unfinished, unpolished and uninspired in almost every regard. It feels like a dye prototype years from a full release. The few moments of Arkane's magic, when visual design of the vampires, some fun weapons and frantic co-op gameplay come together are quickly overshadowed by catastrophic bugs, bad performance and an empty-lifeless shell of a game.- GAMES.CH

A wonderful and colorful blend of everything strategy games have to offer. While neither the 4X gameplay nor the tactical combat reaches the heights and depth of its competitors, the unique blend of familiar elements mixed with emergent story telling makes this a safe bet for any fan of strategy games.- GAMES.CH

Honkai manages to delight in many different ways, from its mechanics to the world-building to the superb anime-like presentation. Yes, the F2P elements are there, but at least for now, there is a ton of fun to be had in Honkai without having (or being forced) to spend any real life cash.- GAMES.CH

Pocket City 2 is a really well-rounded title that improves upon its predecessor in many ways. It's not the deepest game in its genre, but it offers fun game mechanics that will keep you playing and also offers some nice extra features.- GAMES.CH

If you have any interest at all in railroads, or just want to play a fun sim game, Railroads! is right up your alley. It may not be as complex as other Sid Meier games, but it is all the more beginner friendly for it.- GAMES.CH

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor benefits from some new skills and weapon styles, giving the combat and free running system more variety and depth. However, the sequel can not surpass its great predecessor. The reason for that is much about the partially lame story and not least because of some annoying performance issues.- GAMES.CH

Tin Hearts is a wonderful little game of guiding toy soldiers through the remnants and memories of a toy workshop. While a little light on challenging experienced players, an excellent level progression, heartwarming story, and downright adorable visual design more than make up for it. However, the Nintendo Switch version suffers from muddy textures and occasional stutters that pull an otherwise excellent experience down.- GAMES.CH

With Advance Wars 1 + 2: Re-Boot Camp both GBA classics remain great turn-based strategy games that are complex and accessible. The scope is also greatly motivating and amazing with at least 45 hours only for the two solo campaigns. The presentation is nice, but cheap, but does not change anything about the gaming fun you'll have, even if you're not a fan of the genre.- GAMES.CH

As expected, Dead Island 2 is not a game that extensively scores with complex gameplay in a regular sense. You mostly kill zombies, but in a never seen before marked brutal and detailed diversive manner. And the last is the core of a great first person zombie action game and the reason why you need to play it, regardless if you prefer playing it solo or in online co-op mode.- GAMES.CH

While the story campaign starts quite interesting, it quickly looses a lot of momentum due to lots of boring standard quests, way too many battles which aren’t challenging at all and a general lack of surprises. On the other hand the dungeons and boss battles are fun, the upgrade system is full of possibilities, cross platform progression works well and playing through the campaign at an acceptable speed is totally possible without any micro transactions. The latter however become much more relevant in arena mode.- GAMES.CH

This prequel ironically feels smaller in scope and ambition than the first game in the series. Road 96 Mile 0 suffers from similar issues when it comes to relying too much on clichés of an evil regime. Some of the choices put before players are downright insulting and boil down to whether we think oppression is "okay" or not. Despite its flaws, it offers some really interesting character moments in the last third and offers some world building that was missing from the original Road 96. Newcomers find a good entry point here, while returning players will find some innovations gone, while other things like the environments have been largely improved.- GAMES.CH

Netflix strikes again with Terra Nil, another great offering for their subscribers. Curse of the Sea Rats benefits a lot from its nice looking cartoon graphics, the well done voice acting and by staying true to the Metroidvania genre at least in most aspects. There are also a lot of optional secrets to find with many references to game classics like Monkey Island, Worms or The Legend of Zelda. The major weak spot is the combat system, that largely fails of being satisfying and well balanced.- GAMES.CH

Meet Your Maker presents a fun, new take on level-builders like Mario Maker and classical shooters. Running and gunning is a quick and painful way to die here. Instead players should expect a surprisingly tactical take on post-apocalyptic grave robbery that's more than a little light on content at launch. As a live service, developer Behaviour Interactive (also responsible for Dead by Daylight) promises new content in regular intervals and if they can keep that up, this definitely has the potential for a cult classic.- GAMES.CH

Two Point Campus: School Spirits is a fun little addon to the main game. Playstyle, music, humor remains all the same and is still awesome.
