If you are an Attack on Titan fan, you should definitely check out Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle. If you never got the second game, you’ll get the most out of the full release. For those that already have Attack on Titan 2, the extra DLC is definitely worthwhile. The DLC itself is equal to the content of the first game, so it’s more than worth it. It’s very smart to release the next season of Attack on Titan in DLC form, since the second game really struggled with new content and the DLC adds to that rather than taking us through the full story again to get to the new plot points. If you don’t like the Attack on Titan games, this game will not change your mind since it is basically more of the same, but for those that did enjoy the past games, you will get the most out of this release.

The game's technical issues and inventory system bring it down heavily. Without the flaws, it's a decent survival horror game, but nothing that stands out that well. If you're a hardcore survival horror player, Submersed might be a game to consider (a guilty pleasure), but for those that want a quality survival horror, look elsewhere.

Youngblood starts off great, but fails to keep that momentum going. The level-locked missions and daily grind required to level-up and advance just don't work with a Wolfenstein game, especially since it lacks all of the social and gear upgrade aspects of the online shooters it is trying to emulate. This also makes the game stretch out it its already thin story to the point where you'll barely notice it's there. Youngblood is a rare misfire for the Wolfenstein series, and you won't miss much if you sit this one out.

Sea of Solitude certainly has a unique look and feel to it, but the novelty alone is not enough to carry the game. Your enjoyment of it will come down to how much you connect to Kay and her story because the gameplay alone will not be enough to compel you to play until the end. Even if you're just in it for the story, there are times when that story will also feel like a slog, especially when you face the monsters that represent Kay's endlessly bickering parents. The game is certainly an unusual experience, but it will probably leave you wishing that it was a more compelling one.

If you're a fan of Samurai Shodown, you definitely need to check out this game. Even if you've never played a SamSho before, check out this game. It's easily the most unique fighter out on the market at the moment thanks to the emphasis on precision attacks and punishing the opponent for high damage rather than trying for long combos and guesses with mixups. Samurai Shodown is honestly the best game that SNK has given us in recent years. It's very polished and it looks and sounds fantastic!

I really enjoyed Team Sonic Racing. The team mechanics make the kart racing feel fresh and help the game stand out from the other kart racers out there. The track design captures the fun and spirit of the Sonic universe, and the races are every bit as fast as they should be. If you're looking for fast and fun kart racing, take Team Sonic Racing out for a spin.

The Sinking City is an overall good game if you enjoy investigation games with a bit of horror elements in them. This is really not a game that I would recommend to a horror fans since it focuses far more on investigation and the overall story is slow from the start. Once you get deeper into the game, the horror atmosphere gets better, but it never does stray too far from solving cases in order to gain evidence that takes you to your next lead. Basically, it's not up to a Call of Cthulhu type of horror atmosphere, but it does have its moments where it gets a bit freaky in between all the investigation moments.

Overall Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is an enjoyable kart racer. The karts are fast and the tracks are challenging, so the campaign mode can be a little frustrating to casual and younger gamers. Multiplayer racing is a lot of fun, both locally and online, and you can easily get in a couple of races when you only have a few minutes of game time available. I love all of the customization options, but picking up all of the coins that you need and accomplishing all of the goals required will take some time to get through.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is an enjoyable, yet deeply challenging game. It's not really a Dark Souls with samurais game, but whether or not you enjoyed the difficulty level of the battles in Dark Souls will be a good benchmark in gauging how much you'll like Sekiro. MXGP Pro is not bad. I really think a player that enjoys racing simulators might find something to enjoy with it. If I could get past its extreme learning curve for first time players, I bet I could have a lot of fun with it. It's going to be awesome to see how this game grows in content as the DLC characters are released and improvement is made on the fighting game engine and existing characters. The overall experience with Tannenberg is great. Their downfall right now is low player population especially on the US servers. The saving grace is the locale can be changed and the EU server is usually loaded with players. This of course increases the response time if within the US but is barely noticeable. Another downfall is the lack of differentiation in weaponry for the class selections. It is difficult to tell which set of weapons to choose from which boils down to trial, error, and preference. It's not the end of the world but it would be nice to see stats before making a selection. Anyone remotely interested in a fresh authentic take on a World War series should give Tannenberg a chance.

Even with One Piece: World Seeker's problems it can be fun to play once you get into the main story missions. The cutscenes are entertaining and the game has good character dialogue. It starts to get more interesting once more characters are introduced. Fans of the One Piece franchise will most likely enjoy the game for what it is much more than I did, but I don't see how you can ignore the gameplay flaws. Overall, Metro Exodus is an enjoyable shooter. Taking Metro out of the Metro is a good move for the series, but the game still provides plenty of claustrophobic locations for those who enjoyed the dark tunnel crawls of Metro games past. The ammunition system is still limited, but it feels better managed and more forgiving this time out, although I can still see it as being frustrating to some players. Ride 3 is an easy entry into the motorcycle simulation genre. The level of detail on and off the track is visually satisfying. Over time playing the AI can get a little boring, but multiplayer provides some variety, at least if you win and don't get dead last like I do more than half the time. For someone wanting to get into a motorcycle racing game this is a strong contender. Veterans of the genre may have their niche, but Ride seems to have a good community following. Fans of RE7 will really enjoy the remake since it nearly has the same type of gameplay (only with a third person camera). While PUBG delivers the core gameplay of the battle royale genre, it doesn't manage to do it with the sophistication of competing battle royale games on the PS4. It looks and plays like an alpha build of a game that's focusing on getting the basics worked out without worrying about optimization or graphical polish. It's also a threadbare offering, giving you a single game mode while games like Black Ops 4 and Battlefield V give you a whole lot more game modes beyond their battle royale modes. PUBG may have come first to the genre on other platforms, but its PS4 debut feels like a game that the world has long ago passed by.

Odium to the Core is certainly tough, but in a good way. The game never feels unfair and each death feels deserved. The game's presentation adds to the fun, with graphic novel style cel-shading using colors that really pop combined with an original D&B soundtrack with tracks crafted to fit each level. If you're easily frustrated, then you should avoid this game completely - I unlocked the achievement for 100 deaths faster than I'd care to admit. If you're looking for a short-term diversion, the game is good enough to fill that role, but not many people will be returning to it just to beat their best time through the game.

If you're a fan of Street Fighter, I definitely recommend checking out Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection. The game is by far the best Street Fighter collection that has been released thus far and all the most popular iterations are online. The online seems to function quite well too! The amount of history that is in this collection is pretty mind-boggling.

I'm torn over the score for Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. The move from the ever-more-stale MMO combat kept me interested and entertained to the very end, but the painfully slow start, the blah and unnecessary multiplayer, the bland environments, repetitive enemies and almost hilariously bad cutscenes take a change for the better and stack negative after negative on top of one of the best things the SAO series has ever done.

I won't rehash the problems I had with World simply because they make me profoundly sad. I wanted to like the game, I hoped the new direction would bring the series to a new level, but instead, the whole thing blew up in my face like a Marshmallow Peep left in the microwave too long.

Masters of Anima's blend of action-RPG and real-time strategy gameplay works well and makes for an enjoyable game experience. If you don't play strategy games, then you may find the battles to be pretty difficult and you could find the game to be frustrating. If you're looking for something a little different and are up to the challenge, though, you just may find yourself hooked.

The story is interesting enough, but I didn't find it nearly as engaging as in some of the prior games. Onomichi is a nice enough location to visit, but the game has you spend too much time there for what it has to offer. And I miss the fighting styles of Yakuza 0 and the strategic element they added to the fights. If you're new to the series, you'll have fun with the game, but fans of the series will probably be left feeling like they expected more out of Yakuza 6.

I've always enjoyed playing Far Cry games, but Far Cry 5 is probably my favorite. It has a few flaws and some missed opportunities, but overall it takes the Far Cry formula that's worked in the past and improves upon it. If you've never really enjoyed Far Cry games in the past, then those improvements may not be enough to change your mind about the game. However, anyone who's a Far Cry fan, or anyone who has yet to experience a Far Cry game will probably really enjoy their time in Montana.

Wulverblade will appeal to a subset of action gamers the same way a shmup or a game like Super Meat Boy appeal to a subset of shooter and platform gamers. It's not for everyone, but if you want a challenging side-scrolling brawler that will put your skills to the test, you'll love Wulverblade.

Debris is by no means is a heavy hitter among other games this year, but does lend itself to a very questionable and interesting experience. If this game had more immersive elements to it such as VR, then I would lean a little more in favor of recommending a play-through. If you are looking for a drawn-out mind bender this game is for you, but be sure to grab two copies and play with a friend.

In a move that doesn't happen often these days, I'm going to go against the mainstream critics and fans and say The Escapists 2 is a Switch game that doesn't even deserve a first look, let alone a second. If I want to feel the opposite of entertained, and instead an emotion bordering on physical pain, I'd save my money and throw myself down the stairs. My home has two flights, one for each game in this inexplicably popular series. Good news! I never have to play either again, and I can get the same feeling by hurling myself down one of the two carpeted inclines in my own home - for free.

Gorogoa is a good fit for the Switch. The four panel interface is a good fit for a portable game and you can play the game entirely using the touch screen. While it makes for a good portable game, you should probably make your way through the game without long breaks in between as it can be hard to remember what panels led you to the current stage of the puzzle and how you last manipulated the current panels. Overall, Gorogoa is an unusual and unique puzzle game, and it's easy to recommend to anyone who enjoys games of this genre.

It's a dream game for Dragon Ball die-hards, a great new way to test your skills for fighting game nuts and an all-around great experience for everyone else in between. The story and arcade modes present plenty of challenge and things to keep you occupied, and the roster is large enough to make no two battles feel the same. And, refreshingly, the online modes appeal to not just those who have immersed themselves in online battles for years, but newcomers and even just the mildly interested as well. At present time, the PS4 version looks to be the one to get due to a few issues with the Xbox One's online capabilities, but both versions perform even better than you might have hoped. For a game with nearly a full year of hype behind it, Dragon Ball FighterZ delivers in ways that will exceed even the most lofty of expectations. This is a fighting game for the ages.

If you're a fan of the DW hack and slash formula, like I consider myself to be, then you'll get the most out of DW9. The game's open world and extra tasks (side missions, material gathering, hunting) offer a good distraction from the usual gameplay. The gameplay has been given more depth, so there is more variety this time around, but it still gets repetitive after several hours. Players that aren't that interested in the DW formula might find something to enjoy with DW9 but even with all the extra additions, they feel like only a minor distraction from the base hack and slash gameplay that you'll ultimately be thrown into. Overall, the game is a good step forward for the DW series, but it still needs work in making its open world more attractive and fun to explore.

To say I enjoyed Chroma Squad is a bit of an understatement; I really dove into the sim stuff. The battles, though on the simple side, keep the part of me who loves SRPG combat more than interested from beginning to end. The extremely linear progression of the game and the backgrounds left a lot to be desired, but Chroma Squad is still an easy, if not rabidly enthusiastic, recommendation to anyone who loves SRPGS, the Power Rangers or just wants something a bit on the strange side.

Overall, Resistance is nearly futile. If you are a fan of the series, then you more than likely already have the season pass and will enjoy every bit of content delivered to you. Otherwise, if you are hand-picking your DLC experience then this content could probably be put on the backburner until it's more affordable.

With all the indies in the Switch eShop, The Deer God is one that fails to impress on the level as others. As great as the premise is, the gameplay is repetitive and boring, with really no incentive to play for more than a few minutes. The art style is as tired as the random encounter or escort mission, and the game just fails to come together in any meaningful way. Other indies far outshine this one, and your money is probably best spent elsewhere.

If you're looking for a new chapter in the Portal saga, Bridge Constructor Portal won't give you that. There's a little of that trademark GLaDOS dark humor before each level, but the game is really a sequence of puzzles rather than a contiguous story. I didn't mind that, though, I enjoyed the challenge of the puzzles (and to be honest, it was also fun watching everything collapse in spectacular fashion as a convoy was trying to get safely across) and it's always a treat to listen to GLaDOS, voiced as in the Portal games by Ellen McLain. You don't have to be a Portal fan to enjoy the game, just a fan of physics-based puzzle games. And if you are a Portal fan, while the game isn't exactly Portal 3, it's nice to be able to make a brief return to Aperture Industries anyway.

A few casts of your line make Fishing Master an enjoyable enough VR demo, the kind of game you'll fire up when you have friends over who haven't tried VR before. It's not the kind of game that you'll sit down and play for an hour, though. It's just too simple and too repetitive to hold your interest for long.

You don't see many platform games in this style these days, especially on the Xbox One, so Super Lucky's Tale delivers something a little different. If you're feeling a little nostalgic for a platformer in a classic mold, the game will certainly help scratch that itch. It's also something that will be appealing to younger gamers, but the youngest ones may find it a little frustrating. Otherwise, you're safe taking a pass on this particular tale.

I found DOOM VFR to be more of a novelty than top-tier shooter experience and if you were hoping for a true FPS experience in VR, then you'll probably be disappointed. The movement is awkward enough that you're always aware of it and so it detracts from the action. It will probably be more appealing to those who have played DOOM before as it will fully immerse you in world that you're familiar with, but even in that case you'll probably wish that you could move without thinking about it while shooting demons.
