While management is a core aspect of The Alters, dealing with complex personalities becomes more prominent as your precious time ticks away. Just remember that failing is human and therefore inevitable, and it will suck, so ask all your alter ego's if you're up for all that trial & error.

Absolum mostly wins you over with its strong mix of variation, challenge, and aesthetics. The roguelite builds a mysterious world with intriguing characters, and the gameplay constantly pushes you to improve. You do start to notice some repetition after a few runs, especially in the early stages. Still, the drive to optimize and progress remains strong, overall, it’s a solid and very enjoyable experience.

SHUTEN ORDER is an ambitious game that combines five distinct genres into a cohesive experience. Each section reveals more about the world and characters, with a story that deepens over time. However, frequent dialogue and gameplay interruptions can make the pacing feel slow and limit player engagement. Despite this, the gameplay is solid and the unique art style and Japanese voice acting reflect the developers' own style and cultural background.

Don’t Stop, Girlypop! is a shooter with a bold, unmistakable identity, blending lightning-fast movement, surprisingly deep combat, and an overwhelming Y2K aesthetic. The visual chaos and strong thematic focus won’t appeal to everyone, but those who embrace its style will find far more depth and confidence than expected.

Big Bad Wolf's Lovecraftian investigation horror experience pulls out all the stops to corrupt the brains of many a Cthulhu fan. From dazzling locations full of references to volumes of H.P. Lovecraft lore, Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss spares no detail. The fact that you have to scan every square centimeter until you lose your mind, and still run the risk of missing vital information, might well be a low point for some. With a bit of bad luck, it drives you to mental corruption, but it is a sacrifice that an audience with The Great Old One requires.

LEGO Voyagers offers a solid and relaxing experience with good controls and fun puzzles, but the lack of dialogue and direction may put some players off. For those who don't mind, it's a great game to enjoy at your own pace with a friend.

Cliché as it may sound, Sleep Awake is not meant for everybody. EYES OUT's deliberate obscure approach to this psychedelic walking sim was meant to draw in the curious and open-minded crowd, treating those who dare to stay awake to mindboggling lore and hallucinogenic FMV sequences. Just make sure to pay attention to the details, since skipping on that might leave you with more questions than answers.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is a stylish and solid arena fighter that offers more content and a faithful anime experience. Not everything hits the mark, but fans get a convincing evolution rather than a revolution.

Playtonic Games has taken Yooka and Laylee to new heights with Yooka-Replaylee, cleverly addressing past criticism with meaningful upgrades. Not every tweak lands perfectly, but platformer fans will find plenty to love in this revamped collectathon.

Moses & Plato - Last Train to Clawville is an enjoyable detective journey that immerses you in the traditional world of crime fiction, with an animal twist. Each character has a distinct personality, making the conversations varied, and while the outcome felt somewhat predictable, the underlying motive was explored in more depth, adding context rather than delivering a true “wow” moment. Still, the ride to the finale is engaging and often amusing, making it well worth your time. Especially as an accessible entry point for newcomers to the genre, though seasoned sleuths will also find plenty to enjoy.

Does it make any sense to treat an eight-year-old game to a remake? In the case of Arizona Sunshine, the answer is most definitely yes. Vertigo Games has done a fine job reanimating its undead classic by giving it some welcome Quality of Death upgrades, vastly improved visuals, and better than ever controls. Unfortunately, the seated mode seems to have gotten infected a bit and doesn't live up to the task at times. But if that's all, this Freddy is a happy Freddy.

Goat Simulator Remastered brings back that wonderful chaos and absurdity, this time with a little less bugs. Still, the question remains whether the fun lasts longer than with the original, especially without couch co-op - perfect for a drunken evening with friends.

Loco Motive offers an entertaining mix of humor, mystery, and classic point-and-click gameplay set in a charming 1930's train. Despite some frustrating puzzles and technical bugs, the game remains engaging with strong dialogue and lively animations, making it a must for fans of Monkey Island and humorous whodunits.

Bloom & Rage pulled me deep into the mysteries of Velvet Cove and hasn’t let go, even after finishing. Despite some technical hiccups, the friendships of Swann, Kat, Nora, and Autumn steal the show. The pacing could be tighter, and the moments between time jumps longer, but I can’t wait to see what fate awaits them in the next chapter this April.

It's almost impossible to not compare Transhuman Design's Jackal to "that other ultra-violent top-down shooter", but even if it does borrow quite some elements from Hotline Miami, Jackal brings its own funkiness to the poker table. When fast-paced bloody carnage gets mixed in with a drug-fueled storyline and a funky 70's soundtrack, all bets are off. Jackal is a blast, even if it's a short trip with some minor inconveniences.

For fans of challenging puzzles, Dungeons of Dreadrock 2 is a great choice. The game features solid visuals, an engaging story, and a fitting soundtrack. Unfortunately, the enemy AI can be uncooperative, and the hints are sometimes too vague to be truly helpful.

For true soulslike fans, WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers is a strong recommendation — even a must-play. It might not be the absolute best soulslike out there, but developer Leenzee has delivered a very solid game on many fronts. What really stands out is the well-balanced mix between exploration and intense combat. Add to that the varied environments, plenty of mechanics to tinker with, and smooth-feeling fights, and you've got a compelling package. Where things do fall short, however, is the game’s performance — even on the PlayStation 5 Pro, it struggled to run smoothly. But if you can look past that, WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers is definitely worth your time.

Code Vein II manages to stand out within the Soulslike genre thanks to its flexible combat, plenty of room for experimentation, and an enjoyable time-travel twist, even if the story isn’t very deep. Technical issues and some repetitive environments hold it back slightly, but for fans of challenging action RPGs (and waifus), this is still an easy recommendation.

F1 25 is the best F1 sim to date, though it feels more like refinement than revolution. The improved handling and fun extras are welcome, but for €79.99, a bit more innovation would've been nice. Still, a solid upgrade for dedicated fans.

Battlestar Galactica: Scattered Hopes completely caught me off guard. Beneath its ruthless tactical gameplay lies a brutal fight for survival where politics, tough choices, and constant pressure collide. Alt Shift also proves the Battlestar IP couldn’t have landed in better hands.

FBC: Firebreak proudly earns its spot among the better co-op shooters out right now. It’s a slick-looking game where the unique missions and bizarre weapon choices really steal the show. Thanks to the many interactive elements in the sandbox, there’s more depth here than you might notice at first. Add to that the solid teamwork features, and deep progression systems, and it’s clear Remedy has delivered a strong package. The enemy AI isn’t all that tough though, and the amount of content at launch is a bit underwhelming - but even with those flaws, I can still wholeheartedly recommend FBC: Firebreak. It’s a shooter that doesn’t talk big - it just gets things done.

Date Everything! is a strong first outing that shows the developers understand the core of a good visual novel dating sim. Each character is uniquely designed to reflect the object they represent and brought to life through great voice acting and clever writing. The game is rich with puns and hidden depth, especially for those who pay attention to names and dialogue. While the structure encourages progression through limited daily interactions and collectibles, endings with characters can feel static due to a lack of new dialogue afterward.

Herdling may be mechanically simple and slow-paced, with little gameplay evolution, but it still manages to stand out. Guiding a herd of creatures to their destination becomes something unexpectedly emotional, thanks to Okomotive’s beautiful audiovisual storytelling and subtle reflection on the animals we’ve loved in real life. Despite the steep price for the few hours it offers, Herdling earns a place among those rare indies that leave a lasting mark - not through mechanics, but through heart.

LOVE ETERNAL proves that simplicity and precision are a powerful match. Not a traditional horror game, but a surreal precision platformer with a melancholic, creepy vibe. Not for everyone, but fans of challenging, artsy platformers shouldn’t miss this one.

With THRASHER, Brian Gibson shows once more where his skills lie: creating trippy neon-filled worlds in which players control a shiny critter. Whether it's a beetje or a space-eel, intriguing scenarios are guaranteed, even if THRASHER's casual friendly gameplay feels like a psychedelic version of Fruit Ninja which doesn't really translate well to gamepad controls.

OPUS: Prism Peak stands out as a strong narrative adventure driven by its characters, atmosphere, and unique gameplay. Photography feels like a meaningful core mechanic, enhancing both the story and immersion, especially once the plot truly unfolds. While its many systems and lack of guidance can feel overwhelming at times, these issues don’t detract much from the overall experience. A memorable and emotional journey, highly recommended for fans of story-driven games with a unique twist.

Capes brings the superhero genre to life with a blend of tactical combat and character-driven storytelling. The game’s strategic depth and diverse abilities make each hero feel unique, offering a satisfying experience for fans of turn-based strategy. However, while the concept is strong, some may find the execution a bit formulaic. It’s a cool take on the superhero theme, but don’t expect it to break the mold entirely.

The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon continues the Calvard arc of the series in a largely successful way. The story is strong and the cast is colorful, but the journey is not entirely without flaws. The narrative unfolds very slowly at the start (a typical issue for the franchise), and at the same time this is absolutely not a beginner-friendly entry point. The combat system remains solid and offers plenty of room for experimentation. Even so, it can feel overwhelming at times, especially if you’re not already familiar with the series. However, if you can look past these shortcomings, an incredible adventure awaits, filled with tons of content and memorable moments.

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond gets a lot right with tight action, clever puzzles, and enjoyable new abilities, all wrapped in a gorgeous and smooth-playing experience. Unfortunately, weaker NPCs and a questionable amiibo decision hurt the atmosphere. A great game, but one that doesn’t quite reach the legendary status of its predecessors.

MIO: Memories in Orbit is a strikingly stylish Metroidvania with the potential to rival the genre’s heavyweights, were it not for one nagging flaw: its pacing. Fans of the subgenre will find much to admire in its beautiful presentation, richly realized world, mysterious narrative, and clever level design, which offer plenty for veterans to sink their teeth into, even if the combat and platforming are more competent than exceptional. I admire the game’s deliberate, contemplative approach, but its frequent sluggishness can sap momentum and demand real effort to push forward. Despite some missteps, MIO: Memories in Orbit remains a memorable experience.

Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land brings a fresh twist with a protagonist who isn’t immediately seen as a hero but doesn’t fully explore that concept. The expanded world, new mechanics like a motorcycle and gun, and dynamic real-time combat add depth to the gameplay. While the Switch version has some technical issues, the beautiful art style and excellent voice acting make up for it. It’s an enjoyable addition to the Atelier series, though it could have used a bit more depth.

No Nintendo Switch 2 available? No problem! Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is a fast, fun, and content-rich kart racer that more than holds its own. It’s a bit chaotic and the visible roadmap teases what you can’t access yet, but the core game absolutely delivers the speed.

The Sims 4: Enchanted by Nature is an atmospheric expansion with strong occult gameplay and beautifully designed fairies, but its execution feels unbalanced. While the magical elements shine, the nature aspect falls flat. Fantasy and fairy fans will find plenty to enjoy, but those expecting a true nature-focused experience may be left wanting.

NBA 2K25 shines with its impressive performance, visuals, and gameplay but suffers from its annual release cycle, leaving little room for innovation. While updates like Pro Builds and Pro Stick Rhythm Shooting improve the experience, modes like MyGM and MyCareer fall short. The increasing reliance on microtransactions, particularly with VC, takes away from what could otherwise be an outstanding game.

Placed alongside Battle for Bikini Bottom Rehydrated and The Cosmic Shake, Titans of the Tide shows just how far Purple Lamp has come - delivering the strongest, most lovingly crafted SpongeBob 3D platformer to date with slick duo-gameplay and deeper level design, even if lingering issues, like stiff animations, performance hiccups, missing QoL features, and Day One DLC keep this otherwise great trip from reaching a true Best Day Ever.

The King is Watching features a unique line-of-sight system that heavily influences gameplay and requires a lot of micromanagement. Players must manage resources, train soldiers, and decide on the difficulty of enemy waves and event outcomes. While replayability comes from unlocking new kings, abilities, and advisors, the game suffers from a lack of variety because of the limited maps and events. The biggest issue is the absence of a save & quit feature, though this is expected to be added in a future update.

I’ve used the word fanservice a lot here, and that’s because My Hero Academia: All’s Justice truly excels at it. As a casual fan, I enjoyed both the recognizable anime moments and the new original content, but judged purely as a game it has some drawbacks, like underwhelming visuals, a few control issues, and unbalanced characters. Die-hard fans shouldn’t miss it, while others may want to wait for a price drop.

With RoboCop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business, Teyon delivers a stand-alone title that addresses some of the criticisms of the previous installment, but still deserves a ticket for the compromises it makes. The focus has shifted, putting you in the thick of intense police brutality in this faster-paced first-person shooter, with quicker access to action mechanics and tougher opponents. However, this comes at the cost of a less immersive world, due to limited freedom and exploration, and some lingering technical flaws - though it still delivers bursts of action-packed highlights that show Teyon at its best.

Visions of Mana offers a beautiful world to explore and challenging battles that can sometimes be a bit chaotic. Despite not having a very innovative story, the game provides enough fun and strategic depth to keep players engaged. Definitely worth it for JRPG fans.

Blue Manchu once again produces a memorable mishmash with Wild Bastards. The setting contains many peculiarities, but it is mainly the legion of playable characters and their peculiar personalities that give the game its own character. In Wild Bastards you experience a highlight when you go on an excursion with your favorite bastards and use the unique skills that they have to offer. The combat is namely entertaining enough due to the various inspirations from other genres and solid, if not somewhat thoughtful, gunplay. It is therefore extra unfortunate that Wild Bastards suffers from just too many headaches to overlook it. Some elements of the game feel underdeveloped, such as the random relationship management and the indifference in the available maps. The main culprit, however, is the pacing of the game, which sometimes makes you feel like you are really stuck in certain parts for far too long. This is an issue in the main campaign, but then also kicks the replayability off the horse. Nevertheless, there's plenty to love in Wild Bastards, even if a one-way ticket through the intergalactic Wild West is enough.

Cat Quest III is stylish and adorable, offering a simple yet charming adventure. While the gameplay may be too straightforward for some, its delightful presentation and easygoing nature make it a fun experience for casual players.

If you enjoyed playing Digital Cybercherries' survival-horror walking sim Don't Scream but also wished you wouldn't have to endure the countless jumpscares alone, Don't Scream Together might be your go-to project. The 90's found footage vibe is strong as ever and the unease is still very palpable, for which Digital Cybercherries should take full credit. Just make sure that you have at least one very gullible and jumpscare sensitive friend in your expedition, unless you're fine with failing because of uncontrollable, fart/burp induced laughing sprees.

Given that RoadCaft left me in the dirt, I honestly believed that Saber's simulation ship had sailed on me for good. Fortunately, Docked has managed to reel me back in, providing a seriously entertaining casual simulation with tons of tasks to keep the enthusiast (un)loading for hours. The only things ruining the immersion are graphical issues, QTE-minigames that just don't land the way they should, and Port Wake that isn't as hustling and bustling as you'd expect from a major transport harbor.

The Spirit of the Samurai combines stunning stop-motion visuals with challenging Soulslike combat and Metroidvania exploration. Despite impressive moments, the fun is sometimes tempered by frustrating combat and technical flaws. Fans of stylish action-platformers will find a unique challenge here, but it is not for everyone.

EA Sports FC 25 is the most complete football game in the series, but is it worth the €80 price tag? If you already own FC 24, you won’t miss much. For fans of Rush and Ultimate Team, it might be wise to wait for a price drop.
