Undisputed is a truly excellent and comprehensive title, although it can still improve. We have a boxing game that strives for realism in every punch and movement. Defensive techniques, punches, footwork: everything aims to be perfect. The sweat on the back, the blood from the nose, the swollen eyes, every detail is really there. The game offers a truly well-crafted, beautiful, and precise realism. It's a shame that some content is missing, like the ability to actually perform training sessions, which would have added something extra to the game. However, we expect great things for the future of the series.

Undisputed is a faithful and immersive interpretation of boxing. In the ring, you have the freedom to choose your punches and move with poise and precision, creating a realistic and engaging experience. Landing a fierce combination feels exhilarating, capturing the technical intensity that defines the sport. While not every punch connects perfectly, and knockouts may lack some of the desired ferocity, the game’s attention to the nuances of boxing makes it the most impressive iteration since EA’s landmark series.

Being the first big box-simulation after 14 years, Undisputed certainly does a solid job to reestablish boxing in gaming. The boxing-simulation may be a bit rough and pure around the edges but delivers in the ring with great atmosphere and intense bouts.

Undisputed does a solid job filling the void left by Fight Night, focusing heavily on realism with strategic, chess-like matches. While it excels in its simulation aspects, it falls short due to frame drops on PS5 and a lackluster career mode. Despite these drawbacks, Steel City Interactive’s commitment to updates and DLC gives hope for improvement, making it a promising entry for boxing fans who crave more authenticity. With future polishing, a potential Undisputed: Round 2 could truly shine.

Much like the determined underdog facing the resplendent and almighty champion, Undisputed gets its licks in trying to carve its own legacy over the old Fight Night franchise, but ultimately suffers defeat due to a disappointingly crummy career mode, a decent if patchy roster, and some in-ring kinks. Still, Undisputed impresses with its blunt-force combos and its attempts to rock its competition with heavy unrelenting blows. The in-ring action of Undisputed is what shines through, and this is what you should savour the most, along with all those attractive venues and presentation qualities. Thankfully, the in-ring action here is satisfying enough to keep you engaged for a while. Undisputed is deserving of your attention and you'll be glad to give it a go if you miss the Fight Night games, just so long as you don't enter the fray believing it's championship material.

Undisputed is the long overdue return of a traditional boxing title on consoles, one with a great license but lacking in execution. Perhaps a bit over ambitious in what it was trying to accomplish, the game could benefit from some more gameplay testing and a true identity.

Huge disappointment. Undisputed is a much, much worse boxing game than Fight Night Champion, which premiered over 13 years ago.
