Jul 17, 2024It took me roughly fifteen hours to play Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn, but I could see it taking someone else either longer or shorter, depending on how they approach the game world, battles, and quests. I enjoyed every moment I played it and was astounded whenever I uncovered something new about one of its massive areas or thrilled when I came up with a winning strategy for a tough fight. Regardless of your thoughts on soulslite games, I think Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn succeeds at being an engaging action RPG. Nor and Enki are fantastic characters with whom I immensely enjoyed traveling. There’s more than enough black powder charge left in this pistol to make a spark happen if you decide to pull the trigger.

Jul 17, 2024Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn offers an action adventure clearly inspired by the virtues of modern God of War. Mixing souslite with hack and slash, it manages to surprise slightly in some of its facets, but fails to reach must-play status.

Jul 17, 2024Soulslite with an immersive world, a foxy companion and a mystical touch – Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn follows a few good approaches that are quite successful for a game of this size.

Jul 17, 2024As long as you can put up with some repetitive enemy design and the story not being all that, then Flintlock is worth a punt. It all comes together for a consistently good experience that never tries to break the bank to become something more. It does nothing insultingly bad; neither does it set a new benchmark for anything specific. Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn is a good video game — nothing more, nothing less.

Jul 24, 2024A meticulously crafted game that offers no surprises, but that doesn't mean it's boring. The world is beautiful, the combat is adequately adrenaline-pumping, and the story is interesting. It's almost a shame that you'll be done with Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn relatively quickly.

Jul 18, 2024Discovering a new licence is always a real pressure and Flintlock delivers us a classic - and somewhat short - solid trip which deserves any interest it will get.

Jul 17, 2024Flintlock comes with good ideas and an exciting premise, but ultimately turns out to be a half-baked attempt at a new soulslite.
