Shock Troopers is a classic that will resonate with the players who have a big case of nostalgia for this game. It keeps up with the test of time when played on its two-player mode but beyond that, some of its gameplay feels anachronistic and stands in the way of making it a more enjoyable classic to most players beyond the circle of connoisseurs who know what they are getting.

A great improvement over its predecessor, Steel Diver: Sub Wars is successful at putting the player in a submarine environment, recreating several aspects of these vessels within the boundaries set by the 3DS. The overall short length of its one player mode and the lack of options on multiplayer mode end up becoming obstacles on its route, but this is a title that will not disappoint.

Thanks to its action elements and especially to its time mechanics, Time Recoil is an interesting game that brings an original and welcome experience to the catalog of the Nintendo Switch. While its graphics may be too simplistic and its plot not more than a motif to justify the game's action, Time Recoil brings very good action moments and it's a proposal that is very well suited to short gaming sessions.

Hyrule Warriors: Legends is a good conversion from the Wii U's Zelda-inspired fighting game and it brings an enormous amount of content and gameplay that can easily go into one hundred hours. Dreamals is a surprisingly fun and addictive head-scratching platformer, riddled with puzzles that will keep the players captivated for the length of its eighty levels. It falls short of expectations on its visual and sound environments, nevertheless, as it could certainly use a more stable framerate and a more varied soundtrack, not to mention some interaction with the Wii U GamePad but fans of puzzling platformers will find reasons to enjoy Dreamals.

Black The Fall is an entertaining action game with puzzle solving that features a gloomy, somber background as the player has to escape an oppressive regime. While its puzzles and art style are to praise, the game feels too repetitive at times and its lifespan can get too short, not to mention that the lack of music harms the overall environment.

Yesterday Origins has the rather unusual task of bringing a point and click adventure game to the Nintendo Switch eShop...and it works, as this is a fully enjoyable game that features a short but interesting plot, with some very good dialogue lines, a well adapted control scheme and a top notch audiovisual environment. The game may not be up everyone's alley, as its slow pace may put some players off but this is a successful and interesting game of an unusual genre in consoles that is well worth of the players' attention.

Mana Spark deserves to be treated as more than "just" an indie game. Its combats and tactical RPG elements, as well as its very alluring pixel art style and tough difficulty level put it on a threshold that will make veteran players feel the right amount of challenge, while perhaps alienating some of those who are less experienced. A game that will be appreciated by all those who enjoy a good challenge.

Bow to Blood: Last Captain Standing is an interesting work that joins an action-based gameplay with roguelike components and some strategic decision-making as well for an experience that is ambitious but which does not quite fulfill itself entirely on this Nintendo Switch version.

While there are some improvements over the original, and including an online multiplayer is worthy of praise, too little was made to bring the game to our day and age. As such, there are many elements that clearly belong to the day of the original release, as well as to another format and which don't fit with the expectations of players, namely its controls and performance.

It's always good to have more puzzles and E4 delivers on that front, but leveling difficulty by the bottom will disappoint the veterans, along with the return of the Micross mode. A positive mention, though, for Picross' equivalent of a fidelity program and its rewards on the 3DS.

Clusterpuck 99 is a fun and amusing mix of genres that makes use of simple and intuitive controls, a multiplayer component able to handle up to eight players and a competent AI to bring an experience that can certainly make for some fun hours around a Nintendo Switch, despite its lack of online play and a rather short lifespan when played solo.

Lord of Magna: Maiden Heaven is one delightful gem of the 3DS eShop catalog. Even if it might take a while to settle in and its amounts of text may be a bit too much for some players, it rewards everyone with an enveloping plot and very well implemented character developments.

Comic Workshop provides some simple and effective tools to create comics on the 3DS. It’s not a full-fledged comic book maker but it provides a very helpful assistance, even if the small screen of the 3DS will demand a high degree of precision from the user.

Its combat may feel flawed at first but as the game goes on and the customization options open up to the player, ONINAKI becomes more and more enjoyable and its approximate twenty hours of lifespan make this a game that is worthy of the player's attention.

Azkend 2: The World Beneath brings a good variety of puzzles and levels. Thanks to its simple gameplay mechanics, most players will find it very accessible to get into the game. Azkend 2, however, fails when it comes to its lifespan, which is too short and the random way with which it distributes the puzzle pieces make it occasionally a rather frustrating experience.

The most experienced players will be delighted with this and its customization options and online modes are very welcome elements. Nevertheless, not all the new elements are to be praised and there’s an overall lack of innovation in a title that sticks to its job as an anniversary game and not much more.

If anything Earth Wars feels like it should have built more on some elements and dropped others. Its gameplay mechanics are certainly enjoyable and the boss fights well designed but this ends up losing ground to a generic and bland plot, rather dull missions and cutscenes that contribute with very little to the overall experience.
