In Other Waters is a text-based adventure that may not catch everyone's attention at first but the game creates a space for itself with its stunning visual environment, relaxing and immersive soundtrack, and ways of spending long hours exploring and analyzing the bottom of the seas. An enveloping experience with a pedagogical component and which can be played using the Nintendo Switch touch screen is without any doubt a very welcome addition to the console's catalogue.

Blaster Master Zero should be pointed out as the formula to follow when making a remake of a classic game. While the original's technical aspects and some elements of gameplay were modernized according to today's demands, the contents and spirit of the 8-bit classic remain intact, just like a remake should be. Anyone can enjoy this, not just retrogaming enthusiasts, which further attests to Blaster Master Zero's qualities.

A mixture between a beat'em-up, a shoot'em-up and an RPG might not sound like the most workable formula but Full Metal Furies manages to do just that while presenting a fun experience, especially in its co-op component. Thanks to its very robust combat system and well written plot, Full Metal Furies delivers what is certain to be an instant hit with fans of co-op experiences.

Forager brings forth a good open-world simulation game that successfully transmits to the player a rewarding feeling of growth and involvement, along with simple and fun mechanics. Watching the growth from a simple plot of land to a large empire is very satisfactory, even if the game's performance seems to deteriorate as the player's fiefdom expands.

Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle brings seven historic Capcom beat 'em up games to the Nintendo Switch in a collection that acts as a retrospect of the genre. The games are accurately portrayed and feature an enjoyable cooperative multiplayer but the online component displays some problems and the game feels limited in its audio and visual options. Nevertheless, this is an impressive collection of beat 'em up classics, both for fans and new players.

This game features a wide amount of content and a very challenging gameplay which is certain to keep players busy for some time. However, it's very difficult to understand why this game is exclusively released on the eShop of the New 3DS, as its visual environment does not seem to justify this decision.

Adventures of Pip is another welcome title to the growing library of platformers that make an extensive use of pixel art and boast a retro-style visual inspiration as well as multiple puzzle-solving. Each level brings new elements to keep the players closely around the game and its level of challenge goes beyond the plot, encouraging the player to explore and go further.

Making a strength of its simplicity, it presents the player a challenging campaign, well designed levels with a perfectly appropriate difficulty level and a nicely presented and enjoyable content. While it may feel too simple at some moments, Shift Quantum is a very welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch library.

Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark does not reinvent the whole tactical RPG world but it surely does a very good job at some of its main aspects, namely at customization and at giving a whole lot of reasons for the player to look at the screen with all its gorgeous elements. If it's true that the plot and some of its mechanics need improvement, Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark does not need to copy previous games to make a name on its own.

Deep Sky Derelicts brings a lot of things and two of them stand out: a roguelike approach to exploration and a turn-based RPG take on combat under the form of cards. Along with rich amount of character customization, this makes the game an enjoyable experience, but one that requires some time investment before it bears fruit. Some elements aren't very practical either when it comes to the functioning of the game, but more dedicated players will find their way around.

Mario Golf: World Tour brings Nintendo's golf series to the 3DS in quite a competent and compelling way. There's a wide variety of content to unlock and the challenge will keep players with their hands on this for a long time. Less skilled players may find it too difficult though, but anyone willing to invest a bit of their time and effort will be adequately rewarded.

While its difficulty is sometimes off the mark on some puzzles and some of the missions are too easy, fans of point and click adventures will undoubtedly have a very good time with Nelly Cootalot.

Bringing LEGO City Underground to the Nintendo Switch four years after the game's original release is not without its risks but the result is overwhelmingly positive. This is a game that carries out a smooth transition to its new format and which keeps a very fun campaign and featuring content that will keep the players entertained for a long time.

Like its name suggests, Hyrule Warriors Definitive Edition for the Nintendo Switch intends to be the ultimate edition of the game that was originally released on the Wii U. This definitive edition certainly features several added values, including new maps and characters that make it a worthy game to look into. Where this definitive edition disappoints, though, is on its occasional performance issues when played as a handheld.

Everything in this game is done fluidly and despite a certain level of repetition, the players bound to be allured by this New Style Boutique will find plenty of reasons to dedicate themselves to this experience of fashion management.

Horizon Shift '81 is a proper tribute to the 1980s-style space shooters, featuring most of the style's conventions and an assortment of contemporary add-ons that make it a very appealing game for hardcore enthusiasts. With its simple and intuitive gameplay, visual art style and customization options, it only lacks a multiplayer and an online component to tick all the boxes in the checklist.

Debris Infinity successfully brings the players back to a simpler time of arcade-style shoot'em ups, with its intuitive gameplay topped with multiplayer features. The game also adds some very necessary contemporary features, such as its very useful real time updated online leaderboards. Debris Infinity will have a harder time convincing players who are interested in aspects other than the 1980s revivalism and achieving high scores, but it does a competent job at what it proposes.

La-Mulana knows how to be tough and demanding but dedicated players will find a game that has an interesting plot, a marvelous visual environment that's inspired on the 16-bit era, an exquisite soundtrack and very engaging puzzles. Not all players will be lured, due to some puzzles leading to frustrating moments but fans of Metroidvania-type games have a real gem here for the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

Mega Man Legacy Collection is an invitation to explore the first six Mega Man games and it succeeds at striking a chord both with longtime Mega Man fans and with those less familiar with the series. As good as this compilation is, it could only be improved by fixing frame rate drops in certain busy areas and with more content, especially more games of the Mega Man series which could have easily been included in this title.

Tiny Barbarian DX is clearly a tribute to the 8 and 16-bit era of action platformers and it's a competent game at that, thanks to very sharp controls and a good lifespan. Where it fails is on its charisma, or lack thereof, as its levels turn out to be too generic and its difficulty level can be way too high for many players, not to mention its relative lack of content beyond the main campaign mode.

Etrian Mystery Dungeon is a tough as nails RPG which demands a good level of strategic thinking when tackling the adversities ahead. Featuring lush and beautiful environments and a majestic soundtrack, it's a fun and compelling experience for RPG fans who like going deep into their endeavours. Those who prefer a light-hearted approach should be careful though, as this game will not show any mercy.

Pawarumi joins the ranks of 2D shoot'em ups on the Nintendo Switch and brings a 'rock, paper, scissors' system to its gameplay mechanics, a laudable feature which makes the game involving and gives it a tough, demanding difficulty level (sometimes too high, it should be said). Pawarumi is full of personality and any fans of 2D shooters will feel more than satisfied with this new effort on the Nintendo Switch.

Nintendo finaly gets its Minecraft, delivered onto the Wii U's eShop and how does it add up? It's Minecraft, nothing else to add - and it doesn't build up on the other versions available. It's the same unlimited and never-ending building game but it doesn't fully make use of the Wii U's capabilities.

With an interesting concept, Rush presents a fantastic challenge. Despite being short, your brains will be satisfied for still being capable of solving some hard puzzles.

Flashback brings back one of the 1990s 16-bit classics in a perfect nostalgia exercise that also includes some interesting new elements. Its gameplay remains as demanding as it was, which will delight Flashback's fans and possibly frustrate more recent players who are not used to this kind of old school difficulty.

Cat Quest II is an action RPG filled with fun and well-humoured moments, featuring a colourful world and with a simple combat system and even if some sections can get repetitive and there's not much to do after the main campaign is over, this is an overall relaxing and welcome game that only adds another fun option to the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

The gameplay mechanics of Inazuma Eleven GO: Chrono Stones remain attractive but its new content could have been better implemented. The plot line becomes confusing as well and there are better ways to explore the additional contents of this chapter.

Blasphemous is a marvelous work of the Metroidvania genre with an art style based on pixel art and which features exquisite combat mechanics and an eye-filling visual environment marked by gloom and desolation. This is without a doubt one of the richest and most defying Metroidvania adventures to reach the market in recent years and a fundamental game for everyone who enjoys a good gaming experience of this kind.

Morbid details and shocking sights aren't everyone's cup of tea but for the players who are into horror, Corpse Party will be a blessing in the 3DS catalogue. Even if its gameplay will lose its effect after a while and become a bit repetitive, the game's dialogues, plot and audiovisual environments will keep the players focused for long periods of time, especially with the purpose of reaching that one good ending (which will require some effort).

While it may get repetitive at times, it's a pleasant experience that features an open world which can be explored in a fully non-linear way and ultimately, a welcome addition to the fast growing catalog of the Nintendo Switch.

Rather than a game, KORG M01D is an exquisite musical composing tool that fits perfectly within the 3DS. Its price tag is yet another point in favour for a title that is set to captivate its target-audience. Nevertheless, it should be pointed out that M01D might still seem too intimidating for those with few skills in the field of music-making.

Risky's Revenge - Director's Cut does not stand out as much as its predecessor did, which is no shame as this is a game that features a good balance between exploration of locations and backtracking and Shantae's magic spells and transforming skills are delightful. It could go further on the boss fights and in terms of content but that doesn't stand on its way of being a very enjoyable game for those who like exploring and backtracking in a metroidvania style.

While the game's plot is mostly unnecessary and there could be a wider variety of enemies, the top notch production values and the game's overall fluidity are enough to seduce anyone who enjoys action gaming.

Darksiders 2: Deathinitive Edition represents a different but by no means less enjoyable experience than its predecessor. The plot may be very simple but it's competent enough and the game's missions, side quests, plentiful loot and soundtrack all add up to make this an involving and rewarding experience around such a rich, well-crafted effort.

Lumo is a fitting tribute to isometric platform games which honours its retrogaming references with a progressive and well adjusted difficulty curve, as well as plenty of references to classic titles of years gone by. While the fixed camera may cause some issues in specific moments, the overall experience is nothing short of pleasant and enjoyable, whether on short or long gaming sessions.

ARMS is clearly something that stands out amidst Nintendo's recent works. With its very creative approach, it eschews most of the labels used to categorize games and proposes bouts of physical fighting coupled with other sports and actions thrown into the mix to make something that is without a doubt more than welcome in Nintendo's catalogue. Its wide and varied content, intuitive gameplay mechanics, quality online modes and all the additional content that will be released for it make ARMS an essential game in the universe of every Nintendo Switch player.

It's difficult for a port to reach the level of the original, more so when the original is for a more advanced system, but Poochy & Yoshi’s Woolly World does just that. Even if it doesn't introduce groundbreaking elements compared to the original game behind it, this platforming gem does everything we can expect and more thanks to its marvelous graphics, challenging nature and lifespan.

Tappingo 2 is less of a follow up and more of an expansion of the original. While it presents a decent price/contents relation, its dearth of new ideas and frustrating controls will keep most of the public away. Still, for those who enjoyed the original and who are into a Picross-style of gameplay, Tappingo 2 can be a fun and entertaining choice, even if for a short timeframe.

Human Resource Machine is an unusual specimen, a puzzle game more intricate than most puzzle games, with a very demanding level of difficulty and which requires a certain mindset to be enjoyed. That being said, its puzzles are very challenging and its control system works perfectly, whether on handheld mode or with the Nintendo Switch on its Dock. The assignments could be more varied but for those who enjoy tough and difficult tasks and who are not intimidated by mathematical elements, Human Resource Machine is a gem and the Nintendo Switch is getting its shiniest version.

Thanks to its immersive environment and plot, the players will be throw into a setting that has few peers in gaming and those in particular who appreciate horror themes will be delighted to explore the gut-wrenching moments of the game.

Making use of it array of marvelous visual environments and art style, a very good writing and narrative and well adjusted lifespan, Death Mark uses all of this to create what is very well one of the best games to come out this year on the Nintendo Switch.

Cursed Castilla does not try to open new paths, this is a simple, intense, action game based on extremely tough games of past ages. This is a simple effort that's fun and very challenging and doesn't go beyond that. As Cursed Castilla tries to follow the examples of some tough-as-nails classics, it also does little to set itself apart and as such, this fun and simple game is also rather limited in what it brings.

With its frantic action and sharp level design, Ion Fury on the Nintendo Switch is more than worthy of the time and efforts of any players who enjoy a more old school experience that didn't stop in time.

Valiant Hearts: The Great War is not just a point and click adventure with some puzzles in the middle, it's a game that captures World War I in a strong, unforgettable way and which displays it through a marvelous visual outlook that will involve the player from the beginning to the end. The puzzles could certainly be more challenging but Valiant Hearts focuses on the experience and livelihood and this is something the game undoubtedly excels at.

Shutshimi is a simple and very addictive fast-pace shoot'em up that presents itself in an old school-style and which will strike a chord with enthusiasts of intense scrolling shoot'em ups. So intense, in fact, that its experiences become too short-lived and its lifespan quickly falls behind when played solo, rather than on multiplayer.

Skylanders Imaginators pursues the legacy of its predecessors and is a fun, simple and visually rich action-platformer that makes use of action figures to interact in the game. It could have been more generous, given how much of its contents require owning all the figures, which will weigh heavily on the players' budgets, but the game also allows some margin to finish its main plot without the need to overspend.

7 Billion Humans brings a fun and very addictive concept to the Nintendo Switch under the guise of a game that runs the risk of looking dull at first but which will quickly reward its players with a varied, engaging experience. With a control system that favours the handheld experience over a screen interface and with a gameplay designed for one player only, 7 Billion Humans has more than enough to make up for these flaws with its amusing qualities.

While the action can get repetitive too fast and its difficulty level is a tad too artificial, the game is an overall fun experience with a good lifespan, especially on multiplayer up to four players, which is where Castle Crashers Remastered really shines.

Northgard on the Nintendo Switch may be an indie game but that doesn't mean it's not an ambitious work. On the contrary, this immense real-time strategy game offers an almost endless value with its colossal exploration and empire-building mechanics and with an exquisite presentation and a perfectly crafted handheld experience, Northgard is essential for everyone who likes a good, enveloping RTS and anyone beyond that circle as well.

Mousecraft, a simple puzzle-based game that draws inspiration from some classics of the genre and which can fill up short breaks in the day with its mix of fun and intuitive gameplay and cheery (but not cheesy) audiovisual environment. Fans of puzzlers will go beyond that and will easily enjoy it at much greater lengths whereas other players will prefer to take it in smaller amounts but regardless of the audience, the Nintendo Switch catalogue is richer and more attractive with the arrival of Mousecraft.

There's certainly a lot of qualities in The Keep and the game is not without its charms but there also seems to be an overall feeling of repetitiveness and lack of originality regarding other dungeon crawling titles.

Strikey Sisters is a simple game with a simple formula and a simple presentation...and it works: it's a fun, challenging and high-paced effort which gains an additional appeal in multiplayer and presents itself with a retro art style that fits its premise perfectly. Its plot moments could be dispensed with but they do not in any way interfere with the quality of the gameplay in this work.

The World Ends With You makes its premier on a home console and this Nintendo Switch version is certainly filled with elements that should attract any player's attention, from its dynamic combat system to its art style and fluid gameplay...as long as it's played on the Switch as a handheld, since the use of the conventional control system brings some interactivity problems and turns a fluid gameplay into something more clunky than it is acceptable. Regardless of that, this version of The World Ends With You is without doubt a very welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch catalogue.

The concept of moving furniture out doesn't seem like the basis for an exciting game but Moving Out presents it in a way that will have players sweating and puffing in order to make it far. While its controls aren't always as sharp as they should and not all players will react positively, Moving Out is definitely worth checking out.

The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 deserves a lot of praise for its top notch humour coupled with references to fairy tales and contemporary pop culture, as well as for its defying (and frustrating) puzzles, well-written plot and art style. The game would rank even higher if it featured touch screen controls, a flaw that clearly stands out in a point and click game, and if its selling price was closer to versions of the same game in other platforms. Despite these factors, this is easily one of the most fun games that the Nintendo eShop catalogue has to offer.

Football Manager Touch 2018 is the first game of the Football Manager series to land on the Nintendo Switch and while it may not be the definite version of Football Manager 2018, it's certainly a successful adaptation to the Nintendo Switch format. Thanks to its quick-paced fluid gameplay, the game can be easily played on a handheld basis and its interface fits the Nintendo Switch touch screen perfectly. While there are technical issues to solve and the game lacks an online component, this version of Football Manager is certainly a welcome contribution to the Nintendo Switch catalog.

Mantis Burn Racing expands the Nintendo Switch catalog on the racing genre and brings forth a fun and well-made effort, featuring an entertaining driving challenge, with plenty of content to explore and very detailed visuals. It doesn't avoid a certain feeling of repetitiveness but Mantis Burn Racing has what it takes to be a recommended racing game for the Nintendo Switch.

Darksiders Warmastered Edition marks the return of the Darksiders series and its arrival on the Nintendo Switch after landing in other platforms. It's true that it doesn't bring anything new compared to its original version but what is here is a game that features a fun gameplay, very good boss fights and a very nice-looking art style, it just needs to fix its occasional crashing problem but for those who are not familiar with the Darksiders series, this will be a good introduction.

Tiny Metal: Full Metal Rumble is a fun and well designed turn-based strategy game that drew inspiration from some of the finest references in Nintendo consoles and delivers a very improved sequel on its predecessor where the level of strategy involved and the amount of content help make this a very recommended work, with its rather slow start and long loading times being easier to weather with so many redeeming qualities.

M2 did a wonderful job with 3D Galaxy Force II. The 3D version is superb in all components and redeems the disaster that was the Mega Drive version. It won’t take you long to complete, but it is still a great effort.

Tetrabot and Co. rightfully deserves more exposition in the Wii U’s eShop catalogue. This is a fun, challenging and intuitive puzzle game, topped by a brilliant level design that is set to keep players glued to the (very well implemented) control system for a long time.

Knytt Underground is an odd game, and certainly a polarizing one, as some will greatly enjoy its ambiance and exploration-heavy gameplay, while others won't be able to overlook its terrible story and dialogue sections.

Nihilumbra does a perfect job at creating a nihilistic setting which will plunge the player in a gloomy, depressive spiral. Its visual and sound environments fit the game's plot without any flaws and the initial difficulty level allows the player to finish the plot-driven part of the game without problems. Things get more complicated once the player reaches the following segment, where the difficulty level hikes dramatically and the whole experience becomes much harder.

Simple but by no means empty, Inbento does not feature any major thrills or breathtaking ups and downs but it definitely provides a heart-filling experience, complete with kittens and a welcoming audiovisual environment.

Pokémon Art Academy is a well presented software that manages to teach the players about drawing within a Pokémon-esque context, providing a vital and compelling framework for would-be artists to learn some skills while exploring one of Nintendo's biggest series. Sharing one's creations is also a high point here, even though the overall experience can be rather short and a 3DS screen does not go as far as a real canvas.

Its low selling price makes up for not being the series' ultimate version and for the absence of some elements that were part of previous iterations of Toki Tori. Its appeal, however, will be mostly limited to fans of the genre.

With its fun gameplay mechanics and marvelous art style, Creature in the Well's qualities far outweigh its sense of repetitiveness and absence of a more pronounced audio component. A very original and welcome addition to the Nintendo Switch catalogue that everyone should try.

Super Chariot tries to do something bold: to stand out, as a 2D platformer, in a Nintendo system. And it can't be blamed for trying, as the game feature a long and entertaining lifespan with a sharp gameplay that will keep players amused for some time, even more in its cooperative multiplayer mode, amidst its visually welcoming environments.

Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle is what happens when one of the world's most iconic horror movie series is given a hilarious gaming treatment. A game that's full of comedic moments which will get the players to grow fond of it immediately, this is a surprising work to be found in the Nintendo Switch eShop and which should be quickly claimed by players and fans of the series alike.

It could certainly use some improvement regarding its single player appeal, as it becomes repetitive too quickly and its difficulty level does not quite stand the test. All that aside, Pokkén Tournament is worthy of praise and a good example on how to bring one series to a different genre.

Sega managed to take one of its 1980s arcade classics and turned into an attractive conversion able to keep the gamers happy and entertained. With gameplay that adapts perfectly to short gaming sessions and a very competent transition from the arcade to the handheld format, 3D Super Hang-on crowns it with a perfectly smooth 3D effect. This is an effort that deserves to be experienced.

Whether someone is familiar with Metal Slug 3 or not, this conversion under the banner of the ACA Neo Geo series, will work wonders. SNK's iconic run and gun series is very well represented in this conversion for the Nintendo Switch which faithfully maintains all the elements that made the original such a remarkable and appreciated game. Veterans and newcomers alike will all find plenty of reasons to invest their time and effort here.

Piczle Lines DX brings a fun and challenging concept to the puzzle game genre and resembles a crossover between Picross and Sudoku. It does a good use of the Nintendo Switch capabilities, namely of its touch screen but it could use more game modes for its price and it would benefit from a multiplayer mode.

Featuring much more of a plot than its peers, Transcripted can start feeling repetitive after a while, despite its interesting concept, but that shouldn't put away those looking for something rather original.

Old School Musical says a lot in its title - it's a music and rhythm game that's full of old school gaming references. While it's difficult to understand why the game did not secure a licence to feature the actual songs from the retro games it so openly worships, Old School Musical is still a fun and enjoyable game whose lifespan even benefits from a very welcome extension.

A stunning looking RPG with fun interactions and gameplay, Yo-Kai Watch packs over one hundred hours of lifespan to explore fully. While it could have invested more in developing its plot, it's a very welcome arrival to the European market of a game that has spawned a successful series in its home country.

Super Mario Party builds up on the legacy of the now-veteran party game series and adds new and fun game modes, as well as a much requested online component. While it's unquestionable that this is an amusing and enjoyable game in the proper context, all aspirations are not satisfied. The cooperative and single player modes feel too repetitive and the online component is too simplistic. Nevertheless, the Mario Party series remains a flagship of the party game genre.

Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam Bros. brings forth a very interesting and fun crossover between two of Nintendo's most cherished series featuring some of its most appreciated characters. The two worlds come together in a very successful way, even if it's clear that the mechanics of the Mario & Luigi series are more predominant than those of the Paper Mario series. The amount of tutorials could be lower to make the experience more fluid and its plot is too predictable but this remains a fun and enticing title.

Featuring puzzles based on sushi dishes and tactic elements to fight opponents, Sushi Striker: The Way of Sushido brings a wide variety of content, very appealing visuals and a completely zany plot, which sometimes feels like it drags itself for too long, while its online community is way too small.

Azure Striker Gunvolt 2 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor all too well for its own sake, insofar as it's often difficult to point out any outstanding differences between the two. This is not necessarily a handicap, as the sequel is a quality action platformer that features an exquisite visual environment and fine-tuned gameplay.

Ever Oasis may not live up to the most ambitious thresholds but that doesn't mean that it's not a fun game. Its amazing art design, feeling of progression and fun combat will easily make this a long-lasting and will mire players in its lore and details for a very long time. In the large and varied 3DS catalogue, this is yet another very welcome title.

The dialogues are full of humour and the character's animations are very well executed. Octodad mostly disappoints in its short length and players who feel put off by difficult controls will not appreciate its mechanics.
